Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Bog Hop!!  All during June we are featuring different FUN FOLD CARDS and this week is the POP OUT SWING CARD! I was so excited about today's card, I have been wanting to try this type of fun fold for awhile now.  It took me a little bit to figure out what I wanted to do, but I think you'll like the end result.  I combined my obsession with shaker cards and this fun fold style to create a fabulous birthday card anyone would love! Today I have a bright and happy birthday card to share featuring featuring Age Awareness.  I made it for the sketch challenge this week at the Creative Challenge Club Blog .  First, let's look at the sketch we are working with. When I saw the squares, my mind went to Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper and the balloon from Age Awareness. I just love the bold and bright colors in the Sweet Taffy DSP.  I started with a Daffodil Delight card base embossed with the Stylish Stripes EF.  Next, I added in square of the DSP with a balloon stamped on Tempting Turquoise.  The focal point was really straight forward as well.  I stamped the sentiment and die cut an oval with the Oval Framelits.  I cut a Melon Mambo matting for the oval with my paper snips.   A quick but fun card to put together for sure! I have to say,  I was not sure about the Photopymer stamps when they first came out.  BUT, now I just LOVE THEM!!  I am really happy that Stampin' Up! has put some in the new catalog since they are so easy to work with.  Age Awareness is such a great set that I have yet to take it off my desk! I don't know about you, but for me this week has flown by!  There has been lots of excitement going on since it's the first week of the Create with Connie and Mary Summer Collection 2014.  I hope you have subscribed, the projects so far are amazing!  And speaking of Create with Connie and Mary , today we have a new sketch for the Thursday Challenge. Since my project for the first week of the Summer Collection 2014 features Age Awareness, I used that set for my card today. Now you can see why I titled today's post "Bright Birthday Wishes"!  I went with very bold and bright colors based off of the new Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper.  The scallops on the side of the Tempting Turquoise is actually one of the Sweet Taffy designs.  It was the inspiration for the whole card!  I used paper snips to cut along the scallop edge and adhered it to the back of the polka dot paper.   The Melon Mambo banner is stamped with the swirly stamp from Age Awareness ...

I have a super fun Age Awareness card for you today for the first sketch challenge from the Creative Challenge Club .  Take a look at the fun sketch Wendy has designed for us. As you all know, I LOVE Age Awareness, so I used it for today's card. Isn't this a happy card!  These bright and cheery colors are perfect for a birthday. I used the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder (LOVE IT!) on the card base to set the tone for the card.  I added in more circles with the sentiment, the balloon and sequins.  The balloon is simply made with a circle framelit and a foot from the owl punch. I have a birthday card again today!  I took a couple days off from them but now they are back!  I actually used the colors from yesterday's Create with Connie and Mary challenge as the starting point for my card. This was quick and easy to put together.....love that!  I used Bermuda Bay as my base.  I took another piece of Bermuda Bay and embossed it with the Large Polka Dots Embossing folder.  I added it to the card with dimensionals to make it stand out. Next, I stamped my sentiment from Age Awareness with Real Red on Whisper White and die cut it with the largest Deco Framelit.  I added a slender matting of Real Red by fussy cutting with my paper snips. Last little element to add was the stars.  I adhered them with little pieces of dimensionals and added a rhinestone to the center. A fun and bold birthday card that took just 10 minutes to complete!
