Chase the Clouds Away for TSSC299

Image
Happy Monday!  It's time for a new Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Technostamper.  As usual Mary Jo has a great sketch for us, take a look. I went with a fairly simple card and tried out a design idea that my stamping friend Lisa Rhine did. Not too long ago Lisa did a card with a sun and I have been waiting for an opportunity to do one of my own.  I think the stamp "you make me happy when skies are gray" is so sweet.  It's in the Sale-a-bration catalog which is only one day away!!  I wanted to pair the sentiment with clouds and a sun and keep it crisp looking.  First was the circle with clouds made by sponging Soft Sky ink over a cloud shape.  Guess what I used?  The Word Bubbles Framelits has a perfectly shaped cloud!  In a previous post is a picture showing how I sponge the ink, you can find it HERE . Next I assembled my sun.  I used Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper, it has a piece just perfect for a sun.  The paper ...

A Fun Birthday Card

Image
I have another preview card for you today, a fun birthday card using See Ya Later.  I love this Sale-a-bration set, it has a little bit of everything!  When I saw that Catherine and Cathy Create had a birthday challenge, I knew that See Ya Later was the stamp set to go with. Isn't this a fun design!  I wanted to use Birthday Basics DSP and the candles seemed like the right one for this card.  My card color palette was based off the colors in the DSP.  I used Bermuda Bay, Raspberry Ripple, and Smokey Slate. I really had fun doing the offset card design for my Thursday Color Challenge card , so I thought I'd do another for this card.  The layering is different than I normally do, there's a lot going on there! 1.  I die cut a circle in Bermuda Bay to layer behind the greeting.  The greeting was stamped with Bermuda Bay and die cut with a Deco Label framelit. 2. I next added in a Raspberry ripple banner that I made by cutting a strip of card stock an...

You Make Me Happy for CCMC284

Happy New Year!  I hope you all had a safe and happy holiday!!  Today I have a clean and simple card to share that I made for this week's challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  We have a bold color challenge this week, take a look at our colors. I love the bright bold colors and felt that a clean and simple card was the way to go.  I used See Ya Later and Banner Blast from the upcoming Sale-a-bration catalog. I love how the bold colors look against the Whisper White background with Black matting.  The banners across the left are so fun, alternating colors with Extra Large Rhinestone Gems in between. The greeting was stamped with Black StazOn in the lower right corner.  I stamped "happy" with Strawberry Slush and die cut it with the largest banner from Itty Bitty Banners and placed it on with dimensionals.  The sides needed trimmed just a little for it to fit perfectly.  A little tip for you, use the Chalk Marker to correct a small boo boo....

See Ya Later Alligator!

For this week's Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge I made a card using new products.  I just LOVE new stamps to play with!  First let me show you the sketch. I have used products from both Sale-a-bration and the new Occasions Catalog.  I am so looking forward to SAB, my favorite time of the stamping year!  Here's a look at upcoming products. I went with a color scheme of Soft Suede, Pool Party, Whisper White and a splash of Real Red.  The stamp is from the SAB catalog, a set called See Ya Later.  I divided the stamp into two pieces.  The image in the top left corner was colored in with my ink pad and marker. The bottom part of the stamp was used for the lower right image on the card. I like the greeting being separated, thought it worked well with the sketch.  The flowers are from the new Petite Petals punch in the Occasions Catty.  I did not use the coordinating stamps for the punch, I simply punched out DSP.  Speaking of DSP,...
