How about a FUN stamping trick!

Image
I'm slowly but surely making my way through new stamp sets, it's hard to put down favorites sometimes!  A WHOLE LOT OF LOVELY is a hostess set that caught my eye with it's beautiful bold sentiments. Combine this lovely sentiment with beautiful designer paper and you have one gorgeous card!  Wonder where the inspiration for this design came from??  Well, look no further than the fabulous sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary . Sometimes I need a little nudge when using a new set, sketch challenges are the perfect solution! The sentiment in Pear Pizzaz ink and cardstock stands out beautifully from the English Garden Designer Paper.  These colors are so beautiful and soft, I just love this combination!  Now look at the background, it has something unique....can you spot it?? Did you notice the butterflies??  If not, you'll notice them now!  A member of the Luv2Stamp group mentioned this idea on our Facebook group and I had to give it a try!  ( I couldn't f

Watercolor Wings

I have a confession to make......I am SERIOUSLY OBSESSED with WATERCOLOR WINGS!!  Any of you that have this stamp set know exactly what I'm talking about!  There are so many ways to make these gorgeous butterflies, I could sit at my desk and stamp all day! I used the small butterfly for the first time on my card for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  Before I get to all the details, let's look at the sketch. I have to admit, this sketch was definitely a challenge for me.....I had to sit and think awhile!  Once I pulled out Watercolor Wings, things got rolling. I went with my two new favorite In Colors, Watermelon Wonder and Tip Top Taupe for my main colors. I made the butterfly similar to the one I shared for the Single Stair Step Card Tutorial .  I started with a stamped off Sahara Sand base, added Blushing Bride then Watermelon Wonder.  The sentiment comes from a different set, Endless Thanks.  I liked the banner, it pairs nicely with the butterfly. Did you notice the bi

Envelope Paper Mini Treat Bag

Image
One thing I really love to do is find new ways to use a product.  We all want to get the most for our money and using an item for multiple purposes helps us do that.  My stamping friend Cindee Wilkinson used the new Envelope Paper with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlet and I just loved the idea!  She found another way to use the envelope paper and the treat bag, how cool!  I sat down and did a version of my own that I think you'll enjoy. Isn't this fun and happy!  I went with the wood grain pattern in Tip Top Taupe and added a pop of color with a flower made with the new Cotton Paper. Lisa Rhine, another great stamping friend, was my inspiration for the cotton flower.  It was super easy to make, maybe I should do a quick video to share....what do you think?? I also added in a sentiment with Hello You Thinlets, so there is NO stamping on this bag....just die cuts!  Sometimes it's fun to just sit and create with no stamps involved.  I really don't know how I ever lived without t

Perfect rainbow, right??!!  The stamp has just the right curve to fit over an oval framelit! One of the coolest things about this shadowbox is that it folds flat and fits into an envelope easy peasy!  The card is built from two pieces of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card

Over the Rainbow

Image
With all the rainy weather lately in Ohio, I needed a bit of a pick-me-up!  To the rescue was the FUN new stamp set OVER THE RAINBOW. This is one of those whimsical sets that you just can't help but smile about!  What inspired this happy design for today??  None other than the unique sketch at Try Stampin' -Or Not- On Tuesday. Isn't this a fun way to inspire creativity!  You can pick the photo or the sketch...or both!  I don't have anything beachy, so I used the sketch to bring my happy rainbow to life. As you can see, I did some serious paper piecing!  It took a bit of fussy cutting, but it was totally worth it! Clouds from Sprinkles of Life were a nice compliment and fit just right with a rainbow.  They were an easy addition, the coordinating punch meant no more fussy cutting for this card! Alright, now it's up to you to turn a little inspiration into a gorgeous card.  Why not give this week's sketch a try with me??  Just hop on over to Try Stampin' to ge
