Nothing But Words

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is NOTHING BUT WORDS. Since Halloween is Monday I used the words from SPOOKY FUN to make a one layer card that's all about words. Isn't this fun!  I used three colors of ink and layered the three phrases all over the card with a few spooky spiders in between.  I'm normally not a one layer card kinda girl, but I love this idea! The phrases were stacked and scattered, some of the time I stamped off once to give a little variation.  But the best part for me is the fun little spiders throughout.  I put one spider web in the corner then had the rest of the spiders hang from the phrases. I have a full list of supplies below so you can give this a try and make your own SPOOKY FUN card. SUPPLIES: STAMPS:   Spooky Fun INKS:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant PAPER:  Whisper White, Basic Black ACCESSORIES:   Trimmer, Bone Folder, SNAIL Next, let’s check out what th

Halloween Cuties

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is HALLOWEEN CUTIES. Of course the first thing that came to mind was COOKIE CUTTER HALLOWEEN.  What could be cuter than these cute little guys?! I love making cute little 3D items to give away as gifts and these fun little bookmarks really fit the bill! I am going to get each of my kids a new book and add this bookmark to keep track of their place.  It's a great way to give a treat that doesn't involve candy! I kept the bookmarks pretty simple.  The skeleton has a little bit of shading added with a gray marker.  Otherwise, he's simply stamped and added to a large paper clip with a dimensional.  Several years ago i made a bulk purchase of large paperclips with a spot on the front to attach something.  I still have  quite a few left, so I thought it was time to pull them out again! As with the skeleton, I kept this one simple as well with a little shading. The little vampire was the most w

Halloween Treats

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is TRICK OR TREAT SMELL MY FEET so we have lots of ideas for Halloween treat giving. I went with the CURVY KEEPSAKE BOX THINLIT paired with HALLOWEEN NIGHTS SPECIALTY DSP and SPOOKY FUN . To create the treat, you only need to die cut part of the CURVY KEEPSAKE THINLIT .  I did a diagram to show you where I placed my paper. After you cut the two pieces, simply add fast fuse to the small bottom flap and adhere together. I kept the stamping simple so this could be easily duplicated for a party favor and trick or treating.  The sentiment was stamped on a die cut from the MINI TREAT BAG THINLIT and a couple of ghosts were added as well as a spider and his web. A peppermint patty fits nicely inside, I added a little SNAIL to hold it in then tied the top shut with HALLOWEEN NIGHT BAKER'S TWINE. I have a full list of supplies below so you can give this a try and make your own SPOOKY FUN CURVY KEEPSA

Have Some Spooky Fun

SPOOKY FUN is my favorite Halloween set this year.  You could probably tell that already by all the cards I've shared!  Well, I'm back today with a clean and simple card that is a bit different from the previous ideas. The card is mostly monochromatic with Night of Navy being my color of choice.  I wanted to have color in the center of the card that fades out.  I sponged the ink on starting in the center each time and working my way out until the color was how I liked it. IN the center of the card I added the tree die cut and a few ghosts.  Let me tell you, I found out just how fabulous Stampin' Up PAPER SNIPS are, I lost mine and had to use my kids scissors and it was horrible!  I can tell you I will be tearing apart my desk tomorrow in search of them!  Otherwise, I will most definitely be ordering a new pair....these are a must have for fussy cutting...nothing compares! I hope this card showed you that you don't have to do a ton of work to have a cool Halloween card!

Halloween Treat Ideas

I've compiled a bunch of great ideas for Halloween treats so you can prep for upcoming parties.  You can never start too soon! This first one is a card and treat together.  I used the BAKER'S BOX and HALLOWEEN NIGHTS DSP to create a fun BOX to put treats in.  This comes together so quickly since the DSP does a lot of the work for you! For this treat, create a MINI TREAT BAG with DSP and stuff it with goodies.  In this type of bag I like to put a little pad of paper along with pencils and stickers for kids to have something other than candy.  So many options with the awesome HALLOWEEN NIGHTS DSP. The MINI TREAT BAG thinlit can also be used to make half sized treat bags .  These are perfect for pixie stix, pencil or Twizler.  I decorated this set with COOKIE CUTTER HALLOWEEN and it came together so quickly!  Again, the DSP does a lot of the design work for you. If you don't have die cuts to make the previous treats, why not make something simple and do a matchbox style tr

Matchbox Treat

One of the things I love about Halloween is making lots of fun treats to give away.  Today's idea is matchbox style treat featuring JAR OF HAUNTS . These little treats are not only cute, but easy to make.  The Basic Black card stock measured 7 1/4" x 3" and was scored at 2 3/4" and 5 3/4".  For embellishment, I used the Jack-o-Lantern from JAR OF HAUNTS and HALLOWEEN NIGHT SPECIALTY DSP . Inside is a candy with a fun sentiment.  A great way to give a little treat or to even advertise your business.  Slip a business card in with the treat and hand these out everywhere you go! When I get a little time this week I think I'll expand on this idea and do a bunch for everyone at work.  Cookie Cutter Halloween and Spooky Fun would be a couple of other great stamps to use with this idea. Don't forget about more great ideas that will be going live Tuesday is the OCTOBER MINI SESSION from Create with Connie and Mary.  We have FULL tutorials for you, all the wor
