Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Bog Hop!!  All during June we are featuring different FUN FOLD CARDS and this week is the SHADOWBOX CARD!   You should be arriving from Mary Brown's amazing blog Stamper Camper's Corner , wasn't her card fabulous!!  If you are just starting out here, welcome and enjoy the ride!  Be sure to stop at each blog to check out all of the cool cards we have for you today. I used to do tons of this style card, I love how easy they are to make and they have a nice WOW factor to them.  I actually envisioned this card when I saw OVER THE RAINBOW in the new catalog.  I knew that the word "RAINBOW" would be just perfect for a shadowbox, what do you think?? Perfect rainbow, right??!!  The stamp has just the right curve to fit over an oval framelit! One of the coolest things about this shadowbox is that it folds flat and fits into an envelope easy peasy!  The card is built from two pieces of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card...

See it Again Saturday

Image
Welcome back to See it Again Saturday!  I have another shadowbox card to share.  I did the original card for a customer workshop in February.  Here is the card and you can see the original post HERE with all the details. This original card used Blooming with Kindness.  I love the Saffron and the Celery card stock together.  I actually had two sets of card stock cut for the workshop that weren't used, so I sat down and made a couple new designs with the same card stock. This first one is fairly close to the original.  I changed the greeting to the Happy Birthday from Perfectly Penned.  I also changed the position of the flower on the inside of the card.  For this card I changed to Secret Garden for the flower.  I stamped on Glossy White CS with StazOn Black Ink and colored it in with markers.  For the greeting I used Feel Goods stamped in Soft Suede, there was a leaf stamped off in Certainly Celery first. Thanks for coming by and checki...

Flashback Friday: Dreams and Dragons

Image
Welcome back to Flashback Friday!! Today we journey waaaayyyyy back to 1996!  Dreams and Dragons is the set for this week.  I just LOVE this set!! I bought it before I had kids knowing that if I had a daughter I would use this set!  I am in the process of working on little girl birthday cards for the bookstore, so this set was perfect. I love shadowbox cards, and thought this set would be perfect for that layout.  The front of the card is Pink Pirouette, the back is Pool Party.  I embossed the Pool Party CS with Cloudy day EF, hard to see with this picture.  I used glossy white CS to stamp the images in StazOn Black Ink then colored with markers. Both the birthday greeting at the top and the greeting at the bottom are attached with dimensionals.  This is such a fun card that any little girl would love for her birthday!! I made another cool card with this set that I will share on Sunday.  Thanks so much for looking!! Don't forget....Sale-a-bration ...

Up, Up and Away Birthday

Image
Today I am sharing a fun birthday card that I made awhile ago to sell at the bookstore.  I made a couple and they both went quick, you'll see why. It's a shadowbox card!! How fun is this cute card! This was a simple to make, just a few elements.   I used Up, Up and Away stamp set.  The balloons were hand cut and attached with dimensionals.  The window of the card is a Labels Framelit, looks cloud-like, which goes well with this card design.  I punched out a cupcake top from the Cupcake Builder punch and used the negative space to sponge clouds onto the Bashful Blue card stock with White Craft ink.  I stamped birds in StazOn black after the clouds dried.  The greeting is from Itty Bitty Banners and die cut with the matching framelit.  And that's it!! Here's a side view to show the dimension to the card. Thanks for visiting and checking out today's card.  Tomorrow I will have more to share, so come back!!  If it doesn't move...stamp it!!! ...

LNS Challenge 209

Image
Good Morning! Today's card is for the LNS Challenge #209, the theme is feeling blue.  I was having so much fun making shadowbox cards that I used that as my design.   I chose Bashful Blue and Marina Mist as my blue shades.  I added in a bit of Certainly Celery and Daffodil Delight for just a touch of color.  The back of the card is Bashful Blue and is embossed with the Honeycomb EF from the Spring Catalog.  The front of the card is Whisper White with the flower from Bloomin' Marvelous stamped in Bashful Blue.  I added cut out flowers in Marina Mist to stand out and I stamped the greeting in Marina Mist as well.  The leaves are stamped in Certainly Celery on the front and then I added in Certainly Celery leaves using the Bird punch to accent the cut out flowers.  The hummingbird in Daffodil Delight added just a touch of extra color and really popped, the card looks more finished with it there.   Thank you for stopping and checking out my card!...

Floral Shadowbox

I am doing something different today, a really cool style of card that I have started making and can't stop!! It's a Shadowbox Card.  It has a cool 3D look which I think has a lot of WOW power.  The best part is the card is really simple to make and fits into an envelop with ease! I chose Fabulous Florets for this card, but the new Secret Garden Bundle would be perfect for this!  The back piece of the card is in Certainly Celery and the front is So Saffron.  The Certainly Celery is embossed with the Vine Street EF from the Sale-a-bration catalog. The So Saffron CS is stamped on with So Saffron with the stamp of leaves and flower for a subtle addition of color.  I die cut the center of the So Saffron with the Labels framelit for the window.  Let me give you a closer look at the card. In this picture you can see a little of the Vine street embossing on the Certainly Celery.  I stamped the larger image of leaves with a flower on the Whisper White Label F...
