A Valentine Anniversary

Image
When I saw this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch,  I knew exactly what to make.  Each year I make a Valentine Anniversary card for my In Laws, it's so sweet that they chose Valentine's Day!  They have been married for 55 years...so amazing!!! I took one look at this sketch and saw a giant heart in the middle.  What do you think of my idea? The Fresh Prints Paper Pack is just PERFECT for Valentines!  I think the color combo of Real Red and Coastal Cabana is just fantastic so the polka dot paper had to be the background.  The card just made itself from there.  I continued on layering the two colors.  The card base is Real Red with a layer of Coastal Cabana.  The DSP came next, then a Coastal Cabana banner.  Look closely at the photo below to see the Washi tape that is layered on the banner.  I wanted to the arrows to be part of the card, so layering it on Coastal Cabana was a way to add it to the DSP without looking too busy. A Soft and Pretty Annniversary Card

Today's share is a card a did a few weeks ago.  I had planned on showing something new today, but got a last minute order for 20 bridal shower cards that needed to be done ASAP.  So, today's share is an anniversary card done in Soft Sky. I wanted to try out the idea of a card with dimension in a different way.  I stamped the focal point on Whisper White and adhered it to the Soft Sky card base.  I cut out a space with the Window Framelit on a second piece of Soft Sky then embossed it with the Lacy Brocade EF.  I attached it to the front of the card using dimensionals to make sure it was popped up.  Last I added my greeting.  I love the monochromatic look and softness of the card.  It turned out just as I planned!! Here is a second card done in the same manner with a different focal point.  I hope you liked the cards shown today!  Tomorrow I will try to have something new to show you! If it doesn't move...stamp it!!! Nicole Tugrul Indepen...

See it Again Saturday

I have a couple more St. Patrick's Day cards that I made for Laura to share today.  I used a couple of previous layouts from cards you've seen recently.  Let's look at card one. This first card is inspired by this  Bloomin' Marvelous card I shared in January for a LNS challenge, click HERE to re-visit that post.   The original card had a Window Framelit framing the greeting.  The new version of the card uses circles from my 1" circle punch layered behind the white card stock.  For the St. Patrick's Day theme I used Pear Pizzaz as my green, I love the softness of this color.  Here is the second card that I re-designed for a St. Patrick's Day Anniversary card. This card is pretty much a direct copy of the Anniversary card I recently posted using Bloomin' Marvelous and a Crumb Cake and Coral color combo.  This is the original card, you can see the blog post HERE . As you can see, I copy every aspect of the original, just exchanged the shamrock for t...

Something Green for LNS Challenge 212

Today's card was actually a special request I had from a customer.  She got married last year on St. Patrick's Day so she wanted a special card to reflect that for her first anniversary.  It just so happens that this card fits in with the LNS Challenge for the week, Celebrating St. Patrick's Day.  I made a total of 3 cards for Laura to choose from, one I am sharing today and you will see the other two on Saturday.  Here is the card she picked. As soon as I finished this card, I knew it was the winner.  I liked the other two cards, but this one just stood out for me.  I used Old Olive as the card base, embossed with Lacy Brocade.  The doily was just something from my everything drawer that I've had forever, not the Stampin' Up! doilies from the Spring Catalog.  The ribbon is Pear Pizzaz seam binding that I got from the Clearance Rack a couple weeks ago, looked great with the Old Olive.  I stamped the scallop heart from the Hearts a Flutter Bu...
