Thanksgiving Gifts

Image
Yesterday I shared a Mini Treat Bag  that would be perfect for Thanksgiving.  Well, I thought I'd take it a step further and set up a simple place setting. Isn't this elegant??  I added in a curvy keepsake pumpkin with the mini treat bag card to make a complete gift. The pumpkin has the same sentiment and an emboss resist leaf to make it coordinate nicely.  I made a faux stem with a little bit of Chevron Ribbon that was cut in half. I think my guests will like their little gifts, what do you think?? CLICK HERE to SHOP anytime and earn FREE STAMPS! Delightful Dijon

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop !  August is all about the new IN COLORS and today we are featuring DELIGHTFUL DIJON! I used Lighthearted Leaves again this week, it's just too fabulous in Delightful Dijon! How stunning is this Mini Treat Bag card!  The golden tone of Delightful Dijon is perfect for fall and these gorgeous leaf stamps. I almost went with this as just a treat bag, but changed my mind!  In the end, I felt this would be a gorgeous way to tell everyone at Thanksgiving how grateful I am for them by leaving this on their dinner plates. The leaves were done with the emboss resist technique, one leaf in Delightful Dijon and one in Soft Suede.  The sentiment was stamped in the bold Early Espresso which compliments Delightful Dijon nicely. I also added in a few golden details, the Gold Metallic Thread and a few sequins....they are perfect finishing touches! Now it’s time to check out what the rest of the Design Team has for us today, I know it

Seriously Clean and Simple

Image
I went seriously clean and simple for today's card.  I love the crispness it has! Told ya it was simple!  I don't usually go THIS simple, but this works! The inspiration for this card was two fold.  First, I wanted a simple card to send a nice note to my Aunt.  With it being the end of summer and lots of gardening is still going on, I planned on using GIFT FROM THE GARDEN .  But, I need a little more of a push, so the second bit of inspiration came from the color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary. Not much explaining that needs to be done with this, huh!  The boots look so pretty in Watermelon Wonder with small Pool Party Flowers.  I used the TREE BUILDER PUNCH for that sweet little flower, it's nice to have a tiny flower to use for accents! Ok, before I go, I wanted to remind you of the August Mini Session from Create with Connie and Mary.  There are 5 AWESOME projects ready to go for you, including two 3D and three card sets....all for only $8.95!!  It's quite

Flower Box

Image
I went in a different direction today and went back to a favorite of mine from the main catalog, GIFT FROM THE GARDEN . I combined it with the new Hearth and Home thinlits in the Holiday catalog that will be released next week.  I love how perfectly matched the frame is with the plant! A planter box, small flowers and leaves really brought the window to life!  The BRICK WALL embossing folder helped with that aspect too! Now how about my inspiration....well, I used the sketch from Try Stampin' -or not- on Tuesday. Is this a great sketch or what!  Now you can see why I immediately thought of the Hearth and Home Thinlits. I can see lots of window frames and potted plants in my future!  There are so many uses, both the stamp set and thinlits are a must have on your wish list! Speaking of GIFT FROM THE GARDEN, it's what I used for my card set in the August Mini Session from Create with Connie and Mary .  The session is LIVE right now which means you get all 5 tutorials right away a

Lighthearted Leaves Shaker

Image
Guess what....I'm back with another SHAKER!  Yep, I am officially obsessed!  I have really been into fall cards and was pondering a way to make a cool shaker.  LIGHTHEARTED LEAVES is a new favorite of mine, so I thought about it and came up with this! A rustic shaker!!  The idea for this kind of shaker came when I found some cool fall colored sequins at the Dollar Tree.  Of course I grabbed them up in every color and went home a happy girl! If you'll look closely, the shaker is shaped perfectly as a leaf so you see all the sequins.  I did a similar card with the butterfly framelits, you can find more about it HERE .  You can also see a close up of the embossing and sponging that really brings home the rustic feel of the card. I went with the EXPRESSIONS NATURAL ELEMENTS for my sentiment, it was the perfect fit for this monochromatic card.  I wasn't sold on these wooden elements at first, but now I love them!  In fact, there are more coming up in the Holiday Catalog that I

Envelope Punch Board Treat Tutorial

Image
I am back with a tutorial for the fun little treat that I shared last week .  I had LOTS of emails about how to make these cute little guys, so I here you go!  First let me show you a couple of new designs that I did. SO CUTE, right??  I think the googlie eyes really made these cool!! This first one has a Black Glimmer paper hat, so fashionable for a skeleton! This next guy just preferred the bare bones!  Of course I had to use Black Glimmer paper somehow, so I added the "BOO"! Ok, now to the nitty gritty!!  I am trying something different this time, something I hope will be helpful.  I wrote up the tutorial in PDF form for you to download!!  I would love to know if that is something you'd like in place of the tutorial just in the blog post, so leave me a comment and tell me what you think! Cucumber Crush!

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!   August is all about the new IN COLORS and today we are featuring CUCUMBER CRUSH! I had LIGHTHEARTED LEAVES sitting out on my desk and thought it would look gorgeous in CUCUMBER CRUSH! Clean and simple looks good with this color!  But since I went with just Cucumber Crush and Whisper White, I did a fun style of card to kick it up! It goes from simple to pop out swing card!  Isn't that great!  The inside is clean and simple too, just a little stamping and extra designer paper.  Can you guess where the designer paper is from??  It's part of the Cherry on Top DSP!  I think it looks wonderful with the leaves, a very nice contrast! And speaking of nice contrast, how about the gorgeous sentiment from the Expressions Natural Elements.  I love how the natural wood looks with the leaves, it's a perfect pairing! I hope you are using Cucumber Crush on your cards, it's a fabulous bold color!  Now how about some more

Trick or Treat!

Image
Have I told you how much I am loving HOWL-O-WEEN TREATS??  I am a sucker for stamp sets that come with coordinating framelits and when they are bundled with a discount, well...who can resist?! For today's card though, I didn't need the framelits, I went simple and let the bold sentiment take center stage. Isn't this fun!!  Bet you guessed it was going to be a SHAKER!  What got me thinking about doing this one was not only the nice bold sentiment, but the cool new HAPPY HAUNTING DESIGNER WASHI TAPE. I love this style of shaker, they are easy to make and easy to mail!  I added silver sequins that I took from the Cottage Greetings Card Kit and BLACK GLIMMER paper stars made with the Confetti Star Border Punch. This card is simple yet BOLD!!!  And as always the envelope is stamped and the inside too! Are you intimidated by shakers or just haven't given them a try yet because you're not sure?  Well, I have a solution for you...a fun tutorial all about SHAKERS, including
