Bring on the Bling!

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are all about the BLING! Honestly, I wasn't sure where to start!!  So, I sat down and do what I normally do when ideas are slim, I look through my designer paper and what I have on my desk.  This time around, the COTTAGE GREETINGS CARD KIT   stood out to me since it has sequins and silver in it. This is an idea that struck me as I looked at the paper.  Do heat embossing directly on the paper with a big, bold sentiment.  And what could be better for big and bold than BOTANICALS FOR YOU. Since the card has silver all over it, the sentiment needed to stand out.  So, in comes black embossing powder and a ginormous greeting.  I also thought doing a juxtaposition would be cool so that's how the black paper with silver embossing came about. And of course since we are all about bling, I had to add lots of SEQUINS!  And with this card being from the COTTAGE GREETINGS CARD KIT , I needed the envelope that wa...

Coral Botanical Bloom

The new BOTANICAL BLOOMS BUNDLE has a lot going on with it's gorgeous flowers and leaves but is it something to use for a clean and simple card??  The answer is YES! I took just one leaf and one flower to create a crisp and clean card for a friend. This particular flower from the BOTANICAL BUILDER framelits is my favorite by far!  I love the dimension you get with two layers of petals.  I gave them life by taking my stylus and paper piercing mat and rolling over the petals so they'd curl.  I wanted the flower to really stand out, so the Pear Pizzaz leaf was stamped on the card before adding the flower.  It compliments the Calypso Coral bloom beautifully! Along with the simple flower is a simple sentiment.  I isolated part of a stamp from BOTANICALS FOR YOU and added it to the card with BLACK ARCHIVAL INK.   Using black ink really makes the sentiment stand out from the flower.  I think it's the ink I used most lately, it's a real must have! If you've subscribed to...

Shake it Up!

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are all about shaker cards....woo hoo, just my style! I was so excited to make another shaker this week, I didn't know where to start!!  I knew that spring colors were a must so that guided me to this...... Seriously springy, right??  I really love the bold greeting against all the soft colors, really makes it pop! It all started with the Sale-a-bration set BOTANICALS FOR YOU.  I love the small flowers with the ginormous greeting.  BUT, the greeting was way too big for what I needed, so I used a bit of painters tape to mask off the word "just" so that "for you" would fit just right! Inside the shaker I placed small punched flowers along with silver and white sequins.  I also added a few flowers to the front of the card to dress it up a bit.  I think I achieved what I was going for, I really see spring when I look at this happy card!  Check out the supply list, I've added all the...

Just for You

I have a fun little treat for you today featuring another Sale-a-bration set.  This is another must have stamp set, it has so many uses! I whipped up a little treat for Valentine's Day or any other occasion you want.  It just requires a cupcake liner, a gusseted bag and some candy.  All these items were handy in my kitchen so I had this put together in no time. To decorate by treat bag, I used the new Sale-a-bration set BOTANICALS FOR YOU.  I love this big, bold greeting!  Just stamp and die cut a tag...easy peasy! Once all the candy was in the bag and the tag was done, I simply tied the bag shut with the lovely Watermelon Dotted Lace Trim.  One thing extra I did add inside the bag was a few hearts for a confetti effect.  I also added a few to the outside of the bag with a couple of dimensionals.  I love the extra bit of color! We are getting ready for our JANUARY MINI SESSION with a projects using stamp sets from the new Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration brochures !  Get som...
