Spring Collection 2015 Week 2 Blog Hop!

Image
It's hard to believe, but we are at the end of the second week of the Spring Collection 2015 from Create with Connie and Mary .  As with each week, we do a blog hop on Saturday to showcase the set we used for our project.  If you started at the beginning, you should be arriving from Melissa's blog .  I loved her project for this week!  She is just too clever! My project for this week featured From the Garden and Handpicked Framelits on page 20 of the Occasions Catalog.  This set can easily be over looked, but I saw potential as I love to garden!  I had so much fun making my Create project and love the way it turned out!  I had just as much fun creating cards to share with you today.  In fact, I made THREE cards, each one is just a little different.  All of the cards are on a Whisper White card base with flowers from Painted Petals stamped in Marina Mist. For the first card, I added a tag with the sentiment on a banner.  Under the tag is a couple of banners, So Saffron and Types

Chapstick From the Garden

Today I have a fun little gift idea to share with you.  It's one I've done many different ways, but I still love it. It's a sweet little chapstick holder.  I love small gifts to say thank you and this one fits the bill, who doesn't love chapstick?!  With spring coming closer (not fast enough!) I thought a floral holder would be a nice idea.  I've been using From the Garden all week, it's the set featured in my exclusive tutorial for the Spring Collection 2015 from Create with Connie and Mary .  It's a really fun set that can be more versatile than you think.  I love using the garden picks for my sentiments, you'll get to see more examples tomorrow. I kept the inside simple and used a die cut from the mini Treat Bag Thinlet.  As you can see, a tube of chapstick fits just right in the holder. The holder is easy to make, I have a tutorial that I made a few years ago HERE for you to follow. Thanks for visiting with me today.  If you've not become a subsc

Guy Greetings for CCMC340

It's Thursday and time for a challenge from Create with Connie and Mary .  This week is a color challenge using Basic Gray, Lost Lagoon, and Sahara Sand. These colors are perfect for a masculine card, so I pulled out the new set Guy Greetings and made a birthday card for my Father-in-Law. This was such a fun card to create, I used one of the stamps from Best Year Ever to make a really fun sentiment. I stamped the "Best.Day.Ever." sentiment on Very Vanilla then die cut it with a Banner Framelit.  Next, I stamped "Father" from Guy Greetings with Basic Gray on Lost Lagoon and die cut it with a banner from the Circle Flip Card Thinlet set.  It fit perfect over "Day." and made a new sentiment! The card came together quickly once the sentiment was taken care of.  I used a Sahara Sand card base with a layer of Basic Gray then a layer of designer paper from the Adventure Bound paper stack.  I stamped "Hats off to you" along the bottom of the designer

Mini Treat Bag

I have to say that I really LOVE the new Mini Treat Bag Thinlet in the Occasions Catalog.  It was one of the first items on my wish list and I am soooo glad I got it!  There are endless ways to use this bag and today I am going to share one. This treat was inspired by a bag of Berry flavored Skittles that was sitting on my counter.  I looked at it and thought of Rich Razzleberry.  So down I went to my craft room and whipped up a cute little treat bag with Rich Razzleberry designer paper. I embellished the front of the bag with some of the extra thinlets in the set.  I think the borders are great, especially since they can be used two ways.  I added the actual heart border to the bottom of the bag then scattered the hearts around the top. I love the look of the Pink Pirouette and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper with the richness of Rich Razzleberry. I think the next thing with this thinlet that I will tackle is the cute box that Connie Babbert came up with.  She has a tutorial HERE if

Celebrate Baby!

It's Monday and time for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Techno Stamper.   I love Mary Jo's sketch for this week, it has so many possibilities! I made a card with the fun new set Celebrate Today.  I really love this set, you have sooooo many design options!! For today, I went with a baby card. How sweet is this?!!  I pulled my color inspiration from the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper in the Sale-a-bration Catalog.  Not only is the paper gorgeous, but it's FREE too!  I started out with a Pool Party card base and a layer of designer paper. Another layer of Pool Party became the basis of the focal point.  I sponged stars with the star decorative mask to give a soft pattern behind the balloon.  The So Saffron balloon was die cut with the matching framelit (gotta love that!) and stamped with mini stars.  As I've said before, photopolymer is my new favorite style of stamp because you can SEE where you STAMP!!  It made stamping the stars on this balloon a piec

Spring Collection Week One Blog Hop!

Image
Wow!! Hard to believe week one of the Spring Collection 2015 from Create with Connie and Mary is coming to an end.  I have really enjoyed all of the Sale-a-bration projects that were featured.  We have a fun blog hop today to share cards made with products we used all week. You should be arriving from Melissa's fabulous blog, I just love all of her cards!!  My card features Best Year Ever, one of the sets that I used for my project. I love how cute this card turned out!  It's not hard to come up with ideas when there are so many fabulous Sale-a-bration products to work with.  The Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper has a beautiful group of colors that are truly inspiring! The card base is Coastal Cabana with a fun tulip style paper design.  The sentiment is two layers, the bottom was cut with a circle framelit and the sentiment is cut with a starburst framelit. The inside also has designer paper, I love this bohek inspired design.  I stamped a sentiment on the right side an

Big Day!

Today IS a big day, my first project for the Create with Connie and Mary Spring Collection 2015 went live this morning! I am so excited to be on the Design Team again, I really love creating projects for the collections.  Since my first project is all about Sale-a-bratin products, I used one of the sets I featured on this card set. This FREE set is soooooo much fun!!!  You can do all sorts of cards, including these quick little 3" x 3" ones.  I kept all of them simple, doing two of each style.  One set is in Bermuda Bay and the other in Calypso Coral. I love the simplicity of these cards, they are easy to make in lots of colors. The first card is a simple monochromatic with the celebrate sentiment.  The second has a birthday greeting and cake colored with blendabilities.  The best part is how quick they come together.  Now I have some great little cards ready to go! Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed today's card set!  Don't forget to go to Create with Con
