Painted Thank You

Image
Painted Petals is such a beautiful stamp set, I thought I share a pretty card with it today.  There's a great sketch challenge at Try Stampin' -or not- on Tuesday that was perfect for what I had in mind. As soon as I saw this sketch, I thought about small flowers in place of the stars. I just love the colors on this card!!  Crisp Cantaloupe is leaving us soon so I had to use it combined with Calypso Coral and Wild Wasabi.  Crumb Cake wood paneling makes a perfect background for this gorgeous trio of colors. The flowers on the panel are made lighter by stamping off once, makes the Calypso Coral sentiment and flowers stand out all the more. If you are in need of a soft and pretty thank you card, I hope you are inspired to use Painted Petals!  While you're at it, why not join the challenge with us??  Just go to Try Stampin' for all the details and more great samples from the Design Team. Thanks for hanging out with me today!  See you next time! SHOP anytim...

Crazy About You Mom!

Image
Guess what??  NO shaker card today!! Can you believe it??  Instead I have a sweet and soft card for the sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary. I  went pretty literal with this sketch and used the flower from Crazy About you as my focal point. Can I just say how AWESOME this stamp set is?!  You have every greeting you could ever want or need!  On top of it, you get a couple of great flowers and leaves to boot!  Since Mother's Day will be here before we know it, I went ahead and made a card for my Mom. I love Sahara Sand with Pink Pirouette, so this card focuses on those two colors.  For a little dimension, I made the flower in three layers and added embossing to the Sahara Sand. Something Borrowed was the perfect designer paper for this card with it's beautiful subtle look.  For balance, another splash of pink lines the left side.  I pulled the polka dots from Painted Petals, it was the perfect touch! If you need more card ideas, I...

Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop: An Experiment with Watercolor

Image
Welcome to another Saturday Blog Hop!  This week the team is featuring one of the stamp sets they will be using for Card "Create"tions Celebrations 2015. You should be arriving from Melissa's fabulous blog Rubberfunatics , she has such amazing ideas to share!  If you are just starting here, be sure to hop all the way around so you don't miss a thing!  Now onto my cards for today!  Yes...I said cards, there are FOUR to share! As you may know if you were here yesterday, I am doing a card set for Card "Create"tions with From the Garden.  I've been playing around with it a bit and today I am sharing what I call my Watercolor Experiment. Watercolor is something I don't typically do, it's definitely out of my comfort zone.  But, every once in a while I feel the need to pull out my watercolor paper and give it a try.  With there being so many small stamps in From the Garden, I wanted to find a way to be different and make them stand out.   I tried c...

Spring Collection 2015 Week 2 Blog Hop!

Image
It's hard to believe, but we are at the end of the second week of the Spring Collection 2015 from Create with Connie and Mary .  As with each week, we do a blog hop on Saturday to showcase the set we used for our project.  If you started at the beginning, you should be arriving from Melissa's blog .  I loved her project for this week!  She is just too clever! My project for this week featured From the Garden and Handpicked Framelits on page 20 of the Occasions Catalog.  This set can easily be over looked, but I saw potential as I love to garden!  I had so much fun making my Create project and love the way it turned out!  I had just as much fun creating cards to share with you today.  In fact, I made THREE cards, each one is just a little different.  All of the cards are on a Whisper White card base with flowers from Painted Petals stamped in Marina Mist. For the first card, I added a tag with the sentiment on a banner.  Under the tag is ...

Painted Blooms for CCMC339

Image
It's Thursday and time for a challenge from Create with Connie and Mary .  This week we have a really cool sketch to work with, take a look. I love the stripes on this sketch and immediately thought of Designer paper as I'm sure you have.  I pulled out Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper and picked out a beautiful pattern of blues and pinks. I really love Marina Mist, it's such a rich and beautiful color.  On this card it pairs beautifully with the designer paper and the Garden Green behind the focal point. Here's a quick breakdown of how the card came together. 1.  Stamped a Marina Mist card base with the trio of flowers from Painted Petals.  I stamped off once with Marina Mist before stamping on the cardstock. 2.  Cut strips of designer paper measuring 3/4" x 4 1/4".  Layered them along the bottom of the card with a small space in between. 3.  Cut a piece of Garden Green cardstock measuring 2 1/2" x 3 1/2".  Stamped stems and flowers with...

Preview Week Day 3!

Image
Welcome back!  We are on day 3 of Preview Week for the Spring Collection 2015 from Create with Connie and Mary .  I absolutely LOVE the new catalog and have a really fun project to share today. The new Mini Treat Bag Thinlet Die is a must have for so many reasons.  Here's a great example of a quick little gift that can be put together in s short amount of time. I made this bag quickly with just a few supplies.  The bag is made with the new Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper.  This paper is to die for!! I love all the beautiful patterns.   It took me a minute to choose a design for my bag, I couldn't decide! To make the bag, you need (1) piece of 6 x 6 paper and (1) piece of 3 x 6.  Simply run them through with the bag thinlet and adhere with Fast Fuse tape.  I only added a couple of embellishments to the front, the paper is bold and doesn't need much added.  I grabbed a doily, folded it in half and stamped a sentiment from Painted Peta...
