I used to make shaker cards ALL.THE.TIME.  It's been FOREVER since I've made one, so today was the day!  I was inspired by challenge GDP174 from the Global Design Project for this week. This image immediately brought a shaker to mind, Ionly had to figure out what stamp set to use.  Since I just made a card with Butterfly Gala Bundle , I had supplies out on my desk for that bundle so I went with it! I have been dying to give the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits a try, so that became the base of my design.  I chose to do a flat shaker to keep it easier.  The card is simply a Granny Apple Green card base with a layer of the same color card stock and a designer paper as the top layer.  I would have used designer paper by itself, but with a shaker you want a sturdier cover.  The paper comes from the gorgeous FREE Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper from the Sale-a-bration Catalog . Ready for another sneak peek??  Today I have a card for you featuring A NICE CUPPA and the coordinating designer paper HAVE A CUPPA. What a fun stamp set!  It also has a set of matching thinlits that you can purchase with the stamps in a bundle and save 15%, love it!! I added a little tea bag to the cup with a little baker's twine and a dimensional, a sweet little extra touch! I've gone clean and simple today with a card featuring the HOLLY JOLLY GREETINGS BUNDLE. Sometimes simple is just the way to go! For inspiration, I used the color challenge from Create with Connie and Mary . They have a two week color challenge that I just couldn't resist!  I am really into using unusual colors for Christmas and Basic Black is one of my favorites to use. Even though the card is simple it still has sparkle and shine!  I heat embossed the snowflake for some shine.  Then I added in a gold glimmer paper die cut for some sparkle.  I also added in a few random gold sequins because as you know I believe sequins make everything look better!  And that's it!  An easy peasy but still happy and sparkly Christmas card! I've gone with a bit of a different color scheme for today's Christmas card.....it's all in black and white. It all started with the WINTER WONDERLAND VELLUM STACK .  Some of the designs are black so I thought why not do an entire card with black and white.  COZY CHRISTMAS has a lovely little scene that works perfectly with the vellum that has the pine trees. I added a layer of the BLACK GLIMMER PAPER from Halloween, it fit well with the sketch challenge I used for inspiration. It's the sketch from Try Stampin' -or not- on Tuesday .   Now you can see how the black glimmer paper fit in so well! I added in a couple of the larger silver sequins from the Cottage Greetings card kit and a white embossed sentiment to finish off the card.  And as always the envelope is stamped to coordinate. Christmas cards can be extra easy when you have gorgeous designer paper to give you a hand.  Today's Santa card has minimal stamping but lots of sparkle. Isn't this colorful and fun!  I just love the Home for Christmas designer paper.  Cutting out pieces of the designs to use in place of stamps adds a whole new dimension to card making. Santa and the tree along with a plethora of gifts were all fussy cut to embellish the top of the card.  But what really makes this card sparkle is the gorgeous red glimmer paper bow.  It makes the card look like one of Santa's gifts!  Let me show you where the inspiration came from.... I have a really fun shaker for you today!  I made a cozy little snow globe with Cozy Christmas. Bet you didn't expect these colors for a Christmas shaker card!  I know it's a little unusual, but I think it works.  Guess where I got this color combo?? Yep, it's from Create with Connie and Mary! I love being able to use black glimmer paper for something other than Halloween, so that's how this card got started!  I pulled out my glimmer paper and the Winter Wonderland Vellum.  The black stripes look amazing with the black glimmer. I kept the center of the card neutral with Smokey Slate which makes the bold red glimmer sentiment really pop. I couldn't resist adding in a few silver sequins, I figured the card could handle just a little more bling!  Lots of glimmer today for this fun shaker with non-traditional colors.  I didn't have Cozy Christmas on my radar at first, but I am so glad I bought it!  That's it for me today, see you Saturday for the Create with Con...

There are two beautiful sets of vellum in the catalog, one of which is WINTER WONDERLAND.  It has black, gold and silver tones and is perfect for Christmas and winter cards.  But, I wanted to make a fall card with this lovely vellum and it worked beautifully! Isn't this really rich looking!  Gold is a perfect match with the Soft Suede card base. Did you notice that there's no stamping!!  This card is all about the Big Shot so it came together easily. The inspiration for this card came from the sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary. I love the simplicity of the design, so many options for your cards!! Once my card base was embossed, all I had to do was add a couple layers of vellum plus gold glimmer paper. With all the gold,  I needed a bolder greeting that would stand out.  "Grateful" die cut in Early Espresso did the job quite well.  It was bold enough to stand out, but it still was cohesive. I have fallen in love with WONDERLAND in the Holiday Catalog.  You can do so many GORGEOUS cards with this stamp set! See what I mean!  And even better is the fact that this card was pretty simple to make!  It actually has a couple of techniques that come together for the WOW factor. It all started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock if you can believe that!  I brayered on Blackberry Bliss ink with it being darker at the bottom and lighter at the top.  Once I was happy with how the ink looked, I stamped the trees with Black Archival ink. I added in some of the beautiful WINTER WONDERLAND DESIGNER VELLUM and a couple of banners.  The Silver Foil banner has "Silent Night" embossed in silver for a lovely effect.  Before I forget, let me show you where the inspiration for this card came from. Last week I shared a card with a gold glimmer leaf that I just loved.  So, I had to do another card with the beautiful glimmer leaves. Isn't this gorgeous!  The design is simple so the leaves can take center stage.  I did one in gold glimmer paper and the second in the retired champagne glimmer paper.  Before I show you a close up of the leaves, I want to show you the sketch I used for today.  It's the challenge from Try Stampin' -or not- on Tuesday . I turned my card from landscape to portrait and I was a little liberal with the designs in the center.  I used the two leaves and a sentiment.  In fact, this card is all about the Big Shot, I didn't do any stamping! Each leaf is popped up with dimensionals on the woodgrain embossed cardstock (Sahara Sand).  The sentiment die cut from Seasonal Frames Thinlits is done in Early Espresso to stand out from all the glimmer.
