Perfect Blend for TSSC282

Image
It's Monday and Mary Jo has a great sketch for this week's sketch challenge at Technostamper. I have been into using Perfect Blend this last week so I went with it for this sketch.  I had so much fun with this card!  I wanted to integrate a doily and DSP, so I went with brown tones and Coastal Cabana for a pop of color.  Here's the details. 1.   Chose Coastal Cabana for the card base.  Added a couple splotches using Gorgeous Grunge and Soft Suede ink. 2.  Added in a doily with a circle of Soft Suede card stock die cut with a circle framelit. 3.  Added a strip of Season of Style polka dot DSP 1" x 4 1/4" over top of the doily. 4.  Stamped the coffee cup from Perfect Blend with Soft Suede on Whisper White and Crumb Cake card stock.  Stamped sentiment on the center of the Crumb cake cup and cut it out.  Also cut out the Crumb Cake lid.  Cut out the White cup and added the sentiment and lid with Tombow Multi Purpose glue.  Adhered the cup over the doily with dimension

Flashback Friday: Longfellows

Welcome to Flashback Friday!  This week we travel back to 2010 for a fun hostess set called Longfellows.  It's such a cute set!  Take a look. I picked this set for a reason, my stamping friend Lisa Rhine's birthday was yesterday.  I am just getting her card in the mail today, so that's why I chose the cute turtle.  Here's the card I made her last night. I went with the clean and simple look again.  I thought Gorgeous Grunge would be fun to use for the background.  I stamped the turtle on Whisper White and die cut it with the Deco Labels framelit.  I free hand paper pierced around the outside of the die cut.  A blender pen with Pear Pizzaz and Old Olive ink were used to color the turtle.  I think this is a really fun card and I hope Lisa likes it!  You should stop by her blog , she has been doing Flashback Friday as well and she is a fantastic artist! Thanks for visiting! Have a happy stamping day! If it doesn't move...stamp it!! Nicole Tugrul Independent Stampin'

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge from Creat with Connie and Mary.  This week we have a color challenge, take a look. Aren't these colors great for fall!  I don't have a lot of fall stamps.   In fact I am such a Halloween fan that I usually just get those stamps from the new Holiday catalogs.  So I had to think in another direction. I decided that Perfect Blend would fit the bill.  Who doesn't love coffee or hot chocolate on a chilly fall evening?  Here's what I came up with, a clean and simple card. As I've said before, I am loving the simple white background with a pop of bright colors.  The colors for this week are perfect for this style of card.  Here's what I did. 1.  Used Whisper White for my card base.  Stamped splatters from Gorgeous Grunge with Cajun Craze. 2.  Stamped the coffee cup with StazOn Black on Whisper White and die cut it with the Deco Labels framelit.  3.  Stamped the coffee cup on Cajun Craze cs and Crushed Curry cs then cut ou

Perfect Blend for Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch #137

It's Tuesday and time for a new sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday!  This week we have a fun sketch to use with an Autumn theme. I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with this for a fall look, I have been into Halloween and Christmas cards lately.  So I went with an older retired DSP called Autumn Vine as my starting point.  Here's the card I made. I have been wanting to use Perfect Blend but hadn't gotten around to it yet, so I thought it would be perfect for a fall card.  Here's the details. 1.  Used Chocolate Chip as my card base.  Stamped sploches from Gorgeous Grundge with Early Espresso on it. 2.  Added two layers of DSP from Autumn Vine .  The layer under the banner has small polka dots that didn't show in this picture.  I made the banner for the top layer of DSP using my Hexagon punch. 3.  Stamped the coffee cup three times.  One on Very Vanilla, one on the polka dot DSP and one on a third design of DSP.  I cut out the first coffee cup as my base

It's Monday and time for a new Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Mary Jo at Technostamper.  She has another great sketch this week, I took one look and knew just what I wanted to do! This sketch has so many possibilities!  I went with Festive Flurry since I got the new Silver 1/8" ribbon and needed a reason to use it! Isn't this set just great with the sketch!  I think these colors, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party are just gorgeous together and perfect for snowflakes.  Let me walk you through the basic details. 1.  Chose the new Winter Frost DSP pack as my starting point.  Went with Pool Party as my card base and Bermuda Bay as the accent color. 2.  Added a layer of the DSP to the front of my card along with a strip of Bermuda Bay measuring 1 3/4" x 4".  The silver ribbon was tied onto the Bermuda Bay before I adhered it to the card. 3.  Stamped two snowflakes, the larger one in Bermuda Bay, the smaller in Pool Party.  I fussy cut these because I liked having less white

