Birthday Card for LNS Challenge #211

Image
Today's card is for the LNS Challenge #211, all about birthdays.  I have really missed the chalkboard technique so I decided to go with that.  I did a banner and a simple birthday greeting for my card, super fun and super easy! I went with a pretty simple layout since the DSP was so bold.  I used the birthday greeting from Perfectly Penned with a chalk line around the edges to balance out the bright circus DSP that I got off the clearance rack .  I joined the banner pieces together with Cherry Cobber Bakers Twine and attached the banner to the card with dimensionals.  Bright, cheery and fun to put together, can't ask for better than that! Thanks so much for visiting! Tomorrow is Friday, so I'll be sharing a flashback card, be sure to come back! If it doesn't move...stamp it!!! Nicole Tugrul Independent Stampin' Up! Chalkboard Technique Tutorial

Image
After the huge response from stampers wanting to know more about the chalkboard technique, I put together a picture tutorial for you. SUPPLIES: Versamark White Embossing Powder Embossing Buddy Basic Black card stock (mine is cut 3 3/4 x 4 1/2) White watercolor pencil White Craft Ink and sponge Stamps of your choice And here is the completed card.  The card base is Island Indigo with a layer of Sycamore Street DSP. The stamps I used for this card came from multiple sets, that's actually part of the fun! I like to piece together different greetings and images from multiple stamp sets.  For this particular card I used Party This Way, Outlined Occasions, Word Play, and Up, up and Away.  Here is a second card made at the same time. I made the same chalkboard set up except I switched the candle and greeting at the bottom. I also completed the last two chalkboard pieces I had made over the weekend, here they are. The stamps I used for these two cards and the cards I posted yeste...

More Chalkboard Technique Cards

There certainly is a lot of interest in this super cool technique!!  I made several other cards this last weekend, I used mostly retired products.  After all the interest in the card from yesterday, I am going to put together a picture tutorial this afternoon to post tomorrow.  Now, on with the samples! This first card is a Valentine (of course!) that is from retired sets that I thought were PERFECT for this technique.  A great thinking of you card using an old color...Taken with Teal.  The lines between the greetings is actually a flower stem! I will post the names of the retired stamps tomorrow with the tutorial.   This is one of my favorites, uses paper from Sycamore Street DSP in the upcoming Sale-a-bration catalog. And this is last but not least!  Also uses Taken with Teal and retired DSP.  So, as you can see I went pretty crazy with this technique over the weekend!  It's pretty easy to make a lot at one time, just do all the "chalkboard...

Chalkboard technique...I'm hooked!

Image
I took a break from Oh, Whale! cards to try out the chalkboard technique that everyone is doing.  I am now officially HOOKED! It is soooo much fun! I made at least 8 different cards using both new and retired products. This first card is mostly new.  I used Vintage Verses from the upcoming Sale-a-bration catalog, works just great for this technique!  I added in a couple small retired greeting to fill the space in the middle.  It was still needing something, so I added a heart with a gem.  I added shadowing with white watercolor pencil and white craft ink.  The base of the card is simply Crumb cake with a layer of honey comb embossed Baja Breeze.  Thanks for stopping by! More chalkboard cards to come, check back! If it doesn't move..stamp it!! Nicole Tugrul Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator
