Eat, Drink and Give Thanks!

Image
Thursday is here so I have a card to share for this week's sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary. These colors are just perfect for Thanksgiving and fall.  I just got Holiday Invitation and I knew exactly what I wanted to do. It's been forever since I've made a card with the Scallop Tag Topper closure and I knew this set would work perfectly with this style. Blackberry Bliss is such a rich, deep color so I used it for the card base.  I punched the scallop edges and scored the card to give me a good size front panel to stamp on.  A layer of Hello Honey went on the panel first, then a layer of Whisper White. The sentiment went on the paper first in Blackberry Bliss.  "Give Thanks" got stamped one word at a time to stack them.  Having this set in photopolymer makes both inking and stamping them individually a breeze!  Once the sentiment was in place, I stamped and die cut two pumpkins from Fall Fest and placed them in the center....perfect fit! Halloween Petite Cafe Bag

Image
Halloween treat holders are one of my favorite 3D items to create, so  I was excited to see the challenge from Try Stampin' on Tuesday this week.  The sketch we have is for an item other than a card, so Petite Cafe Bag it is!  The cool thing is, you could use this sketch for a card, so I may have to do that too later in the week! I have been into Fall Fest lately, so I went ahead and used it for my bag along with Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper. Is this cute or what!!  I just love these kinds of projects that come together so easily and are so fun to give away!  I put candies in the bag and it's ready to go for the holiday.  It was simple to make, here's the steps: - Added a strip of Motley Monsters Designer Paper to the bottom - stamped three pumpkins with Tangerine Tango on Whisper White and die cut with framelits - stamped "happy" from Age Awareness with Jet Black Staz On - stamped "halloween" with Rotary Alphabet stamp on Tangerine Tango, crea...

Fall Fest

I have a second card to share today, this one is for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  Here's a look at the sketch Mary Jo has for us this week. My card features Fall Fest and Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper. I had SOOOOOO much fun with this card!!  The ghost is just too cute for words and super easy to make.  He's just die cut from Whisper White with a couple of googly eyes and a small black mouth drawn in with marker.  I paired him with a simple pumpkin and a great background of designer paper. After all the designer paper layers and focal point were in place, I added a couple of little details.  First, the sentiment from Ghoulish Greetings.  "Happy haunting" is the PERFECT sentiment for this card.  I stamped it directly on the card base with Staz On.  Lastly, spooky eyes from Freaky Friends are stamped around the card in Tangerine Tango to match the spooky eyes on the designer paper next to the ghost. I hope you are inspired by this...
