Flashback Friday: Simple Birthday Thanks

Image
Welcome to Flashback Friday!  This week we travel back to 2008 for the fun stamp called Simple Birthday Thanks.  This was a large single stamp that was great for thank you cards and making giant cupcakes! I have used it for both purposes.  My favorite is making giant cupcake birthday cards.  Here's one of my favorites. Believe it or not, this card doesn't use any DSP!  I used regular card stock only, just added lots of texture!  I used the Perfect Polka Dots and Fancy Fan embossing folders to bring the card stock to life.  I simply stamped the cupcake onto the card stock StazOn blck Ink then cut it out by hand.    I added a bit of bling by adding rhinestone gems and a glittery red cherry.  The greeting is the retiring set Curly Cute.  I have made loads of these type cards for the bookstore that I sell at, and they are always gone in a flash!  I will be making more soon and will share them with you.  I hope you enjoyed the flashback to 2008 today! See you tomorrow for See it Ag

More Mosaic Madness For CCMC254

Image
It's time for another great challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  This week we have some great colors to work with. I am still on my Mosaic Madness kick.  Part of the reason I keep using this great new set is that I am working at my dining room table right now and not in my office due to Samuel.  It's much more convenient for me to be upstairs with him than drag him down to my craft room in the basement.  So..my supplies are limited, I couldn't bring everything up!  Anywho, this is what I came up with. The card base is Island Indigo, which believe it or not I did not emboss!  Instead I embossed the piece of Pool Party that I used as my first layer.  I added a layer of So Saffron with the greeting stamped in Island Indigo.  I stamped my mosaics and punched them out then added them using dimensionals.  I like the off set look to this card, something different! I hope you will join in the challenge too and create a card with the fantastic colors we have to work with this

I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day.  A huge thank you to all the men and women that serve in the military to protect out country, we appreciate all you do!   It's Monday and time for a new sketch for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge with Technostamper.  Here is this week's sketch. I haven't use my Dress Up framelits since I got my new catalog preview items, so I pulled them out for this week's card.  I still used new items, couldn't help myself!! Here's what I came up with. The card base is the new In Color Baked Brown Sugar.  I added a strip of the printed window sheet from the Quatrefancy Specialty DSP.  A piece of the new Crisp Cantaloupe was embossed with the Modern Mosaic EF and adhered over the specialty window sheet.  I was careful to place ahdesive on the window sheet so that it was hidden by the Crisp Cantaloupe CS.  The dress form was die cut out of Crumb Cake CS and I stamped a mosaic pattern from Modern Mosaic on it.  A piece of the re

Mosaic Madness in 3D

As I mentioned earlier, I have been working on a fun 3D project with the Mosaic Madness stamp set that I am obsessed with!  I have had so much fun using this set and wanted to make something I could look at every day... on my fridge!  Here's what I made. Using everyday, ordinary clothes pins I created fun magnetic refrigerator clips.  There are sooooo many possibilities with this project!   I went with the new Quatrefancy DSP as my color inspiration for this set, but I am definitely planning on a set with the new In Colors.  Here's a closer look at each magnetic clip. These clips are simple to make.  I cut a strip of DSP to cover the front of my clip.  The size of the paper will vary according to the clothespins you buy.  Different stores have different sizes.  I just put a thin strip of glue over the clothes pin then place the paper on.  I used the smallest of the Windows Framelits as my base for the focal point.  I free hand paper pierced around the framelit die cut then adde

See it Again Saturday

I have a fun new In Color creation to share today for See it Again Saturday.  I really loved the sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary this week, so I re-did the card I made Thursday.  Here is a look again at Thursday's card for CCMC253.  To see the post on this card, click HERE . I love the new In Colors, so I used three of them on the re-make card. I think these colors blend so beautifully!  I used Coastal Cabana,  Baked Brown Sugar, and Crisp Cantaloupe plus a dash of Soft Suede.  Just like the previous card, the base is embossed with Modern Mosaic EF.  I free hand stamped the mosaics on the Whisper White banner, love making patterns!  I added Crumb Cake taffeta ribbon which looks perfect with these colors.  The final piece is the greeting from Banner Greetings stamped in Soft Suede.  I hope you like my re-make as much as I do! Thanks for stopping by!! Check back tomorrow for the 3D Mosaic project that I talked about sharing this week. If it doesn't move...stamp

Flashback Friday

Image
It's Friday, time to flash back with another great retired stamp set.  Today I am featuring I Love Soccer which I believe is from 2006. I have seen a couple of cool cards using the Honeycomb EF to make a soccer ball background.  That is what inspired this flashback card. I used Whisper white as my card base and another piece of it embossed with the Honeycomb EF.  I also embossed a piece of Basic Black CS to cut out the individual hexagons.  I arranged my pattern then glued the pieces in place to complete the background.  I made a small banner with black and whtie CS and simply stamped the greeting with StazOn Black ink.  A soccer ball hand cut out completes the card.  This is a fun and simple card...love it! If it doesn't move...stamp it! Nicole Tugrul Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Mosaic Madness Birthday for CCMC253

