Watercolor Wings

Image
I have a confession to make......I am SERIOUSLY OBSESSED with WATERCOLOR WINGS!!  Any of you that have this stamp set know exactly what I'm talking about!  There are so many ways to make these gorgeous butterflies, I could sit at my desk and stamp all day! I used the small butterfly for the first time on my card for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  Before I get to all the details, let's look at the sketch. I have to admit, this sketch was definitely a challenge for me.....I had to sit and think awhile!  Once I pulled out Watercolor Wings, things got rolling. I went with my two new favorite In Colors, Watermelon Wonder and Tip Top Taupe for my main colors. I made the butterfly similar to the one I shared for the Single Stair Step Card Tutorial .  I started with a stamped off Sahara Sand base, added Blushing Bride then Watermelon Wonder.  The sentiment comes from a different set, Endless Thanks.  I liked the banner, it pairs nicely with the butterfly. Did you notice the bi...

Tree of Friendship

Image
I have lots of awesome new stamps from the annual catalog, but I keep coming back to one of the first ones I got ..... Sprinkles of Life. I went with this set yet again because it was perfect for the sketch I'm using today.  Check out Mary Jo's sketch for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge. The sketch may have a flower, but I saw a tree with clouds behind it.  Bright colors paired with soft brought my idea to life. Cucumber Crush made a great card base with texture from the Woodgrain embossing folder.  Pool Party clouds added softness and balanced the card out nicely. I love having a coordinating punch to make assembly easy!  The tree is stamped then punched, even the sweet little flowers. Speaking of flowers, how about a row along the inside??  Makes for a happy card in my book!  I stamped the sentiment in Pool Party then wished I had used Cucumber Crush for a bolder look.  But it's still a happy card so I'm happy! Now it's up to you!  How abo...

I'm Here for You

Image
Oh my goodness...tomorrow is the magical day!  The NEW catalog goes live and you can still order from the current and Occasions catalogs too!!!  It will truly be an exciting day!!  Let's take another peak at a NEW set that you will be able to order called Friendly Wishes. I so love the bold sentiments in this set!!!  Perfect for the chalkboard look which I think looks amazing with the NEW colors WATERMELON WONDER and CUCUMBER CRUSH. I got my inspiration for today's card from Mary Jo's awesome Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge. The Cherry on Top Designer Paper Stack has so many beautiful patterns, but when I saw the cherries I knew it was the one! The card is pretty simple.  The sentiment is White Craft ink on chalkboard paper that I die cut with a circle framelit.  I layered it over the designer paper and added small flowers and leaves with the Bird Builder Punch and flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. I love how adding just one small detail can ...

Sprinkles of Life Birthday

Image
How about another card using my favorite new set from the upcoming annual catalog??  I hope you don't get tired of seeing Sprinkles of Life cards because I can't get enough of this super cute stamp set! When in need of a quick and easy card, this is the way to go!  You can thank Mary Jo over at Techno Stamper for this fun card idea!  I used her Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge to create a bright and happy birthday card. When I first looked at the sketch, I immediately knew I was going to use the new Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack for my background.  There are soooooo many cute patterns to choose from!  In the end, I went with the multi-colored polka dots paired with a Watermelon Wonder card base. What's a birthday without a cupcake??  How about a Tip Top Taupe cupcake with  yummy Pool Party frosting!  I love how great Pool Party ink and paper pairs with Bermuda Bay sequins.  I chose that color just because I knew my cupcake had t...

Love You Dad

It's time for a Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge !!  Now that the challenges are every other week you have more time to create and join us!  This week's sketch is so versatile, you can do so many things with it. I had just gotten my April My Paper Pumpkin when I sat down to work on this card.  I played around with some of the extra bits and pieces and ended up with a fun card for Father's Day. For me, one of the exciting challenges with My Paper Pumpkin kits is using every last bit, even the parts you may not think of.  This card is a great example of this....guess where I got the stripes. Yep, I cut out the strips of color that were left over from the punch outs.  Perfect for the sketch! To add a matting to the sentiment, I cut down a blue card base.  I used part of the extra for the bottom strip of paper then saved the rest for another time! And of course the card wouldn't be finished without one of the fun bows from the kit.  It couldn't be easier...

Yee-Haw Birthday Buckaroo!

Image
Can you guess what I have for you today?? Yep, a super fun cowboy birthday card featuring Yee-Haw!  My inspiration came from the fabulous sketch that Mary Jo has for us this week. The banner on her sketch got me thinking about a wooden plank and a cowboy hat to hang on it.  So, I pulled out Yee-Haw and started stamping! Now I tell ya, what little cowboy wouldn't love this card for his birthday???  I know my little guy would.  I may have to do a cowboy party for Ben just so I can use this card...lol! I went with colors that I don't normally use, but they worked great with this design.  I wanted the sentiment to really stand out so I paired Marina Mist with Night of Navy and Hello Honey.  I really love the way the Night of Navy looks on the Marina Mist banner, it's so bold and gorgeous!  To make the unusual pattern, I pulled a stamp from a set that you  wouldn't necessarily think of for this style of card.  I used Build a Bouquet!  The l...

A Simple Wedding Card Plus FREE SHIPPING THIS WEEK!

Image
Hi Stampers!!  I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!!  We had a fantastic time with our family and loved the down time!  Today we are back on track and I have a card to share for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge .  Mary Jo has changed to a new format of running two challenges a month on the first and third Mondays.  So, let's take a look at the first challenge for this month.  This is a great sketch for doing a clean and simple card, so I pulled out an old favorite to work with. Regarding Dahlias is such a timeless stamp set!!  This lovely flower can be used in so many ways so why not a wedding card!  In going along with the clean and simple route, I also went monochromatic.  Bermuda Bay is one of my favorite colors, especially since there are Bermuda Bay sequins!!!!  I love adding sequins to everything so that was a big part of my decision! To make the sentiment from Your Perfect Day stand out, the flower is stamped off once for a...

Happy Monday!!  I've got a quick post for you today for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.   Mary Jo has a really fun sketch for us, take a look.
