Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is LOVE IS IN THE AIR. I went with the obvious choice and used LIFT ME UP for my card today.  It's a simple design which is my favorite lately! I thought about doing this on watercolor paper and adding a wash of blue for the sky, but instead I went with the WATERCOLOR WASH background stamp.  This is one of my favorite backgrounds ever made and it was perfect for this card. I added the sentiment in Dapper Denim, it's a nice complimentary color to Soft Sky.  The balloon was a combination of Flirty Flamingo and Watermelon Wonder.  The pink balloon stand out nicely against the blue sky and white clouds. Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring Christmas cards, anything we choose! This week's challenge actually gave me a chance to use a set that I fell in love with right away but have hardly used! I just love the idea of a cozy Christmas by the fire so Festive Fireplace was on my radar as soon as the Holiday Catalog came out. For this card, classic colors worked best.  Cherry Cobbler for the fire place and Garden Green on the mantle create a classic Christmas scene. With a focal point as bold as this fireplace, a greeting that could stand out was needed.  In comes the Expressions Natural Elements.  The wood tone was a perfect compliment to the crackling fire.  So many ways to use this set, I look forward to exploring them all!  You can check out the supply list below for more information on how this card was created. I went outside the box again with REASON FOR THE SEASON and did a wedding card to show this set isn't just for Christmas! Isn't this pretty in pinks and coral!  I was inspired by the color challenge this week at Create with Connie and Mary. A floral card was the first thought I had when seeing these colors.  So I went back to REASON FOR THE SEASON to see how the colors worked on the poinsettia. I ended up doing the outline of the flower in Watermelon Wonder and added color to the petals with Calypso Coral stamped off once.  Blushing Bride made a lovely background with the Watercolor Wash background stamp. Since we have Blushing Bride sequins, I had to add a few in plus a bit of gold thread.  I think they added the finishing touch the card needed.  As far as the greeting goes, I went with my favorite set for sentiments, COTTAGE GREETINGS in Watermelon Wonder.  I love the end result, a very pretty wedding card!  So now you have TWO card ideas from me to use REASON FOR THE SEASON ...

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!!  This month is all about techniques and today we are featuring WATERCOLOR WASH.   You should be arriving here from Mary Brown at Stampercamper's Corner , her cards are always so gorgeous! Ombre has been all the rage, I love the gorgeous look it gives to card backgrounds.  In Bermuda Bay, this effect with watercolor wash is TO DIE FOR! Add in the ever so beautiful Perfect Peacock, and you have a seriously amazing card! To create this gorgeous effect, I used watercolor paper.  It allowed me to move the color around nicely then layer more colors on.  The Aqua Painter is the PERFECT tool for this technique.  I spritzed the paper with a little water then started adding color.  Once you have the look you want, LET.
