Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop: Bokeh Technique

Image
Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  For the month of May, we will featuring techniques, starting with the very popular Bokeh effect. You should be arriving from Mary's fabulous blog Stampercamper's Corner , wasn't her card gorgeous?!!  Be sure to hop all the way around so you don't miss anything, we have lots of great ideas for you! I personally LOVE this very popular technique, it's so fun to experiment with!  I actually did two cards to share since I was having such a blast playing around with different color combinations. Each card is soft and pretty but unique.  Let's take a closer look! Can I just say how much I love these colors together....perfect for a sweet baby!  On watercolor paper I combined Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party and Pistachio Pudding for a yummy look that reminds me of rainbow sherbert! Pool Party stars added with the decorative mask tie in nicely with the focal point.  The sentiments from Celebrate Today wer...

Celebrate Baby

It's Monday and time for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge !!  We have a really fun sketch this week, check it out. Isn't this a super cute design!   I used Celebrate Today for my card, the balloon takes the place of the square in the sketch. I love how this turned out, a very sweet baby card!  I pulled inspiration from the Lullaby Designer Series Paper and used Coastal Cabana for my card base.  Two different designs of the designer paper made up the stripes and balloon. The card base has stars sponged in Coastal Cabana with the star decorative mask.  I also used Coastal Cabana for the bunting across the balloon.  It was so easy to make since there is a matching set of framelits for Celebrate today, so no fussy cutting! I added a few Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper stars that were made with the Star Confetti Punch.  I also added a tail to the balloon with Coastal Cabanana thick bakers twine. I ended up liking this design so much, that I made ...

Celebrate Today!!

Today I have a fun birthday card to share using the new set Celebrate Today.  I sooooo love this set and matching framelits!!  The possibilities are endless, so I knew it was the set to use for the sketch this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday . I pondered this one a little, then decided to go with three images in descending order. I started out with the Best Year Ever designer paper from the Sale-a-bration catalog for my color inspiration.  I brought out the colors from this chevron style design in the balloon, sentiment and ribbon. First I made the balloon with the coordinating die cut and added a banner stamped in Coastal Cabana.  The sentiment was stamped next to the balloon with Coastal Cabana ink as well.  I love that the photopolymer allows me to stack the words and get perfect placement!  Lastly, I added in the ribbon from Sale-a-bration and a few bits of bling.  A bow from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlet set went along the bottom of the balloon and a...

Celebrate Baby!

It's Monday and time for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Techno Stamper.   I love Mary Jo's sketch for this week, it has so many possibilities! I made a card with the fun new set Celebrate Today.  I really love this set, you have sooooo many design options!! For today, I went with a baby card. How sweet is this?!!  I pulled my color inspiration from the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper in the Sale-a-bration Catalog.  Not only is the paper gorgeous, but it's FREE too!  I started out with a Pool Party card base and a layer of designer paper. Another layer of Pool Party became the basis of the focal point.  I sponged stars with the star decorative mask to give a soft pattern behind the balloon.  The So Saffron balloon was die cut with the matching framelit (gotta love that!) and stamped with mini stars.  As I've said before, photopolymer is my new favorite style of stamp because you can SEE where you STAMP!!  It made stamping the ...
