Hello Spring

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is HELLO SPRING so we are featuring FLORAL projects! I have been all about cards lately.  So to switch things up a little, I made a BAKER'S BOX for you today! Doesn't this just scream spring!!  I almost made a Mini Treat Bag, but I thought the BAKER'S BOX was perfect for a grown up Easter gift that I need for Sunday. I wanted light and happy spring colors, so BIRTHDAY BOUQUET DSP was used for the box.  To keep the sentiment bold, I went with the EXPRESSIONS NATURAL ELEMENTS .  The "celebrate" element hangs over the sides a little, but I like how that looks! I kept the flower monochromatic with a layering of Blushing Bride BOTANICAL BUILDER flowers.  I added several leaves as well in different colors to make the flower larger and bolder. Check the supply list below so you can make your own BOTANICAL BLOOMS BAKER'S BOX!! SUPPLIES: DIE CUTS:  Baker's Box Thinlits, Bot...

Easter Treats

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are all about EASTER TREATS! Last week I made a cute Playful Pals Easter card, so this week I made fun treats to give with it! Are these just too cute or what???!!!  I knew that getting the PLAYFUL PALS bundle was going to be worth it!  The little pyramid treat boxes are perfect for the bunny of course, but the carrot is just so fun I want to make tons of them to give away! Let's talk about the carrot first.  I used Tangelo Twist for the gorgeous orange color...perfect for a carrot!  I used the wavy stamp included with the Playful Pals set to add the wave pattern.  Gives the carrot a bit of realism, don't you think? BUT what about the fabulous carrot top!  That's where the Cherry on Top Cotton Paper comes in.  It's a thinner paper than the typical cardstock, so it rolls together without bunching.  I cut a 12 x 1 1/4" strip and cut all along the one side with FRINGE SCISSORS .  Then ju...

Hoppy Easter

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are all about EASTER CARDS! I don't know about you, but I am SO.READY.FOR.SPRING!  And with Easter being early this year at the end of March, I really have spring fever right now!!  So I went with lots of pastels for today and a super cute PLAYFUL PALS bunny. Isn't this just too stinkin' cute!!!  I saw this Easter egg idea on Pinterest and knew it would be the perfect backdrop for a bunny. I die cut an oval from Whisper White to place over four layers of color stamped with the large watercolor stamp in WORK OF ART .  The bunny is layered over top and then lots of little flowers and the sentiment are next.  To get this unique sentiment, I used a most handy tool, the ALPHABET ROTARY STAMP .  I love having this around for occasions such as this where the sentiment I need doesn't exist in the catalog.....a real must have! Now let's get to the supply list so you can make your own "Hopp...

Eggstra Spectacular Easter

Image
It’s so hard to believe that this is the end of Week 3 of the Spring Collection at Create with Connie and Mary.   I have really enjoyed looking at all the card creations this last week.   My card set featured Eggstra Spectacular, so I made today’s challenge card with that set as well.   First, here’s a look at the sketch. I love all the banners on the sketch, perfect for the new Banners Framelits.  For my card, I used Eggstra Spectacular and Watercolor Wonder DSP, it's been my focus for the week. This card has Calypso Coral for the card base which is embossed with Decorative Dots EF.  It's nice to have a bit of texture along with the DSP.  All three banners were cut with the new Banners Framelits and topped off with Daffodil Delight Grossgrain Ribbon. The main focal point is done like yesterday's Easter Treat.  I cut the edge off a doily to add as a ruffle under the Daffodil Delight circle.  The bunny was stamped on Whisper White and lightly out...

An Eggstra Special Treat

Image
Welcome!  Today is the debut of my card set for Week 3 of the Spring Collection at Create with Connie and Mary.  I so wish I could share it with you, but the collection is for subscribers only.  It's not too late to join in the fun, you can find out more about the collection and how to subscribe HERE . Today I am sharing a fun treat made with the same stamps I used for the card set, Eggstra Spectacular.  I am recycling a button container like the project I shared last year using Oh, Whale.   Isn't this a fun way to recycle?!  I have a drawer that is just full of empty containers waiting to be turned into a treat.  This button container on a lollipop stick is one of my favorite ideas.  For this one, I used a doily to embellish the container.  I cut the center out and only used the outer scallop edge to glue to the top. Next layer is Watercolor Wonder DSP cut with a Circle Framelit.  On top of that is the bunny stamped on Whisper White an...

A Soft and Subtle Easter

Today's share is a card that kind of made itself.  I had an idea of what I wanted, then it turned out completely different.  I absolutely love this card though, and love that it just kind of "happened"! I had originally planned to use the embossing folder then add a few pearls to the design, a flower and an Easter Greeting.  Well, I ended up with something a bit different.  I wanted to try the whitewashing look that I've seen on idea boards so I just started out with flowers.  I used Almost Amethyst, a retired color, because it is a beautiful soft color for Easter.  When I tried putting just pearls and and the flower and greeting it was too plain for me.  The doilies were sitting on my desk so I thought, leaves, flower, doily!   I even ended up stamping the greeting on the doily, seemed like the only good place to put it.  The flower was fun to experiment with.  I embossed in white on Crumb Cake.  I painted the flower with Staz...
