Delightful Dijon

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop !  August is all about the new IN COLORS and today we are featuring DELIGHTFUL DIJON! I used Lighthearted Leaves again this week, it's just too fabulous in Delightful Dijon! How stunning is this Mini Treat Bag card!  The golden tone of Delightful Dijon is perfect for fall and these gorgeous leaf stamps. I almost went with this as just a treat bag, but changed my mind!  In the end, I felt this would be a gorgeous way to tell everyone at Thanksgiving how grateful I am for them by leaving this on their dinner plates. The leaves were done with the emboss resist technique, one leaf in Delightful Dijon and one in Soft Suede.  The sentiment was stamped in the bold Early Espresso which compliments Delightful Dijon nicely. I also added in a few golden details, the Gold Metallic Thread and a few sequins....they are perfect finishing touches! Now it’s time to check out what the rest of the Design Team has for us today, I know it...

Fun Birthday Gift Cards

Image
Today I have two fun little birthday gift cards I made with You're My Hero.  These are perfect for tucking into a gift bag for a little boy.  The size of the cards is 3x3.  I like to do these every so often, they are quick and fun since there is less space to fill.  You're My Hero is a perfect set for this.  I love the weeeooo-weeeooo stamp, it looks great at the bottom of the cards.  Here are the cards individually. This first card has the police car colored with Markers.  I stamped it on a separate piece of Whisper White and cut it out.  The new Chevron Ribbon is too cool and looks great behind the car.  I adhered it directly to the card with SNAIL and then added the car using dimensionals. On this second card, I stamped the ambulance in Daffodil Delight instead of using markers.  I like this look too.  It's much simpler if you need to make several cards.  I set the rest of it up the same as the first with the ribbon and addi...

See it Again Saturday

Image
The weekend is here!  We are having hot and humid weather here in Ohio, all the more reason to stamp!  Today I have a card that is a re-do of a layout from last week.  I really loved the design that I came up with for my Thursday Create with Connie and Mary color challenge using Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit, and Early Espresso.  You can click HERE to go back to my post for the original card.  I used different colors and changed the design slightly, check out the new version. Don't you just love the Smokey Slate paired with Coastal Cabana??  I do!  This is a wedding card, it is June after all.  I didn't want it to be too girly, so these colors really fit the bill.  As far as re-designing goes, I changed a couple things slightly.  Besides the colors, I made the Window Framelit die cut the next size up.  To get the mosaic pattern, I first stamped my pattern on a square piece of CS then die cut with the framelit.  This not only...

Flashback Friday: By Land

Image
Welcome to another Flashback Friday!  This week we travel to 2006 for the cute Definitely Decorative set called By Land.  I figured I'd use this set since I've been doing a lot of car cards this week.  Here is the stamp set, there was a matching tire track wheel as well. I have been really into Smokey Slate, so I used it again.  But this time I paired it with Pumpkin Pie.  I love how the two colors look together, a very good combo for a little boy birthday card. I combined the old with the new and I love how it updated this stamp set.  The card base is pumpkin pie.  One of the reasons I chose it was because I already had an extra card base ready to go!  I embossed a piece of Basic Gray with the Chevron EF for the bottom of the card.  For the car, I stamped it and cut out the pieces.  I wanted the image to look really crisp, so stamping with the ink pad verses coloring with markers just provided a better image.  I fussy cut the car a...

You're my Hero...Again!

Image
Today I have another fun birthday card to share using You're My Hero.  I am still into the blues and grays, I tried to use other colors but couldn't! If you haven't noticed, I am also into using banners on my cards lately.  Today it's a very large Smokey Gray banner.  The cute police card is stamped all over the banner along with weeeooo-weeeooo.  I stamped off once to mute the color a bit.  The card base is Pacific Point embossed with the Chevron EF.  I attached the banner then added in a greeting.  The police card under the greeting was stamped off twice to make it very light.  I wanted the greeting to really stand out.  I have the greeting popped up and Pacific point Candy Dots added to the ends.  I also added Real Red Candy Dots on the police cars for a pop of color.  Another card that was quick to put together but looks super cute!  Keep coming back, more to come with this set and Rev Up the Fun. Thanks for stopping by!...

You're My Hero Birthday Card

Image
Welcome back!  Today I have a card to share using the fun new set called You're My Hero.  Now that I have two little boys, my girl stamp sets are getting dusty!  I am having lots of fun stamping race cards and fire trucks from the great new sets we have available. I made this card for almost 4 year old.   Ben's birthday is a little over a month away so I figured I'd get a jump on things!  He is all boy and loves to say weeeooo-weeeooo when playing with his fire truck, so I had to make him this card!  The base is Real Red (no embossing again!) with a few simple elements added.  The fire truck is stamped with StazOn black then die cut with the Circles Framelits.  I lightly colored the truck with my Aqua Painter and ink pad, didn't want it to be a crazy dark red.  Lastly I did a series of banners that were stamped with the greeting.  I also added in the weeooo's to the card base, thought it needed a little something extra.  This w...

Rev Up the Fun!

Image
Today I have a really fun card to share using Rev Up the Fun from the new catalog.  This card was designed for a very special reason....I am a Guest Designer for the Create with Connie and Mary Summer Collection 2013 !  How cool is that!!  I have been designing a card for Create with Connie and Mary each week as a Thursday Challenge Team member and I just love it!  Now I get the chance to design more than a card...I have a very fun 3D project that I have designed exclusively for this Summer Collection.  First let me go ahead and show you today's card, then I will fill you in on all the details about the Summer Collection. Here is my rev'd up birthday pop up card. I think this stamp set if so much fun!  For this card I used the race car.  I picked bold colors, Real Red, Pacific Point, Basic Black, Smokey Slate, Basic Gray, and Whisper White.  The front of the card is two die cut circles using the new framelits, one with the focal point and one to a...
