How About a Simple Card Today??

Image
I did lots of shaker cards last week, some were more work than others.  I needed a break, so today I went with super clean and simple.  My inspiration?? Well, Freshly Made Sketches had a fabulous sketch, so I ran with it! Indescribable Gift is a gorgeous stamp set, one which has sat on my shelf waiting patiently to be used.  It turned out to be the best set for this card, I love how soft and pretty it is. Gorgeous don't you think!  It has a soft focus sort of look that I just love.  But I do have a confession to make........ I used my blendabilities to color this image.  I just had to, I bought this set with them in mind.  The clouds around the blossoms are my favorite little touch.  This was done easily with Soft Sky ink and a stampin' sponge.  Just die cut the cloud shaped word bubble and sponge around lightly for a beautiful cloudy sky. As far as the sentiment goes, I kept it super simple as well.  I wanted it to be small so the blos...

Updates

I've got a couple of updates for you today, one of which is sad news.  So, lets go ahead and get the bad news over with first. Stampin' Up! has sadly decided to discontinue the Blendabilites line due to quality issues.  They have high standards and the manufacturer is unable to meet them.  I am sad to see the line go but understand that Stampin' Up! is all about quality and I appreciate that.  Not all of the markers are defective, but it was a growing problem due to the manufacturing process.  Even though the blendabilities are discontinued, the Memento Ink Pad and refill will still be available for purchase.  Now, let's move on to better news...how about some weekly deals and a new photopolymer set?? These are the new weekly deals for the week of March 10-16.  If you are interested in knowing more, just click on the item in the upper left column where they are scrolling and it will take you to it. And lastly, here is the newest photopolymer set Just K...

Cheerful Critters Birthday

Image
Welcome back!  Today I have a card to share for the sketch challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday .  Let's take a look at the sketch for this week. Cheerful Critters came to mind immediately when I saw this sketch.  I paired it with the new Sale-a-bration designer paper Best Year Ever. I went with a birthday theme and gave each critter a fun greeting.  This was such an easy card to stamp, I simply set all the critters on the paper where I wanted them then put the block over them for perfect placement!  That's one of the reason's I just LOVE photopoymer stamps! The critters were all colored with blendabilities, their shirts are all different shades of Coastal Cabana.  I layered them on a piece of Best Year Ever Designer paper.  The finishing touch on the card was a piece of Coastal Cabana ribbon from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack.  The ribbon is so gorgeous, it's a soft cotton and the color is fabulous! I hope you enjoyed today's Critter card! I ...

Wood You Be Mine?

Image
It's Monday and time for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge !!  As always Mary Jo has a fun sketch for us, take a look. I took a little liberty with this sketch and came up with a fun Valentine using Wood You Be Mine. I just LOVE this stamp set, it couldn't be cuter!!  In place of a rectangular design to the side of the circle, I put the lumberjack!!  I just had too much fun making this card!! The Early Espresso card base was embossed with the Woodgrain embossing folder then a piece of Adventure Bound Designer paper was added to the bottom.  Trees stamped with Garden Green ink on Garden Green cardstock were added behind the lumberjack and sentiment. The lumberjack was stamped on Whisper White then colored with blendabilities and fussy cut.   The sentiment was stamped on Crumb Cake cardstock and die cut with a Starburst framelit.  Last element was an ax that was done the same as the lumberjack, colored then fussy cut.  This turned out to be a re...

Football Dear Heart!

Image
It's Monday and time for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge!  Mary Jo always has awesome sketches for us.  Here's today's. I have been doing lots of Christmas cards lately and decided to change it up for this challenge.  I went back to a really cute set, Dear Heart. With the start of fall and football season, I thought this was the perfect card for today.  My little guy is loving the beautiful weather and having a blast playing ball outside.  So when I saw this sketch, I immediately saw three footballs for the circles. I kept the colors muted except for the bright leaves and sentiment.  The designer paper I used was Motley Monsters, it has some great patterns that have nothing to do with Halloween! The footballs were so fun to do, they are stamped on Cajun Craze with Early Espresso Ink.  Don't they look real?!  The little football player turned out great too.  I love coloring with the Blendabilities, they blend and color so well!  The...
