Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring stamps that require coloring. I’ve gone back to a favorite of mine from the Occasions Catalog, BIRTHDAY BLOOMS. You may have noticed that I added in a couple more favorites, COTTAGE GREETINGS and the COTTAGE GREETINGS CARD KIT.  I am happy to say that COTTAGE GREETINGS is carrying over to the new catalog, but the card kit is not.  It's time for new kits, so I need to use up what I have left of this one! I heat embossed the bloom in white on watercolor paper then used an aqua painter to color it in.  I love the combo of Peekaboo Peach and Mossy Meadow, I so hate to see that beautiful green retire!  I fussy cut the flower and added it to the card with dimensionals.  The card itself is all built from supplies in the card kit.  I think the wood paper looks gorgeous with the Peekaboo Peach and Mossy Meadow flower. Welcome to the CREATION STATION BLOG HOP!  This month we are all about BIRTHDAYS!! This first card is watercolor with the blooms heat embossed in black.  I used a couple of bold colors, Bermuda Bay and Cucumber Crush, for a stunning contrast. Yes, I am a bit infatuated with the COLOR SMASH technique and have yet another card to share.  I can't help myself, it's such an easy technique and packs a big punch! My inspiration for this particular card came from the sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary. I liked this sketch and thought a color smash background would be perfect for it. I pulled a sentiment from Ray of Sunshine, it compliments the rainbow beautifully!  I initially intended to use Over the Rainbow, but it was nice to change it up a little and use a set that's been put away for awhile. Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop !  Bet you are wondering what's in store after seeing the unique title for today's post.  Well, how about a little COLOR RESIST technique?! Our mission this week was to use color resist in some way and since I don't have the new Color Me Irresistible DSP,  I went with heat embossed color resist. Since watercolor has been something I worked with this week, I combined it with the resist technique and I love the results! Having the heat embossed image allowed me to freely add color with my Aqua Painter and ink.  I went right over the edges and added color outside the lines for a soft and pretty look.  There are several layers of color, especially on the flower petals.  I layered Sof...

Welcome!  Today I am sharing another fall watercolor using White Christmas to make a card for the sketch this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday .   During the month of October we at Try Stampin’ On Tuesday are having some Halloween fun and we want you to have some fun too.  This week, we have a word scramble for you to participate in.  Simply unscramble these two words – plus those on the other designers’ blogs and your name will be entered in a draw. I'm back for a second card today, this one is for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Technostamper. I just got White Christmas and couldn't wait to get ink on it.  I went in a different direction from my previous card and used watercolor paper with a fall theme. I love the serene look of this card.  Fall is my favorite time of year and this card really makes me smile! I kept the background really simple so the focus is on the watercolor.  A piece of Motley Monsters Designer paper with falling leaves was a perfect fit. I love the fall leaves that were created on the trees with just a bit of ink and my aqua painter.  The watercolor paper gives the fuzzy, soft look that I wanted this card to have. The last details was the sentiment.  I chose one from Trust God, it was perfect for the card.  I stamped it on Hello Honey with Staz On Black ink and die cut it with a Banner Framelit.