It's Thursday, so we have a new challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary.  This week it's a great sketch challenge. I used Mosaic Madness for my card this week, can't put that set down! I went with bold colors and LOVE how this card turned out!  I used Rich Razzleberry for my card base, embossed with the Modern Mosaic EF.  I added in Bermuda Bay which looks amazing with the Razzleberry.  The mosaic pattern was stamped on Whisper White CS free hand.  Ribbon and a greeting complete the card.  I really love how the Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry compliment each other, just gorgeous! I hope you will join in the challenge too and create a card with the fantastic sketch we have for this week.  Just go to Create with Connie and Mary for more details and to link up your creation. Thanks for stopping by!! See you tomorrow for another Flashback Friday! If it doesn't move...stamp it!! Nicole Tugrul Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

New In Colors!

Image
This year with the new catalog we get new In Colors!!  I am really loving the colors we get this time around, they are gorgeous! I made 3x3 cards for you to see how gorgeous they really are. First up is Strawberry Slush. For this card, I used a layer of Whisper White embossed with the new Modern Mosaic Embossing folder.  I die cut a piece of the new Quatrefancy Specialty DSP with the Windows Framelits.  I also die cut Whisper White CS and stamped one of the mosaic stamps  with the Strawberry Slush.  The greeting stamp that I placed inside the mosaic is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and it fit perfectly!  I am loving this color, it's really yummy!  Let's move on to Crisp Canteloupe. For this card, I used several of the Mosaic Madness stamps to create a fun pattern.  I was using clear mount stamps, so I just free handed the stamping.  I added in a greeting using the new hostess set Banner Greetings.  This is a gorgeous color!  Let's check out the next on the list, Pistachio Pudding.

Mosaic Madness for TSSC264

It's Monday already and time for a new sketch for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge at Technostamper .  Here's a look at this week's sketch. I have been having a ton of fun using the new Mosaic Madness stamp set, so of course I used it for this challenge! My color inspiration came from the piece of Quatrefancy DSP that I picked.  The colors are Island Indigo, Pool Party, and Soft Sky.  The Island Indigo card base was embossed with the Modern Mosaic EF.  I added a layer of Soft Sky CS next.  Then I added in the design elements.  The DSP was layered over a strip of Island Indigo to make it pop.  I die cut a piece of Soft Sky CS with the smallest Window framelit and stamped a mosaic on it with Island Indigo.  I decided to make the mosaic pattern pop more by stamping with Island Indigo on Whisper White CS and cutting them out.  I adhered them to the originally stamped design with dimensionals.  I added small pearls to the center of each mosaic as a finishing touch.  I layer

See it Again Saturday: A Father's Day Card

Image
Time for another See it Again Saturday card layout.  This week I am doing a re-visit of this week's challenge card for Create with Connie and Mary .  Click HERE to go to the post from Thursday.  Here's another look at Thursday's card. I stuck with the same colors for my re-visit card.  Here's what I came up with. The card base is Sahara Sand embossed with the new Modern Mosaic EF.  I used one of the smaller stamps from Mosaic Madness to stamp inside the mosaic pattern with Sahara Sand ink to form a pattern. The focal point of the card is two layers of the window Framelits in Soft Suede and So Saffron.  I used the piercing template that matched from the Festive Paper Piercing Pack to form a border around each of the layers of CS. For this card I added the greeting as a banner across the framelit focal point.  I used the retired set Something to Celebrate.  The greeting is stamped with Soft Suede ink on a strip of Whisper White CS.  I used my 1"square punch on the

Flahback Friday : Thinking of Father

Image
Welcome to another Flashback Friday!  This week we journey back to 2004 for the stamp set Thinking of Father.  Here's a look at the set. I used a combination of old and new for this Father's Day card, take a look. The card base is Crumb Cake embossed with the new Modern Mosaic EF.  I stamped the largest image from the set in Soft Suede on Sahara Sand CS and die cut part of the image with the next to smallest Window Framelit.  I did a bit of layering, both of the Soft Suede layers were hand cut.  The Old Olive layer was die cut.   I added just a touch of color to the image with markers.  For the greeting, I just cut a strip of Sahara Sand CS and used the Father's Day greeting from Something to Celebrate (retired Hostess set from last year).  I made a banner out of the greeting by using my 1" square punch on the ends.  That's it! A simple card using an oldie but goodie and new items. Come back tomorrow for See it Again Saturday, I have a re-visit of Thursday's CC

