Clean and Simple Card

Image
Today is the last Saturday Challenge at Create with Connie and Mary for the Summer 2013 Collection.  It is a color challenge this week, take a look. Fun and bright colors for this week!  I haven't put these colors together, so I had to think a little about what to do.  I decided to keep with the CAS cards (clean and simple) that I have been into lately.  Here's what I ended up with. I haven't done anything with butterflies lately, so that's the direction I went with this card.  Here are the details: 1.  Picked Whisper White as my card base. 2.  Cut a piece of Bermuda Bay to 2" x 3 3/4" and embossed with Mosaic Madness EF. 3.  Die cut Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight butterflies with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit. 4.  Paper pierced butterflies on the white card base. 5.  Adhered Bermuda bay piece to card.  Added butterfly and candy dot. 6.  Added a small butterfly inside to paper pierced butterfly in the upper right corner and a...

Saturday Challenge: Rev Up the Fun!

Image
I have a fun card to share today that I made for the Saturday Challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  We are at the end of week three for the Summer Collection 2013 and the projects are just amazing!  They are also having a Saturday Challenge to go along and I was able to get a card made this week.  First let's look at the sketch we have.   What a fun sketch!  I actually altered my card to be vertical as I prefer them.  Take a look. This was such a fun card to make, Rev Up the Fun set is so easy to work with.  I kept with the sketch, just centered the focal point instead of having it off center.  Here' what I did. 1.  Picked out Crumb Cake as my card base.  Also picked out my other colors, Basic Black and Polka Dot Parade DSP. 2.  Cut the DSP and decided on what to do for the scalloped part of the sketch.  Since I am doing a masculine card, I decided against scallops and tried something new.  I took my hexagon punch and...

Flashback Friday: By Sea

Image
Welcome to Flashback Friday!! Sorry I missed the last two weeks, been a bit busy around here!  But today I do have a new Flashback card to share so let's get going!  This week I am featuring a Definitely Decorative stamp set from the 2006 Summer Mini Catalog call By Sea.  This is such a cute set!  There were three sets featured together.  By Land, By Sea, and By Air.  All three are super cute and lots of fun to work with.  Here is the card I made with By Sea. How fun is this card?!  I used a lot of current products, here's the details: 1.  Used Crumb Cake as my card base.  Added a layer of Whisper White embossed with the Chevron EF. 2.  Added 3 banners with the Polka Dot Parade DSP.  Each banner is 1 1/4" x 5".   I used the Hexagon punch to make the banner at the bottom. 3.  I stamped the submarine with Smokey Slate.  The bubbles were made by stamping off once using Marina Mist.  A Pumpkin Pie fish was ...

Simply Sketched for CCMC260

Image
It’s Thursday and time for a new challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.   This week we have gorgeous colors to work with, check them out. Aren’t these colors beautiful together!   I love the soft Crisp Cantaloupe paired with the brighter Cameo Coral.   I felt that these colors needed a flower, so I picked the Simply Sketched hostess set to make my card with.   I really enjoyed making this card, it kind of just made itself!   Here are the details: 1     I picked Crisp Cantaloupe as my card base.   Embossed it with the new Beautifully Baroque EF. 2        Picked the flower from the stamp set as my focal point.   Colored the image with markers and stamped it on Whisper White.   Die cut the image with one of the framelits from Apothecary Accents Framelits. 3        I added paper piercing around the flower using the template for my die cut from the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack. 4 ...

Fun Birthday Gift Cards

Image
Today I have two fun little birthday gift cards I made with You're My Hero.  These are perfect for tucking into a gift bag for a little boy.  The size of the cards is 3x3.  I like to do these every so often, they are quick and fun since there is less space to fill.  You're My Hero is a perfect set for this.  I love the weeeooo-weeeooo stamp, it looks great at the bottom of the cards.  Here are the cards individually. This first card has the police car colored with Markers.  I stamped it on a separate piece of Whisper White and cut it out.  The new Chevron Ribbon is too cool and looks great behind the car.  I adhered it directly to the card with SNAIL and then added the car using dimensionals. On this second card, I stamped the ambulance in Daffodil Delight instead of using markers.  I like this look too.  It's much simpler if you need to make several cards.  I set the rest of it up the same as the first with the ribbon and addi...

Rev Up the Fun for the Create Saturday Challenge

Image
Today I have a challenge card to share instead of my usual See it Again Saturday card.  I am a Guest Designer for the Create with Connie and Mary Summer Collection 2013 which is very exciting!  During this month as the Summer Collection is going on, there is a Create Saturday Challenge each week.  This week is a fun sketch challenge. Isn't this a great layout!  I am using Rev Up the Fun for my project for the Summer Collection 2013, so I went ahead and used it for this first Saturday Challenge as well. I must say that this set is sooo much fun to work with!  When I saw the sketch for this week's challenge, I saw this card right away.  So, let's get on with the details.  My colors this time are Real Red, Crumb Cake, Basic Black Whisper White and Basic Gray.  The Crumb Cake card base is embossed with the Chevron EF which goes perfect with this stamp set.  The Real Red layer goes on next, it makes the car stamped on Whisper White really stand o...

See it Again Saturday

Image
The weekend is here!  We are having hot and humid weather here in Ohio, all the more reason to stamp!  Today I have a card that is a re-do of a layout from last week.  I really loved the design that I came up with for my Thursday Create with Connie and Mary color challenge using Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit, and Early Espresso.  You can click HERE to go back to my post for the original card.  I used different colors and changed the design slightly, check out the new version. Don't you just love the Smokey Slate paired with Coastal Cabana??  I do!  This is a wedding card, it is June after all.  I didn't want it to be too girly, so these colors really fit the bill.  As far as re-designing goes, I changed a couple things slightly.  Besides the colors, I made the Window Framelit die cut the next size up.  To get the mosaic pattern, I first stamped my pattern on a square piece of CS then die cut with the framelit.  This not only...

Flashback Friday: By Land

Image
Welcome to another Flashback Friday!  This week we travel to 2006 for the cute Definitely Decorative set called By Land.  I figured I'd use this set since I've been doing a lot of car cards this week.  Here is the stamp set, there was a matching tire track wheel as well. I have been really into Smokey Slate, so I used it again.  But this time I paired it with Pumpkin Pie.  I love how the two colors look together, a very good combo for a little boy birthday card. I combined the old with the new and I love how it updated this stamp set.  The card base is pumpkin pie.  One of the reasons I chose it was because I already had an extra card base ready to go!  I embossed a piece of Basic Gray with the Chevron EF for the bottom of the card.  For the car, I stamped it and cut out the pieces.  I wanted the image to look really crisp, so stamping with the ink pad verses coloring with markers just provided a better image.  I fussy cut the car a...

Here is my rev'd up birthday pop up card. I think this stamp set if so much fun!  For this card I used the race car.  I picked bold colors, Real Red, Pacific Point, Basic Black, Smokey Slate, Basic Gray, and Whisper White.  The front of the card is two die cut circles using the new framelits, one with the focal point and one to a...
