You're Peachy Keen!

Image
Welcome!  It's Tuesday and I have a card to share for the sketch challenge this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday.  First let me show you the sketch. I took one look and immediately knew what I wanted to do.  I went straight to my Peachy Keen Bundle and Retro Fresh DSP. Isn't this bundle just too perfect for this sketch!  First of all, I love the Retro Fresh DSP.  The swirled design was just what I needed for the scallop edge.  I simply cut one row of scallops off with my paper snips.  I matched it up with the diagonal design and it looked amazing!  I did not add any other designs to the background besides sequins, I wanted to keep it on the simple side. The focal point is simple as well.  I die cut a piece of Baked Brown Sugar with the film strip die.  I also cut one with Very Vanilla so I could use the inside piece to stamp my greeting. The final touches were a gold heart and sequins.  What a fun and quick card!  I hope you will join the challenge with me and stamp a card o

First Birthday for Baby Samuel

It's Monday and time for a new sketch challenge from Mary Jo at Technostamper.  Here's a look at this week's sketch. My little guy turned one on Saturday, so I used this sketch for his birthday card. I paired Blue Ribbon with Birthday Basics DSP to come up with a fun birthday card.  The card base is Bermuda Bay with a layer of Basic Grey.  The bottom of the grey is embossed with the Alphabet Press EF and the top has DSP. A layer of 1/4 " Basic Grey Stitched Grosgrain ribbon hides the separation of DSP and cardstock.  The blue ribbon is added to the left side with dimensionals.  The ribbon itself is stamped with Bermuda Bay on Very Vanilla cardstock and cut out by hand.  I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to center the "1" perfectly in the center of the scallop circle.  I did a little paper piecing for the tails of the ribbon and the "1" to add a little extra color. This was super easy to put together, which I need with a one year old around!  He's a pictu

Thursday Challenge Blog Hop!

Welcome!!  I am part of a fun blog hop today with the Thursday Challenge Design Team from Create with Connie and Mary.   As you may know, Typepad has had issues recently, so we are bringing this week's designs to you directly from our individual blogs.  You should have arrived here from Melissa's awesome blog, she always has amazing cards to share.  If you are starting in the middle somewhere, no need to worry, just keep following the links until you see all the wonderful card designs. This week we have a color challenge, here's a look. I think these colors are beautiful together, here's what I made. I have been wanting to use So Very Grateful flowers on Crumb Cake and this was the perfect opportunity. Calypso Coral was used for the card base with a layer of Basic Grey added.  The final layer is Crumb Cake with flowers embossed in white. Once the flowers were embossed, I used a blender pen and ink pads to add color.  The flowers all have a touch of Calypso Coral and t

Retiring Product Blog Hop

Welcome to the Retiring Product Blog Hop today!  It's an exciting time of year when the Retiring List comes out.  We have to say goodbye to current favorites but we also get to look forward to new ones.  If you've been following all the way through the hop, you have just come from Lisa Rhine's blog .  I have to say that I love everything Lisa does !   She has wonderful bold and beautiful cards. For my card today, I used one of my favorite sets, Secret Garden.  When it first came out, I didn't get super excited about it.  But once I got the stamps in hand and made my first card, I couldn't stop using them! For today, I did a card with a Scallop Tag Topper Punch closure.  Using this unique closure is a wonderful way to take your card to the next level.  This is a Mother's Day card so I used soft spring colors. All of the flowers are embossed in white and colored with a blender pen and ink pads.  I used Crisp Cantaloupe, Daffodil Delight and Coastal Cabana.  I thi