Flashback Friday: Halloween Treats

Image
Welcome to Flashback Friday!! This week we are traveling back to 2006-2007 for a couple of cute Halloween sets.  I used both to make fun treats to hand out to the kids.  Here's the stamps first. This first set is Booglie Eyes from 2006.  I loved this set and used it a lot when I first got it.  It was definitely time to pull it off the shelf and make something new with it! The second set I used is called Trick or Treat from 2007.  I loved this one too, especially the greeting. Now here are the treats I made, turning the gift card holder into a treat holder. Aren't these fun!  Let me give you more details about each.  First I will show you more about  Frankie.  I made theses gift card holders and shared directions HERE .  I had a light bulb go off one day and decided to use the same design as a Halloween Treat.  The small packages of candies that are out fit perfectly in the center.  For these treats I used the packaged candy corns. Here is the inside of the second treat holder.

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.  This week is a sketch challenge, take a look. What a great sketch!  I have been working with Color Me Christmas a lot lately, so I used it for this sketch as well. I am just loving this super cute stamp set!  Here's all the details about how this card came together. 1.  Chocolate Chip card base that is slightly smaller than the norm.  4" x 11", embossed with the new Stylish Stripes EF.   A layer of Cherry Cobbler card stock added measuring at 4 1/4" x 3 3/4" to make it hang over the card base on each side. 2.  A Whisper white layer on top of the Cherry Cobbler with a banner and arrow from the Season of Style DSP pack at the bottom.  Merry Christmas from Petite Pairs stamped above the DSP with Cherry Cobbler ink. 3.  Focal point added using Color Me Christmas. Stamped the cute reindeer with StazOn Black ink on Whisper White then die cut with the scallop circle from the new Circle Fl

It's Monday, time for a new Lunchtime Sketch challenge!  I used Color me Christmas again this week, I am just loving this cute set!  First let me show you the sketch Mary Jo gave us. I have been into simple cards, so this sketch was perfect for me!  Here's the card I made.  I really enjoyed making this card, I got to use my glossy card stock that I miss so much!  The card base is Whisper White, but the stamped images are on glossy white.  I stamped them with StazON Black and cut them out.  They were colored in with a blender pen and ink pads.  I love how bright and happy the images turned out!  I didn't want the card to feature only traditional Christmas colors, so I threw in Pacific Point to add a little kick!  Once all the images were colored and cut out, I added them to the right side of the card with dimensionals.  But first, I paper pierced a straight line down the card and added Candy Dots to follow the sketch.  I stamped Merry Christmas from Teeny Tiny Wishes with Re

Flashback Friday: Twick or Tweet

Happy Friday!  Time for another flashback for Halloween!!  This week I am featuring a super cute set from 2009 called Twick or Tweet.  I just loved this set the moment I saw it!  Take a look. Isn't this just the cutest set?! I am loving the new Circle Flip Card Thinlet, so I decided to do a fun flip card. This card uses the thinlet, but in a different way.   I got the instructions from Sandi MacIver , she is so clever! Here's the inside so you can see how it differs from the original shape. I used a retired DSP as well for this card.  Let me walk you through the basic steps.  To see the tutorial from Sandi, click HERE . 1.  Cut a piece of Basic Black card stock 4 1/4" x 11".  Adhered a piece of DSP 2" x 4 1/8" to the left side. 2.  I scored the card stock at 7" so I knew where my folded over piece would be.  Then I added a piece of Whisper White card stock 3 3/4" x 4" to the center of the card by lining up the right side of the paper to my sc

It's Thursday again and time for a new Create with Connie and Mary Challenge! This week I have a fun card using the new Festive Flurry.  Before I show you my card, let's look at the colors. And here is the flip card I made. This is my first card using the new Flip Thinlet and I love it!  So much fun and so much easier than the flip cards I have done in the past.  Here's the details: 1.  Cut a card base of Soft Sky with the Circle Flip Thinlet.  My card stock measured 5 1/2" x 6". 2.  I cut Whisper White card stock with the thinlet as well so I could add stamped panels to the card.  I didn't have any DSP in Soft Sky, so I made my own with the snowflakes. 3.  I cut two Wisteria Wonder circles using the Circles Framelits and added one to each side of the flipping circle.    I also stamped a Wisteria Wonder snowflake on Whisper White and used the scalloped circle die that came with the Flip Thinlet.  Added a bit of bling to the snowflake with a Frosted Finishes em

Today is the beginning of a new journey for me, I am a new Design Team member for Try Stampin' On Tuesday!  I am really excited to be on the team and create a card to share with you every other Tuesday.  For this week's sketch I used the fun new set Color Me Christmas.  First, let me show you the sketch for the week.
