Birthday Blooms: Color Me Happy

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring stamps that require coloring. I’ve gone back to a favorite of mine from the Occasions Catalog, BIRTHDAY BLOOMS. You may have noticed that I added in a couple more favorites, COTTAGE GREETINGS and the COTTAGE GREETINGS CARD KIT.  I am happy to say that COTTAGE GREETINGS is carrying over to the new catalog, but the card kit is not.  It's time for new kits, so I need to use up what I have left of this one! I heat embossed the bloom in white on watercolor paper then used an aqua painter to color it in.  I love the combo of Peekaboo Peach and Mossy Meadow, I so hate to see that beautiful green retire!  I fussy cut the flower and added it to the card with dimensionals.  The card itself is all built from supplies in the card kit.  I think the wood paper looks gorgeous with the Peekaboo Peach and Mossy Meadow flower. Now, let’s get to the good stuff, the supply list! SUPPLIES: STAMPS:   Birthda...

Pink Birthday Blooms

I'm back today with another birthday card to share with the BIRTHDAY BLOOMS stamp set.  This one is all about PINK! Yep, on this one I went a little crazy with the aqua painter!!  I really wanted to use the heart border somehow.  So I made a background of embossed hearts that I did a watercolor wash over. For the flower, I heat embossed it as well and washed the color over.  I fussy cut it and added it to the card.  When I originally added it and it didn't have anything underneath, it looked too plain.  So I added a bit of glimmer paper, silver thread and Pool Party Glitter Ribbon. And of course after all was said and done, I had to add in a few sequins!  I used the ones that came with the COTTAGE GREETINGS CARD KIT so I could have both big and little ones.  Lately this kit has been handy for other cards than it was intended! If you are looking for more spring ideas, how about giving the MARCH MINI SESSION from Create with Connie and Mary a try??  We’ve got wonderful ideas ...
