Sparkly Season Flip Card

Image
I love this particular die cut set, but I don't use it nearly enough! It's the flip card die!  This is such a fun way to give a wow factor without having to spend too much time.  The flip card die cut does all the work for you, embellishing is all you need to worry about. I think that the Sparkly Seasons snow globe concept is a perfect fit here, don't you??  I was able to fit the snowman perfectly on the front of the flip and the sentiment inside. A few little details give the card more life.  A bit of Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper for the sentiment give a little sparkle and embossing gives more dimension. This is just one great way to use Sparkly Seasons......this set is full of fun!  I have another great sample with this set that you can check out HERE if you missed it. Also, don't forget about the November Mini Session from Create with Connie and Mary .  We have some FABULOUS holiday ideas for you this month that you won't want to miss!  For more details, visi...

May Your Season Sparkle

Image
Christmas cards can be extra easy when you have gorgeous designer paper to give you a hand.  Today's Santa card has minimal stamping but lots of sparkle. Isn't this colorful and fun!  I just love the Home for Christmas designer paper.  Cutting out pieces of the designs to use in place of stamps adds a whole new dimension to card making. Santa and the tree along with a plethora of gifts were all fussy cut to embellish the top of the card.  But what really makes this card sparkle is the gorgeous red glimmer paper bow.  It makes the card look like one of Santa's gifts!  Let me show you where the inspiration came from.... There's a great sketch this week at Try Stampin' -or not- on Tuesday .  The bow is where I started building my card.  Red glimmer paper and Santa are a great match! This card was so much fun to create, I highly recommend cutting up your designer paper for beautiful cards!  To learn more about this week's challenge stop by Try Stampin' for all ...

Snowman in Red and White

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are starting to feature Christmas cards with today being all about RED AND WHITE. I went with a cute little snowman in a red and white striped scarf and hat. It's a clean and simple card that makes me smile just like the sweet snowman! I colored the hat and scarf with my Real Red marker and added a Pumpkin Pie nose.  For a bit of sparkle, I added Dazzling Details to the trim out the hat. In keeping with the red and white theme, the card base is Real Red and so is the base of the snow globe.  I stamped the outline of the globe in Sahara Sand so the snowman would be the main focus. The white layer is embossed with the fun Gently Falling EF to give dimension to the card.  I originally thought that I wouldn't buy this particular embossing folder, but I caved after seeing all the pretty cards that feature it! FaBOOlous Sparkly Season

Image
There's a great stamp set that you may not have noticed, the hostess set called SIX SAYINGS on the last page of the Holiday Catalog.  It has six greetings that give you year round variety, so it's quite handy!  I am sharing a card today that uses a very fun sentiment for Halloween. Isn't this just too FaBOOlous!  This particular greeting is what sold me on this set, it's just so fun! I went pretty clean and simple by adding a bit of washi and a pumpkin.  My inspiration for this design came from this week's sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary . The first thing I thought of when looking at the sketch was washi, so that was the basis of my card.  I went with Halloween and used the HAPPY HAUNTING designer washi. The pumpkin was created with a leftover Tangelo Twist circle die cut on my desk.  I added in the chevron design, face and stem from SPARKLY SEASONS which made the jack-o-lantern come to life.  This was such a fun card and it was quick too which I l...

Sparkly Fall Season

Image
I finally got a chance to sit down with SPARKLY SEASONS and try out an idea I've been thinking of. I love the globe in this set, but I'm not quite ready to jump into Christmas cards yet. So I went with a fall look by adding in a stamp from HAPPY SCENES .  This would be a wonderful shaker too, may have to do that for next week! For today's card I envisioned the scene on the inside showing through the globe.  I simply die cut the front of the card with the circle framelit from the SEASONAL FRAMES THINLITS that coordinate with SPARKLY SEASONS.  It's one of the awesome bundles offered which is a great way to get products at a discount! The scene is stamped with Soft Suede and colored with markers.  I added in a little sponging as well to give a bit of green grass and blue sky.  I added a small square of window sheet over the opening to give it more of a globe look.  To make the inside of the card look nice and neat, I added washi tape along the edges so no adhesive showed...

Spooky Treat Bag

Image
After sharing lots of MINI TREAT BAGS yesterday, I had to sit down and make more! This is super cute and was soooooo easy to make!  I used SPARKLY SEASONS and the coordinating SEASONAL FRAME THINLITS . I love having framelits for my stamps and when they are bundled at a 15% savings you can't go wrong!! The frame thinlit in the bundle is perfect for the front of the bag that I made from HAPPY HAUNTING Designer Series Paper.  I cut mine in Tangelo Twist and stamped a jack-o-lantern.  His cute little stem is die cut and partially paper pieced to give a green leaf and brown stem.  But my favorite part is the sentiment.  I die cut "spooky" in BLACK GLIMMER PAPER and stamped "greetings" below.  All in all, this bag only took about 15 minutes to make! Do you need more ideas for the Holidays??  Well, I have just what you need, the Mini Sessions from Create with Connie and Mary !  I am so proud to be on the Design Team and we have put together fabulous tutorials to ...

A Spooky Season

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!   This week we are all about HALLOWEEN CARDS! SPARKLY SEASON was a set on my radar right away since it features more than one holiday.  I love sets like this that are multi-purpose!  It also comes as a bundle with the coordinating SEASONAL FRAME THINLITS which makes this a must have in my book! Is this jack-o-lantern cute or what!  I used the chevron circle and face from the stamp set and added in the "spooky" from the thinlits.  I LOVE having words to die cut....so fun to use! There are lots of little details that come together to make this card work.  Softly sponged stars with a decorative mask was my first step.  Then I layered on Happy Haunting washi tape before adding the jack-o-lantern and sentiment.  I even dressed up the hat that I pulled from Howl-o-ween Treat.  I love how it's a perfect fit! Here's a quick run down of all the supplies I used so you can make your own spooky card! Stamps :  Spar...
