Seriously Clean and Simple

Image
I went seriously clean and simple for today's card.  I love the crispness it has! Told ya it was simple!  I don't usually go THIS simple, but this works! The inspiration for this card was two fold.  First, I wanted a simple card to send a nice note to my Aunt.  With it being the end of summer and lots of gardening is still going on, I planned on using GIFT FROM THE GARDEN .  But, I need a little more of a push, so the second bit of inspiration came from the color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary. Not much explaining that needs to be done with this, huh!  The boots look so pretty in Watermelon Wonder with small Pool Party Flowers.  I used the TREE BUILDER PUNCH for that sweet little flower, it's nice to have a tiny flower to use for accents! Ok, before I go, I wanted to remind you of the August Mini Session from Create with Connie and Mary.  There are 5 AWESOME projects ready to go for you, including two 3D and three card sets....all for only $8.95!!  It's quite...

Flower Box

I went in a different direction today and went back to a favorite of mine from the main catalog, GIFT FROM THE GARDEN . I combined it with the new Hearth and Home thinlits in the Holiday catalog that will be released next week.  I love how perfectly matched the frame is with the plant! A planter box, small flowers and leaves really brought the window to life!  The BRICK WALL embossing folder helped with that aspect too! Now how about my inspiration....well, I used the sketch from Try Stampin' -or not- on Tuesday. Is this a great sketch or what!  Now you can see why I immediately thought of the Hearth and Home Thinlits. I can see lots of window frames and potted plants in my future!  There are so many uses, both the stamp set and thinlits are a must have on your wish list! Speaking of GIFT FROM THE GARDEN, it's what I used for my card set in the August Mini Session from Create with Connie and Mary .  The session is LIVE right now which means you get all 5 tutorials right away a...

Gift from the Garden

I'm continuing with a floral theme and bringing you a Gift from the Garden card today. Lots of bold colors on this card!  Cajun Craze is perfect for clay pots and even better paired with Mossy Meadow.  Want a peak at my inspiration??  I used the sketch challenge from Try Stampin'-or not- on Tuesday. My thoughts went directly to Gift from the Garden when I saw the set of three images for this week's sketch. The clay pots in Crushed Curry were stamped and cut out to add over the plants stamped with Pear Pizzaz.  A few tiny pearls and a frill of doily added in gave this simple card design a little extra something! Another plant brings happiness to the inside of the card!  I pulled a sentiment from Sheltering Tree that coordinated beautifully with my card. One last little detail is a watering can on the envelope, you know I love to match!  Alright, it's up to you now!!  How about giving the sketch a try and join the challenge with me!  Just pop by Try Stampin' -or not- ...

Gift from the Garden

How about something new today?  I hope you have been enjoying the fun Sprinkles of Life cards, but let's take a look at another great new set.  Today I am featuring Gift from the Garden along with some other new goodies. You know what??  Everything on this card is NEW!  The stamps, the embossing, the designer paper....all of it!  But before we go any further, let's talk about inspiration.  For this card I looked to the sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary to help me put all these great new products together. My initial thought started with the two panels on the sketch, perfect for designer paper.  So, I went to my stash and pulled the GORGEOUS new paper ENGLISH GARDEN.  I picked a couple of designs then the colors to work with.  I focused on Tip Top Taupe, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzaz.  I just have to say that these three colors are FABULOUS together!! I added texture with the super cool Brick Wall embossing folder.  ...
