Holiday Home for CCMC331

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all have a wonderful day with your friends and family! I have a card to share with you today for the Thursday challenge from Create with Connie and Mary .  Here's a look at this week's sketch. I love the simplicity of this sketch!  I wanted to do something a little unexpected, so I flipped the sketch upside down and used the tall house from Holiday Home for my banners. Is this too fun or what!!!  I pondered different designer papers and just didn't get a good feel from them.  So, I looked through my stamps and came across the tall house in Holiday Home that mimicked the banner and knew that was my card! All three houses were heat embossed in white on different colors of cardstock.  I went with Basic Gray, Smokey Slate and Soft Sky.  All three colors look beautiful against the Lost Lagoon card base that was embossed with the Lucky Stars embossing folder. Below the houses is a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper (LOVE IT!) and a small bow f

Ornamental Pine for TSSC342

Welcome back for another card!  I have a really cool one to share for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  First, let's look at the wonderful sketch Mary Jo has for us. When I first looked at the sketch, I thought the circle looked a bit like a porthole. That got me thinking about a window to see inside the card.  So, I pulled out Ornamental Pine and came up with this card. The window turned out just as I planned with the pine branch showing through. The card started with a Garden Green base that I cut a circle out of with the Circle Framelits. Next, a piece of window sheet and a Chocolate Chip frame cut from the Circle Framelits were added.  Trim the Tree Designer Paper and the sentiment went on below the window.  A pine cone along the side of the window finished off the front . The inside was quick to put together.  The pine branch was stamped in the center to show through the window.  I inked up the stamp with Garden Green then used a baby wipe to clean off the branch so I c

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I had a busy one, but I still have two cards to share with you today.  The first card is for the sketch challenge from the Creative Challenge Club. I kept true to the sketch and did a square card using the scallop square from the Square Framelits Collection. Isn't this a beautiful frosty card!  Pool Party is simply perfect for wintertime. The card base is embossed with the On Point embossing folder for a little texture.  A layer of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper adds a bit of sparkle along with a silver foil tree. I also added a little texture to the tree with the Northern Flurry embossing folder.  The silver foil looks simply amazing with the snowflake embossed on it! A little bit of All is Calm Designer Paper is underneath the simple sentiment from Good Greetings. Final touch and splash of color is a sweet little red cardinal just above the sentiment. I really love how pretty this card is with Pool Party, glimmer and a litt

Eat, Drink and Give Thanks!

Thursday is here so I have a card to share for this week's sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary. These colors are just perfect for Thanksgiving and fall.  I just got Holiday Invitation and I knew exactly what I wanted to do. It's been forever since I've made a card with the Scallop Tag Topper closure and I knew this set would work perfectly with this style. Blackberry Bliss is such a rich, deep color so I used it for the card base.  I punched the scallop edges and scored the card to give me a good size front panel to stamp on.  A layer of Hello Honey went on the panel first, then a layer of Whisper White. The sentiment went on the paper first in Blackberry Bliss.  "Give Thanks" got stamped one word at a time to stack them.  Having this set in photopolymer makes both inking and stamping them individually a breeze!  Once the sentiment was in place, I stamped and die cut two pumpkins from Fall Fest and placed them in the center....perfect fit! With style

Happy Tuesday!  Today I have a cheerful Holiday Home card to share for the sketch challenge this week from Try Stampin' on Tuesday . I wasn't too sure about what to use for this sketch, so I looked through my stamps and decided to use Holiday Home and make two houses. I think this card looks so warm and inviting, don't you??  The beautiful Trim the Tree Designer Paper Stack has such gorgeous designs.  The red plaid just made this card perfect! Both houses were colored with blendabilities and die cut to add over the layer of Silver glimmer paper acting as snow. Santa and his sleigh ride above the houses with the sentiment stamped in Cherry Cobbler below.  I didn't add any extra bling, I felt the card was perfect just sweet and simple as you see it. Designer paper is such a wonderful way to bring life to your cards.  The Trim the Tree Designer Paper Stack has been so wonderful to work with!!  Now it's your turn!  I hope you will give the challenge a try and join me!

A Strawberry Slush Birthday for TSSC341

Welcome back!  I have a really bright and fun card to share with you that I made for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Technostamper.   I love this week's sketch, Mary Jo always has great ideas to work with! I wanted a bold and bright card, so I used a cute set that I've had forever but have yet to put ink to. Is this a fun birthday card or what?!  I combined About the Label with High Five to create a bold and bright card. The Strawberry Slush card base was embossed with the Lucky Stars embossing folder.  Next, a piece of Whisper White on which the sentiment and arrows from High Five were stamped. A strip of silver glimmer paper added a bit of sparkle, along with a few scattered stars around the card. The gift bag was stamped, hand cut and added to the glimmer paper with Tombow glue. The "HB2U" in the center of the package was made in two steps.  First, I stamped "HB2U" with Strawberry Slush on Whisper White.  I punched it out and trimmed down the

October Paper Pumpkin for CCC22

It's Monday and I have two fun cards to share with you today.  The first card is for the sketch challenge from the Creative Challenge Club . I have yet to use the October My Paper Pumpkin kit, so I challenged myself to make today's card with as much of the kit as possible. So, what do you think??  Did I meet my goal?  I am pretty pleased that I was able to incorporate a stamp and two of the paper elements from the kit. I wanted to have a muted color for the card base so I went with the Kraft Cardstock on page 192 of the catalog.  It matches beautifully with the Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper, so I used the polka dot pattern for the oval.  But before I added anything to the card, I stamped one of the feathers from Four Feathers lightly over the card base with Crumb Cake ink. Before adding the oval, I placed one of the pie labels along the left side for one of the sketch elements.  Then, the oval went over top and the die cut feathers were added. The sentiment was

It's Thursday so I have a card to share with you for the Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge. I have been into fall cards lately, so I went with a monochromatic card using the Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper for inspiration. I haven't used Blackberry Bliss much, so I went with it for my patterned paper.  The card came together easily from there.  I used the designer paper along the bottom, I really like the angled look from the sketch.  Next, I stamped two strips of Blackberry Bliss with the Hardwood background stamp. The sentiment from Merry Everything was stamped with Blackberry Bliss on Whisper White and die cut with a circle framelit.  I added it just above the designer paper then placed the strips of woodgrain along the left side.  Lastly, a leaf was placed below the circle with a dimensional.  To keep the leaf from being too dark, I stamped off once. I hope you are feeling inspired to stamp!  All the details about the challenge can be found at Create with
