Butterflies Galore

Image
It's the time of year when we start looking forward to spring, especially those of us in the frigid cold areas of the country.  In Ohio we are experiencing the polar freeze and have wild chill temps around -25!  So to get away from the cold I stamped a beautiful butterfly card with the gorgeous new Butterfly Gala stamp set. For color inspiration, I looked to the Sale-a-bration catalog .  The Designer Series Paper Botanical Butterfly is full of beautiful colors.  The blues and purple stood out so Highland Heather and Balmy Blue became my color palette. The stamp used for this card has a small butterfly over a larger butterfly.  I created a pattern by stamping the butterflies in rows.  All of the small butterflies are colored with Highland Heather Stampin' Blends and the larger are done with Balmy Blue .  The lighter of each color is in the center with darker shading around the edges. With all that was going on in the background, I needed something to make my sentiment st...

Lovely Anniversary

Image
My In Laws have an big deal anniversary coming up so I sat down today and created a card for them using Forever Lovely . I wanted a little bit of everything from the All My Love Suite on this card.  The All My Love Designer Series Paper comes in a strip of color along the left side.  I also added in a tiny bit of bling with the white glimmer paper from the Magic & Myths Glimmer paper on the clearance rack . The sentiment is so gorgeous in Lovely Lipstick.   Lately this has most definitely become one of my favorite and most used inks.  The die cuts from the Lovely Flowers Edgelits Dies add more color and dimension.  I love how beautiful all the products melt together and create an amazing look.  Did you notice the bit of sentiment cut out on Flirty Flamingo card stock ?  This is from the Well Said Bundle on page 27.  Since this is an anniversary card, I wanted to change up the original sentiment to include the word anniversary.  Well Said is just the set and I must say that t...

Inspiring New Cling Stamps!

Image
The new Occasions Catalog not only brings amazing products to create with, but an easier way to do it!!  It's the new CLING STAMPS that make stamping with red rubber easier!  All of the clear block rubber stamps that I've gotten over the last few years have never had the stickers added.  I found that the stickers kept the stamps from staying on the clear block.  Well those days are over!  Stampin' Up! has introduced new CLING STAMPS that stay on the block with the stickers on!  They have started out with quite a few of the new stamps having this cling sticker and I am super excited about it.  I tried out one of the stamps and have a card and tip to share with you.  This card uses the Sale-a-Bration set called PART OF MY STORY.   I loved the sentiments in this set immediately, very sweet and very useful!  With this set having the new cling stickers, I thought I'd show you how I use mine.  The stickers are quite tacky, so getting them off the block without damage is para...

Cool Treats for CCMC452

Image
I've been on a break for the last two months, but I'm starting to post cards again since I love stamping so much!  I've teamed up again with Create with Connie and Mary for the challenges they do on Thursdays and this week we have a beautiful color challenge. So Saffron, Peek-a-boo Peach and Sahara Sand are gorgeous together, especially with spring starting.  I went with COOL TREATS and created a yummy orange creamsicle card. Peek-a-boo Peach is such a delicious color for COOL TREATS ice cream cones.  All of my family love orange creamsicle ice cream so this color combination was an easy one to work with. I created a melted ice cream background using watercolor paper and an aqua painter with the Peek-a-boo Peach ink pad.  A few die cut sprinkles add some fun and we all know I love sprinkles and confetti!  Lastly, the sentiment was stamped on slender banners to layer below the ice cream. For more ideas using these beautiful colors, stop by Create with Connie and Mary .  We...

Color Fusers Blog Hop: February 2017

Image
Welcome to the February 2017 Color Fusers Blog Hop!  Each month we work with a group of colors to bring you inspiration.  Check out the fabulous colors we have to work with this month. We only have to use three of the colors, but I love the challenge of using all four!  I was able to pull it off using the fun COOL TREATS bundle from the Occasions Catalog.   It ended up being quite easy to incorporate all the colors with this stamp set.  It all started with the Peekaboo Peach paper from the TASTY TREATS Specialty DSP .  It provided a wonderful background to work with. Lots of details went into the rest of the card.  A fun sundae was placed in a set of circles and surrounded by the sentiment.  I love how the sentiment circles around the focal point.  It's a unique way to do a greeting for sure!  I had originally placed the words in a zig zag pattern but really loved it when I thought to put it along the top and bottom. I hope you've enjoyed this COOL TREATS idea!  It was so muc...

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION! I got to use a set for today that I think is super cute and has so many variation possibilities..... CAKE CRAZY. I wanted the card to be bold and bright, so I took color inspiration from FESTIVE BIRTHDAYS DSP.  I added in a little bling for sparkle and love the boost it gives the card.  The colors are gorgeous, but the rhinestones give that little extra something.  Definitely a fun birthday card to brighten up someone's day. Image

It's a Sale-a-bration!

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is IT'S A SALE-A-BRATION! It's time to Sale-a-brate, so we are sharing ideas with NEW Sale-a-bration sets!  I personally LOVE all of the sets, but the first one that was on my wish list was TASTY TRUCKS. Isn't this just too much fun!  I saw this cute truck and had to have it! The background is a bunch of tacos which were colored with watercolor pencils and a versa marker.  The truck is popped up on dimensionals on top along with a fun sombrero that I cut out of the Festive Birthday papers.  The truck is done with watercolor pencils as well.  I love how nicely they color!!!  They are a real must have from the NEW Occasions Catalog! Another must have, the JANUARY MINI SESSION from Create with Connie and Mary!!  We have ALL NEW SETS in this session!!! Items we are using in January Mini Session: Hey Chick (SAB) Dragonfly Dreams Suite Nailed It Suite Sending Love Bundle Lift M...

Oh So Succulent

Image
Along with everyone else, I am in love with SUCCULENTS!  And Stampin' Up! is right in line with the trends by bringing us the fabulous OH SO SUCCULENT Bundle in the new Occasions Catalog. This gorgeous bundle is perfect for cards and 3D items as well, a dream come true!!  My first card has been inspired by the sketch challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary . I love this sketch and thought the succulents bundle was a perfect fit! I actually combined several stamp sets to create this card.  As I've said before, Stampin' Up! sets coordinate beautifully!!!  I pulled the small mason jar from JAR OF LOVE.  I love having the succulents in a cute little container.  Plus this supplied one of the elements of the card sketch.  Next, the succulents came from OH SO SUCCULENT.  Each one has an outline stamp and a solid stamp to add color and dimension.  And finally, the sentiment is from LIVE,LOVE,GROW. Did you notice the gorgeous designer paper??  It coordinates with the Succulent...
