It's Monday and time for a new Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Technostamper.  Mary Jo did a really fun banner sketch for us today, take a look. I have really been into the new Hardwood background stamp, so it was the source of my inspiration.  Here's where that inspiration took me. Doesn't Petal Parade look amazing with the Hardwood background?  I almost used the flowers from So Very Grateful, but felt the bold Petal Parade flowers would work better.  Since the card base is Crumb Cake I wanted bold colors for the flowers to really make the focal point "pop". The first element I added to the card was a panel of Hardwood stamped on Crumb Cake with Soft Suede.  This panel was actually an extra piece left from another card, it's nice to use up those left over bits and pieces! The banner was done collage style.  I took a piece of 4 1/4"  x 5 1/2"  Whisper Whitecard stock and randomly stamped the flowers with Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and ...

Welcome!  It's Thursday and time for an new challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  This week is a color challenge:  Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, and Smokey Slate. I needed to make sympathy cards for the bookstore and these colors were a great starting point.   I decided on Petal Parade, felt they would look great with this color palette.  The card base is Smokey Slate with one of the flowers stamped in Smokey Slate.  The center panel of Whisper White has Daffodil Delight and Island Indigo flowers stamped randomly. The sides of the panel have a scallop trim in Island Indigo cut with the Large Scallop Edgelit.  To dress it up a bit, large pearls are added in between each scallop. For the sentiment, I went back and forth before finally settling on stamping directly on a flower.  I tried die cutting a Deco Label with the sentiment, but it was too busy.  The background stamping has so much going on that it just didn't flow well. ...

Welcome back!  It's Monday and time for a new sketch challenge from Mary Jo at Technostamper.  We have another great sketch, take a look. I wanted to use colors that I haven't touched as much lately, so I based by card around Rich Razzleberry.  It's one of my favorites, but I haven't used it in awhile.  I paired it with Coastal Cabana and Crumb Cake so I could use the Fresh Prints DSP Pack. The card base is Crumb Cake with a layer of Rich Razzleberry embossed with the new Scallops EF.  I took a sheet of Whisper White and randomly stamped the flowers from Petal Parade with Rich Razzleberry and Coastal Cabana inks. I used the Circle Framelit to cut out a section that I liked.  The die I used was the fifth in from the outside. Once the circle was die cut, I adhered it to a piece of Coastal Cabana and hand cut a slender matting around the circle.  I added it to the card base then started on the greeting.  I cut a piece of Whisper White 1" x 4 1/4" and...

Each Saturday during the collection we have a card challenge, this week it is a color challenge. I love these colors together, they are all soft colors that are perfect for spring.  I went a bit abstract with my card and had lots of fun in the process! I love the randomness of this card, so much fun to create!  I used the Just Sayin' Bundle for my greeting which is the focal point.  It was stamped with Pistachio Pudding ink on Pistachio Pudding card stock then die cut.  I set it to the side while I worked on the background images.  First I stamped splatters from Gorgeous Grunge with Sahara Sand Ink.  I also stamped the largest flower from the Sale-a-bration se...

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.  We have three great colors to work with, take a look. These are colors that I may not have put together otherwise.  I wasn't sure what I wanted to do at first, but after I got stamping was very pleased with the results. Isn't this fun!  Bold, bright and will hopefully make someone feel better!  I love the bold stamps with these colors.  Tangerine Tango is a color that I don't use often.  It looks wonderful with the Baked Brown Sugar and Coastal Cabana.  I think this is now one of my favorite color changes to date! I stamped the flowers on the lower right corner, no specific pattern, I just wanted it to flow across. The greeting is from A Dozen Thoughts, stamped with Coastal Cabana.  The scallop boarder beneath it is in Baked Brown Sugar.  The whole thing is die cut with a circle framelit then framed with Coastal Cabana Stretch Trim.  The final touch is a few Co...

I have a very bright and happy card for this week's sketch challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday.  First, let me show you the sketch real quick. Petal Parade was still out on my desk from another card, so I went with that as my inspiration. I got to break out the new Watercolor Wonder DSP for this card.  I went through and looked at all the designs and decided on the ones with Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango.  I cut the strips of paper 3 1/2" x 1/2" and created a banner end with the Hexagon Punch.  The sentiment "just because" from A Dozen Thoughts is stamped with Calypso Coral on the fourth banner.  The card base is actually Calypso Coral, not Tangerine Tango and it's embossed with the upcoming Sale-a-bration embossing folder called Decorative Dots. The flower from Petal Parade is done in two layers.  The bottom layer is in Daffodil Delight and cut out by hand.  I added a little curve to it with my bone folder to give a bit of dimension.  The...
