Perfect Mix for CCMC 455

Image
Get ready to be inspired!!  This week we have a great sketch challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary!! Love this week's sketch!!  It took me a bit to pick which set to go with, but eventually decided on PERFECT MIX. This set is just too much fun!  Lots of ways to layer the different kitchen items!!  I embossed several of each stamp and played around with the design. In the end, I liked the way Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral worked together with the neutral tones.  And the best part, I have a bunch of extras for later....BONUS! There's lots of inspiration still to be had, so go and check out CREATE WITH CONNIE AND MARY !! I hope you'll get your stamps and and get creative with us!! Live Love Grow

Image
Clean and simple cards are such a joy to create!  A nice white card with a crisp design makes me so happy!  The sweet set LIVE,LOVE,GROW is so perfect for this style of card making.   See what I mean, a bright crisp card is good stuff!  I found my inspiration from sketch challenge FMS249 at Freshly Made Sketches.  This was such a fun sketch to work with, you can really use your imagination with this one!     It all started with SERENE SCENERY Designer Paper Stack.  I used the design that looks like wood flooring as my background strip.  The sentiment embossed in white on black really pops against this lighter color of DSP.  The embossed words were created with the awesome new set LABELER ALPHABET .  I love that there are two styles of alphabet to work with.  I was able to lay out the letters and stamp it all at once, super easy! That's it for me today!  Give this crisp clean look a try, I know you'll love it! CLICK HERE to SHOP anytime and earn FREE STAMPS SHOP the ...

Snowy Wonderland

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring Christmas cards using BLUE,WHITE and SILVER. I'm back with another shaker, I thought today's hop would be perfect for this snowy scene. Isn't this wonderful!  I bought a bag full of little snow beads last year and have a ton left to use, so here we go!  The perfect stamp set for this type of card, WONDERLAND. Here's a close up of the shaker.  I stamped the trees in Night of Navy then added silver stars and the snow beads.  To dress up the shaker, I gave it a silver glimmer frame. For a bit more silver and to continue with the snow theme, I added Winter Wonderland Vellum over Whisper White.  This softness allows the bold silver embossed sentiment to really stand out.  I am so pleased with the silver snowscape, what do you think? Last MPP Cards

Image
I have the last two cards to share made with the October My Paper Pumpkin kit.  I've had SO MUCH FUN with this kit and can't wait to see what November's looks like!  The first card is a thank you card that features the EXPRESSIONS NATURAL ELEMENTS. I love these natural element embellishments, they add great dimension to cards and projects.  I used mostly the kit for this card, keeping the stamping in the background on the neutral side. The second card is yet another anniversary card, less floral and more woodsy. I am really loving Mossy Meadow right now, it worked beautifully with the dijon banner.  I used a retired sentiment again, but I love how it fit neatly in the banner and the script is pretty! So that's it for the October kit from me this month.  I am SUPER looking forward to November's kit to see what we get!  To see the past cards made with the October kit, just click on the links below. Golden Grateful

Image
There are two beautiful sets of vellum in the catalog, one of which is WINTER WONDERLAND.  It has black, gold and silver tones and is perfect for Christmas and winter cards.  But, I wanted to make a fall card with this lovely vellum and it worked beautifully! Isn't this really rich looking!  Gold is a perfect match with the Soft Suede card base. Did you notice that there's no stamping!!  This card is all about the Big Shot so it came together easily. The inspiration for this card came from the sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary. I love the simplicity of the design, so many options for your cards!! Once my card base was embossed, all I had to do was add a couple layers of vellum plus gold glimmer paper. With all the gold,  I needed a bolder greeting that would stand out.  "Grateful" die cut in Early Espresso did the job quite well.  It was bold enough to stand out, but it still was cohesive. This would be a lovely card in Christmas colors, you could make a...

More Paper Pumpkin Cards

Image
I'm back today with a couple more ideas for the October My Paper Pumpkin kit .  As with the other cards, I have used bits and pieces of the kit combined with other products. This is one design with slight differences. This is the first one I did.  I kept the card base simple, just embossed large polka dots on Sahara Sand.  The floral paper from the kit really stands out against this soft color. The sentiment is retired (Good Greetings), but I used it since it worked perfectly for my idea.  I love the banners from the kit and thought these two greetings with a heart in between would be sweet for an anniversary card.  In fact, it's the card I'm giving my husband for our 14 year anniversary on Sunday. For the second card, I used different colors but the same design.  The Pool Party card base looks so pretty with the Sahara Sand.  I used the same sentiments but changed up the color of the banner.  I think both are beautiful, which is your favorite??  Curious about the supplies ...

Thinking of You

Image
Have you dived into your October My Paper Pumpkin yet??  I have!  I've gotten creative with the kit and have come up with quite a few cards to share. Isn't this super pretty!  I absolutely LOVE the colors of this card!  I used several components of the kit and then added in several outside elements. It all started with the square piece in the kit that has leaves on it.  I took it to the Big Shot and die cut a circle from the center which I saved and used on another card.  I cut the 3 x 3 card base from the kit in half to use underneath.  Adding in the sentiment and flowers brought the whole thing to life! I added in one more element from the MPP kit, the polka dot matting under the floral element is one half of the mid sized card base.  I just added in embossing to give some dimension then put it all on a Pool Party card base. I was so inspired by the pretty colors that I stamped up the inside too!  I bet you want to know the colors I used......Watermelon Wonder, Pool Party and...

Glimmer Leaves

Image
Last week I shared a card with a gold glimmer leaf that I just loved.  So, I had to do another card with the beautiful glimmer leaves. Isn't this gorgeous!  The design is simple so the leaves can take center stage.  I did one in gold glimmer paper and the second in the retired champagne glimmer paper.  Before I show you a close up of the leaves, I want to show you the sketch I used for today.  It's the challenge from Try Stampin' -or not- on Tuesday . I turned my card from landscape to portrait and I was a little liberal with the designs in the center.  I used the two leaves and a sentiment.  In fact, this card is all about the Big Shot, I didn't do any stamping! Each leaf is popped up with dimensionals on the woodgrain embossed cardstock (Sahara Sand).  The sentiment die cut from Seasonal Frames Thinlits is done in Early Espresso to stand out from all the glimmer. Lastly, I added in a couple of sequins to complete the design.  This card was quick and easy, but still h...

Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop: An Experiment with Watercolor

Image
Welcome to another Saturday Blog Hop!  This week the team is featuring one of the stamp sets they will be using for Card "Create"tions Celebrations 2015. You should be arriving from Melissa's fabulous blog Rubberfunatics , she has such amazing ideas to share!  If you are just starting here, be sure to hop all the way around so you don't miss a thing!  Now onto my cards for today!  Yes...I said cards, there are FOUR to share! As you may know if you were here yesterday, I am doing a card set for Card "Create"tions with From the Garden.  I've been playing around with it a bit and today I am sharing what I call my Watercolor Experiment. Watercolor is something I don't typically do, it's definitely out of my comfort zone.  But, every once in a while I feel the need to pull out my watercolor paper and give it a try.  With there being so many small stamps in From the Garden, I wanted to find a way to be different and make them stand out.   I tried c...
