Oh, Happy Day!

I have a fun card to share with you today, it's for the sketch challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday. I saw this sketch and immediately Starburst Sayings popped into my head.  The card came together perfectly. I used the Retro Fresh DSP to decide my color pallet.  I liked this particular design since it was simple yet colorful.  For the card base, I went with Baked Brown Sugar.  The DSP went next with retired polka dot ribbon in Soft Suede. The focal point is the largest stamp from Starburst Sayings.  I used Coastal Cabana ink on Whisper White paper (oops...should have used Very Vanilla).  The image is die cut with the matching framelit then layered on a Baked Brown Sugar Circle. The last detail to be added was the sequins.  I love the versatility of these great little guys.  You can use them off the spool as trim or take them off one by one to add individually.  This was such a fun card to make, I hope you'll join the challenge too!  You...

Starbursts for CCMC

Today I have a fun card to share that I made for this week's Thursday Challenge from Create with Connie and Mary .  They have a great sketch for us this week, take a look. I love the simplicity of this sketch, very easy to stretch your imagination and open possibilities.  Lately, I have been thinking about using products in different ways than intended.  For today's challenge, I used the Good as Gold Card Kit with the Starburst Sayings Bundle. I used two items from the kit, the note card itself and the envelope liner.  The note card was simply cut in half and used as Designer Series Paper.  Next, the gold envelope liner was cut down to make a banner. Two of the Starburst Sayings stamps make up the rest of my focal point.  The largest stamp that contains the sentiment was stamped with Tangerine Tango and die cut with the matching framelit.  The second starburst is stamped in Bermuda Bay and die cut as well.  To add a little interest to the smaller...

Oh, Happy Birthday!

It's Monday and time for the new sketch challenge from Mary Jo at Technostamper.    She has done it yet again and given us a fun sketch to work with this week. I saw this sketch and immediately thought of Starburst Sayings. This is one of those cards that pretty much just made itself!  The card base is Coastal Cabana with a duel layer of Baked Brown Sugar and Retro Fresh DSP.  I used the paper with the arrow design to match the arrow embossing on the Baked Brown Sugar. The focal point is the largest stamp from Starburst Sayings.  It is stamped with Coastal Cabana on Whisper White and die cut with the matching framelit.  To make it stand out, I added a layer of Tangerine Tango which I due cut using a Circle Framelit. To make this a birthday card, I used the Sale-a-bration set, See Ya Later.  I isolated the word "birthday" and stamped it onto a banner of Baked Brown Sugar.  I have a quick little tutorial HERE to show you how to do that. The la...
