Painted Thank You

Image
Painted Petals is such a beautiful stamp set, I thought I share a pretty card with it today.  There's a great sketch challenge at Try Stampin' -or not- on Tuesday that was perfect for what I had in mind. As soon as I saw this sketch, I thought about small flowers in place of the stars. I just love the colors on this card!!  Crisp Cantaloupe is leaving us soon so I had to use it combined with Calypso Coral and Wild Wasabi.  Crumb Cake wood paneling makes a perfect background for this gorgeous trio of colors. The flowers on the panel are made lighter by stamping off once, makes the Calypso Coral sentiment and flowers stand out all the more. If you are in need of a soft and pretty thank you card, I hope you are inspired to use Painted Petals!  While you're at it, why not join the challenge with us??  Just go to Try Stampin' for all the details and more great samples from the Design Team. Thanks for hanging out with me today!  See you next time! SHOP anytim...

Grateful for You

Image
It's Thursday so I have a card to share with you for the Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge. I have been into fall cards lately, so I went with a monochromatic card using the Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper for inspiration. I haven't used Blackberry Bliss much, so I went with it for my patterned paper.  The card came together easily from there.  I used the designer paper along the bottom, I really like the angled look from the sketch.  Next, I stamped two strips of Blackberry Bliss with the Hardwood background stamp. The sentiment from Merry Everything was stamped with Blackberry Bliss on Whisper White and die cut with a circle framelit.  I added it just above the designer paper then placed the strips of woodgrain along the left side.  Lastly, a leaf was placed below the circle with a dimensional.  To keep the leaf from being too dark, I stamped off once. I hope you are feeling inspired to stamp!  All the details about the challenge ca...

Scallop Tag Card

Image
The Scallop Tag Punch is quickly becoming a favorite of mine, there are so many cool ways to use it!  The tag closure card is just one of the wonderful ways and today I have another one to share with you. You may also be noticing that I have fallen in love with the Hardwood background stamp and So Very Grateful.  They have both been sitting on my desk and I can't seem to turn away from them!  I shared a card earlier that had a tag closure, you can find it HERE .  This one is slightly different.  I made the right side about a half inch of card stock folded over with the tag to give a little twist on the style. This little variation allows you to see inside the card a little more than the other. I made the interior subtle, the flowers are stamped tone on tone with a bolder greeting over top.  Done this way, the recipient can see the inside a little without it overpowering the outside. Per my usual, the flowers are colored with blender pen and ink pads for a s...

A Floral Anniversary

Image
Monday's here and so is this week's sketch challenge from Technostamper.  Here's a look at the sketch Mary Jo has for us. I have been using So Very Grateful and Hardwood quite a bit lately, I just love the combo of the two. I initially thought about using Petal Parade for today's card, but the floral stamp from So Very Grateful was perfect for this sketch. The card base is Crumb Cake with a second layer of Crumb Cake with Hardwood stamped in Soft Suede. The flowers were stamped with StazOn Black Ink and colored with a blender pen and ink pads.  I added in a couple small pearls as a finishing touch.   The last two elements are very simple.  First is a piece of Marina Mist embossed with the Woodgrain EF.  Over that is Pear Pizzaz card stock with the sentiment from Express Yourself stamped with Old Olive.  And that's it!  A few elements produced a really beautiful floral card. Now it's your turn!  Pull out your stamps and join us!  You can find ...

Petal Parade and Hardwood

Image
It's Monday and time for a new Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Technostamper.  Mary Jo did a really fun banner sketch for us today, take a look. I have really been into the new Hardwood background stamp, so it was the source of my inspiration.  Here's where that inspiration took me. Doesn't Petal Parade look amazing with the Hardwood background?  I almost used the flowers from So Very Grateful, but felt the bold Petal Parade flowers would work better.  Since the card base is Crumb Cake I wanted bold colors for the flowers to really make the focal point "pop". The first element I added to the card was a panel of Hardwood stamped on Crumb Cake with Soft Suede.  This panel was actually an extra piece left from another card, it's nice to use up those left over bits and pieces! The banner was done collage style.  I took a piece of 4 1/4"  x 5 1/2"  Whisper Whitecard stock and randomly stamped the flowers with Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and ...
