A Cupcake Birthday

Image
I am taking a break today from Sale-a-bration cards and sharing a birthday card instead.  I haven't used Create a Cupcake in awhile so I brought it out for this card.  I used retired DSP, but the new ribbon and buttons from the Sale-a-bration catalog matched so I added those in.  The card base is embossed with the Stripes Embossing Folder, this poor embossing folder has been seriously neglected ever since the new Honeycomb and Cloudy Day Embossing folders came out!  I used Poppy Parade retired card stock for the cherry on the cupcake and the greeting as it was the color of the cherry on the DSP too.  The top of the cupcake is Pool Party to match the DSP also.  I liked this layout so much I ended up making a cute get well card with Patterned Occasions from Sale-a-bration that I will be sharing tomorrow. Here are the products featured in today's card. Create a Cupcake (wm) 121915  (cm) 121892 Cupcake Builder Punch 121807 Stripes Embossing Folder 123128 Sycamore Street Ribbon and

LNS Challenge 208

Image
I wanted to participate in the LNS Challenge, this week is heat embossing.  I haven't use the new Sale-a-bration set Patterned Occasions much so I decided to go with that.  Another challenge this week is the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge (TSSC248) on Technostamper, so I used that layout with different stamps and paper. Here is a another look at my card for TSSC248 from Monday : Now here is the card I made for the LNS Challenge 208 Heat embossing combined with the layout of TSSC248. I love the idea of the clothes line and wanted to use the jeans for the heat embossing component.  I think the Marina Mist card stock looks like jeans when embossed, there is the right color and texture.  I basically copied my design from Monday.  I used DSP from the Nursery suite that retired, it just went well with the jeans and color scheme.  The sky, clouds, and grass are all like the original card, just slightly different colors.  Here's a close up of the jeans on the clothes line. I added a

Blooming With Kindness

I hope you enjoyed yesterday's sketch challenge and gave it a try.  Today I'd like to share a Blooming with Kindness card that I did over the weekend.  I used muted colors and a design similar to the Bloomin' Marvelous cards I shared last week.  I just really loved the soft look of those cards and  thought it was the perfect look for a sympathy card using Blooming with Kindness. I stamped the flower on a Whisper White CS base card several times with the same inking of Baja Breeze to give both stronger and faded flowers.  I embossed the card stock with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder to add texture.  The flower was stamped off before stamping on the circle so the greeting would stand out.  I added Crumb Cake Taffeta ribbon to the card base, I like the look of the soft blue ink and the tan tones.   The butterfly was made with Soft Suede and Crumb Cake using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.  All in all a soft card that came together quickly. Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge

Image
Welcome to Monday's Lunchtime Sketch Challenge!!  This is my first time as part of the team and I am so excited to be a part of it!! Here is the sketch for this week. And here is the card that I came up with. I used the geometric design in the Sycamore Street DSP from the Sale-a-bration catalog as my starting point.  I liked it because I wanted to use the new Pinwheel Sizzlet and the geometric design was just perfect for it!  The colors used are the In-Colors 2011-2013.  The embossing for the Pool Party and Whisper White is done with Cloudy Day from the Spring Catalog.  The Lucky Limeade is embossed with the lacy design folder in the set Delicate Designs.  The greeting and matching die cut is the Bitty Banners stamp set and framelits.  I added a little flower to the center of the pinwheel with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, just added a little extra color.  You can see all the cards for this weeks sketch on the Techno Stamper Blog and I have all the blogs for the sketch team li

More Bloomin' Marvelous!

Today I am sharing the other cards I made with Bloomin' Marvelous using the layout from yesterday.  I changed up the colors to Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette and Certainly Celery.  I also left out the framelit window die cut to make the card simpler.  I changed up the greeting by not matting it and adding a hummingbird in place of butterfly.  I also scattered more small flowers around the card in place of stamping on the background.  Here is a close up. I did another version with a different greeting and used the butterfly again.  I used the same colors as this first one.  This card has the background stamping and flowers more concentrated around the greeting.  I have a close up of this one too. I just love the softness of the colors and the pretty flowers.  So spring like! Makes me have a bit of spring fever with all of this crazy cold weather we have here in Ohio!!  I made a couple other cards using this layout with Blooming with Kindness.  They are pretty and soft too.  I will post