Mosaic Madness for CCMC252

Thursday's here, so it's time for a new challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  This week we have a color challenge, check it out. I have been enjoying stamping with the new Mosaic Madness set from the upcoming catalog, so that's what I used for this challenge. The card base is Sahara Sand embossed with the new Modern Mosaic EF.  I used two of the smaller stamps from Mosaic Madness to stamp inside the mosaic pattern with Sahara Sand ink to form a pattern.  The focal point of the card is two layers of the window Framelits in Soft Suede and So Saffron.  I used the piercing template that matched from the Festive Paper Piercing Pack to form a border around each of the layers of CS.   The greeting is from Curly Cute which is sadly retiring this year, I will definitely miss this great set.  I added in a strip of So Saffron CS punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch.  The small mosaics are stamped and hand cut out then adhered with dimensionals on the sides and the

One More Mother's Day Card

Image
I have one last Mother's Day card to share with you today.  I used Secret Garden and the retired greeting set Something to Celebrate. The card base is the retired Cool Carribean embossed with the new Modern Mosaic EF.  A Labels Framelit was die cut out of Whisper White CS.  I stamped the greeting with Soft Suede onto the framelit and adhered it to the card base.  I trimmed the little bit of overage with my scissors.  The ribbon is Crumb Cake taffeta that was tied on before adhering the framelit.  I used a couple of flowers that I had left over from a previous card.  They were embossed on glossy CS and colored in with an Aqua painter and Wisteria Wonder re-inker.  The leaves were die cut from Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP using the Secret Garden framelits.  I love the combination of Cool Carribean and Wisteria Wonder.  Here's a closeup of the center of the card. I am very pleased with this card, love the off set framelit! Thanks for stopping by! See you next time!! If it doesn'

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge TSSC263

Image
I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.  It's Monday already and time for a new sketch for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  Here's this week's sketch. Here is the card I came up with using the new Mosaic Madness from the upcoming catalog. I love that this turned out so clean and crisp.  I used the new Quatrefancy Specialty DSP that matches the Mosaic Madness set for a layer over my card base of Island Indigo.  The bottom banner and ink is also Island Indigo.  Another piece of DSP for the top banner adds a little pop of extra color.  The greeting comes from Feel Goods, simply stamped on Whisper White.  Instead of a button embellishment like the sketch, I added a punched element using the new Mosaic punch.  I added in extra color to the mosaic by punching a smaller stamped image from the Mosaic set in Melon Mambo.  I was able to use the four petal flower punch from Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack to punch out that small piece.  Here's a close up of t

Happy Mother's Day!

Image
A big Happy Mother's Day everyone!!  I hope you enjoy today with your loved ones!  I have a card to share that is a re-visit of previous cards that can be seen HERE and HERE .  This card uses the Dress Up Framelits and is a simple, clean layout. I really love this layout.  It's simple and clean with some fun elements.  One of my favorite elements is the paper piercing around the dress form. The dress form was cut from Crumb Cake and stamped with the large flourish stamp from Always Elegant.  Pink Taffeta ribbon and pearls complete the dress. The bottom of the card has needlepoint embossing below the strip of DSP.  The greeting is stamped directly on the DSP using Soft Suede ink.  I just love this layout, I am sure it will be re-visited again! Have a very Happy Mother's Day!!  See you tomorrow for a new Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge! If it doesn't move...stamp it!! Nicole Tugrul Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

See it Again Saturday

Image
I've got another great See it Again Saturday card for you today.  I used Aviary this week since it's retiring soon.  I made a flip flop card like the ones I did during Sale-a-bration.  You can go HERE and HERE to see more about those cards.  Here is the Aviary card. Here's the front of the card.  I used Polka Dot Parade in Old Olive and Daffodil Delight as my main colors.  Here is the back of the flip. This was a simple design, one of the reasons I like the flip card so much.  You pick your DSP for the background, you pick a focal point for the flip part, and a greeting for the back.  Then you can add any extra embellishments you want.  This card was simple, I used a bird cage as my focal point on the flip.  I added in leaves and flowers to make the bird cage stand out.  The greeting on the back is another set I hate to see go, Curly Cute.  Simple card, yet it has WOW power due to the fancy fold.  Thanks for stopping by to see my re-make of a favorite layout.   I have ano

Flashback Friday: Roses In Winter

Image
It's Friday!! Time to flashback again with a set that was a favorite of mine when I first started stamping, Roses in Winter from 2003. I was asked to make a special Mother's Day card, and I thought of this set.  It has a beautiful softness to it, with the blending of colors as a two-step stamp set.  Here's the card I made, blending old with new. I blended a lot of new with old to make a more modern style card.  The card base is Crumb Cake embossed with the new Modern Mosaic EF.  It's hard to see here, but I lightly stamped the small flower inside some of the mosaics using Crumb Cake ink.  Here's a closer look. I stamped the roses with Strawberry Slush from the new In Color Collection.  I stamped off three times for the bottom layer, two times for the middle then directly stamped for the top.  I cut them out by hand as well as the leaves and small violet flowers.  The leaves are Pear Pizazz with Old Olive and the small flowers are Wisteria Wonder.  I layered all the
