Blackberry Bliss

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This month we are featuring the In Colors that will be retiring soon.  Today’s color is BLACKBERRY BLISS! For a little inspiration, I pulled out the BOHEMIAN DSP and picked out a Blackberry Bliss pattern. Isn't this too fun!  I love the way Blackberry Bliss and Bermuda Bay compliment each other!  As you can see, I ended up with two patterns from the Bohemian DSP.  The one I used for the background reminded me of sprinkles which is just perfect for a birthday card! To make the words from the PARTY POP-UP THINLITS really stand out, I added Bermuda Bay behind the die cut.  Even though the Hip Hip Hooray die cut covers most of the card, it still needed something.  So I grabbed the retiring set CUPCAKE PARTY . I used the coordinating BUILD A CUPCAKE punch to add a cupcake to the front of the card.  But I didn't stop there, there is a cupcake on the envelope and inside the card too! Did you notice that the sentime...

Birthday Cupcake for CCMC315

It's been a crazy week and I'm glad to be back to sharing today!  My little ones have been sick but are on the mend.  Today's card is for the Sketch Challenge this week at Create with Connie and Mary .  Here is a look at the sketch. Isn't this a fun one!  I needed to make my Mom a card for her 65th birthday and this sketch was just perfect! I went back to my favorite set for birthdays, Cupcake Party.  I started out with a Coastal Cabana card base and added a layer of Whisper White.  The scallop stamp from Boutique Borders worked beautifully with the sketch, so I stamped it with Coastal Cabana on the Whisper White. Next, the focal point was created using the Cupcake Builder Punch and Cupcake Party.  The banner was done first from Strawberry Slush cardstock.  I made the banner end with my Hexagon Punch and then stamped "party, party, party".  To make the cupcake stand out more, I die cut a starburst from Coastal Cabana and added it to the banne...

My subscriber exclusive card set for week 3 was Cupcake Party....such a fun set!  So, I did another cupcake card for today's challenge.  Isn't this so fun for a birthday?!  If you haven't gotten this set, you really should....I can't seem to get enough of it!  The cupcakes are so cute with the new Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper.  For this card, I used 2 different patterns from the DSP.  I combined stripes with polka dots. I wanted lots of bright colors for the focal point, so I used Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise to bring the cupcake to life....

More Cupcakes!

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.  This week we have a fun sketch, take a look. I made yet another cupcake card, I just can't put this set down!!  The Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper is just perfect for birthday cards and cupcakes!  I combined two of the designs in my very bright card.  The card base has a layer of Tempting Turquoise scallops and the starburst is a fun yellow striped design. To bring in even more color, I added Melon Mambo....it goes beautifully with Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise.  I made the sentiment on the side bold with all Melon Mambo and the one under the cupcake more subtle with all Daffodil Delight.  The cupcake itself is a fun combination of polka dots and swirls.  The last little touch is an In Color Sequin star with a rhinestone in the center.  For a little extra pizzaz, the rhinestone is colored Daffodil Delight with the darkest Blendabilities marker. Now it's your...

Party! Party! Party!

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend!!  Today I have a fun birthday card to share for the Creative Challenge Club.  First, let me show your the sketch for this week. Isn't this fun!  I sat for a minute and thought about what to make and Cupcake Party was the first thought that came to mind.  So, here's what I put together together. Now you know why this post is called Party! Party! Party!  I thought it would be fun to use that sentiment in each accent color. The card base is Rich Razzleberry embossed with the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder.  Next, I added in the polka dot paper from Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper.  I pulled the accent colors from this paper. I cut squares in three colors that are in the designer paper, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Tempting Turquoise.  Then I stamped the sentiment for each on Whisper White, punched the out with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch and added an In Color Sequin for e...
