Fall is in the Air

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is FALL IS IN THE AIR. For my fall card, I went back to the Annual Catalog and combined an older set with a newer set. Isn't it great when you can use a stamp set for multiple holidays! I kept it simple and used Crushed Curry with Cajun Craze to create a fall inspired wreath with WONDROUS WREATH and BANNERS FOR YOU .  I almost added in Pumpkin Pie, but decided against it in the end.  I did use Soft Suede as my third color for the card base and banner outline to give a little more depth to the card. To give a little more of a fall feel to the card, I added in LINEN THREAD to make a bow and hang the wreath.  This last little touch was just what the card needed! Below is the supply list and color inspiration so you can create your own fall inspired card. Candy Cane Treats

Image
I've got a quick treat for you today that is easy and FUN!  It also gives another use for the MINI TREAT BAG THINLIT. I told you these were fun!  This is a great way to give a small gift to teachers, mail carriers, etc. I used the smaller die from the treat bag and cut out two to adhere together to create the pocket for the candy cane.  To make it a little fancier, I cut a 2" x 6" piece of Whisper White and punched a tag at the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. This long tag is a great place to write "to and from" for your gift.  It also secures the candy cane in the pocket.  I used a couple of glue dots to adhere the candy cane to the tag and added gold ribbon to the top. If you are looking for a treat idea, this is the way to go!  There are so many ways to embellish and lots of great designer paper patterns to choose from! Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!!  I hope you all have a most wonderful day!  Even though it's a busy day, I have a card to share for the sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary .  Here's a quick look at the sketch. I made a Christmas card (of course!!) for today using Wondrous Wreath.  This is actually the card I gave to my parents this year. I kept this pretty simple by using scraps and extras from my desk.  I had an extra wreath from another project and a whole bunch of Trim the Tree scraps laying about.  It all came together quickly as a result!  The only thing I had to do was stamp and die cut the sentiment and die cut a Cherry Cobbler bow.  I love it when a card comes together so quickly! I hope you have a chance to join the challenge and make a card with me.  Just visit Create with Connie and Mary for all the details plus more great samples from the Design Team. Thanks for visiting!  Merry Christmas! Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Wondrous Wreath for TSSC345

Welcome!  It's Monday and time for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Technostamper .  Here's a look at the fun sketch Mary Jo has for us this week. I love this sketch, but I wanted to do something a little different.  I flipped the sketch and used a standard size card base in place of this longer one. Isn't this bright and cheerful?  I love using non-traditional colors for Christmas cards, it makes me smile....especially when pink is involved! I started out with a Pink Pirouette card base stamped with the Hardwood background in the same color.  A banner of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper comes next to add a some sparkle. The wreath is my favorite part of the whole card.  The leaves are stamped with Bermuda Bay and Pool Party then topped with Strawberry Slush berries.  A Silver Foil bow adorns the top with a small circle of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper in the center. The wreath is popped up with dimensionals on a piece of Strawberry Slush that has the sentiment f

Holiday Collection Week 3 Blog Hop!

Image
Welcome!!  It's the end of week 3 of the Create with Connie and Mary Holiday Collection and we have a great blog hop for you!  Each Design Team member has made a card with the set they used in week three, and I know you will want to make your way around to see them all.  The projects for the collection have been out of this world!  If you're not a subscriber, it's not too late to join in the fun.  You can find all the details on Create with Connie and Mary. You should be getting here from Melissa's blog, she always has amazing cards and projects to share.  My set for this week was Wondrous Wreath.  I absolutely LOVE this set!! So much versatility with the holidays and ways you can use it.  So, instead of making just one card for the blog hop today, I made a set of 4 gift cards. The wreath fits just perfectly on the front of a 3" x 3" card.  I love to have these little cards on hand to tuck into gift bags.  Each card is unique, so let's take a closer

Wondrous Wreath Christmas Tags

Yay it's Friday!!  I am so glad the weekend is here, it's been another busy week here at my house!  I have a quick project to share with you today using Wondrous Wreath.  I chose that set because today my third project for the Create with Connie and Mary Holiday Collection went live!  This collection is full of amazing ideas to make your holidays brighter.  If you are not a subscriber, there is still time!  Just go to Create with Connie and Mary for all the details! Now, on to the set of gift tags.  I wanted to try a new color combination for the wreath, so I went with brighter colors. Can you guess what colors I used??  I went with Pistachio Pudding and Wild Wasabi for the leaves and Strawberry Slush for the berries.  Isn't this a fabulous combination?! I ended up making a set of 6 of theses tags to use.  They are so bright and happy, I just love them! The tag started out with the wreath die cut and layered on a Strawberry Slush flower from the Floral Frames Collection.

Wondrous Wreath for CCMC324

Welcome back!  Today I have another Wondrous Wreath card to share.  This one is for the color challenge from Create with Connie and Mary. I used last week's sketch and today's colors to come up with this fun wreath card. This was the card I had planned to make for last week's sketch, but my stamps weren't here yet.  Since I had this idea already and the colors worked, I went ahead and made it. The card base is Baked Brown Sugar with a Woodgrain embossed layer offset.  Two banners in Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler embossed with Stylish Stripes make up the next layer. The wreath is Garden Green with Cherry Cobbler berries.  A bow die cut from Trim the Tree Designer Paper adorns the top.  Joy die cut from Gold foil paper is along the bottom.  A few stars (gotta have some!) sprinkled around complete the card. Now it's your turn!  I hope you will join the challenge with me.  You can find all the details plus more great samples at Create with Connie and Mary.     While
