Letterpress Winter for CCMC333

Image
Welcome!  I have a beautiful wintery card to share with you today for the Thursday Challenge from Create with Connie and Mary .  Here's the fun sketch we have to work with this week. I love when the designs include an unusual shape, makes the challenge all the more fun!  I pictured snowflakes when I saw the buttons, so I used Letterpress Winter for my card today. I was pleasantly surprised with how quickly my vision came together.  The first thing I did was pick out the Designer paper to use.  I went with one of the Smokey Slate designs from All is Calm DSP to contrast with the Lost Lagoon card base.  The first thing I added to the card was a strip of All is Calm Washi Tape.  I love that the stripes match perfectly with the sketch. For the focal point, I layered Whisper White over the Designer paper and added my sentiment.  I placed snowflakes along the bottom, falling over the edge of the paper.  The first snowflake is stamped with Soft Sky ...

Envelope Punch Board Gift Card Holder

Image
Today I have a fun project to share with you for the Thursday Challenge from Create with Connie and Mary .  Instead of a card this week, we are doing gift cards to get ready for the holidays. I have been wanting to try out the gift card holders that I've seen made with the envelope punch board, so that's what I've made for you today. I love how quick and easy this was to put together.  All it took was a piece of  5 1/2" x 5 1/2" All is Calm Designer Series Paper and a little embellishment.  Once the sides were scored on the envelope punch board, I adhered the bottom flaps and my gift card holder was ready. The pocket is embellished with the snowflakes from the Snowflake Flip Card Thinlet.  It adds a bit of sparkle to the front and covers up the folds so the holder looks neat and tidy.  The bottom snowflake was cut using the flip card thinlet.  You simple cut a square of paper to fit the snowflake and run it through one direction.   Then turn the p...

Letterpress Winter

Image
It's Monday and as usual I have two cards to share.  This first one is for the Creative Challenge Club , they have a great sketch for us. I pondered this one a little and finally decided to go with the snowflakes from Letterpress Winter. The snowflakes are layered in a series of circles.  The first snowflake was stamped with Soft Sky on Whisper White and die cut with a circle framelit.  To add some sparkle, the second snowflake is a silver glimmer circle with a silver foil die cut snowflake layered on top.  TIP: I've heard from quite a few people that getting anything to stick to glimmer paper is difficult.  I simply use Tombow Multi-purpose adhesive on whatever I want to glue to the glimmer paper.  Let the glue sit for just a  minute or so so it gets a little tacky and it will stick to the glimmer paper.  Be sure to let it dry thoroughly and it will stay in place!  I finished off the card with the sentiment from Cheerful Tags and a few sil...

Holiday Collection Week 2 Blog Hop!

Image
It's the end of week 2 (already!) of the Holiday Collection from Create with Connie and Mary and we have a BLOG HOP for you!  Each Design Team member has made a card with the set they used in week two, and I know you will want to make your way around to see them all.  The projects for the collection have been out of this world!  If you're not a subscriber, it's not too late to join in the fun.  You can find all the details on Create with Connie and Mary. You should be getting here from Melissa's blog, she always has amazing cards and projects to share.  My set for the week was Letterpress Winter paired with the Snowflake Flip Card thinlet Die. This awesome set of die cuts is so fun to work with.  I am in the process of planning a Frozen birthday party for my daughter, so I went ahead and made her invitation a flip card.  She sat next to me and "directed" me with what she wanted.  Of course, the colors are very important...frosty cool colors make...

Letterpress Winter Party Favor

Image
Yay!  It's Friday!  I've had quite a week...been so busy I am glad the weekend is almost here!  Today my second project for the Create with Connie and Mary Holiday Collection went live and I am so excited about it!  For those of you who haven't subscribed yet, you can find out all the details at Create with Connie and Mary .  This session is full of AMAZING holiday ideas that you don't want to miss! Now, on to my Letterpress Winter party favor.  I just got the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlet Die (it's AWESOME) and I wanted to make something right away!  Since my daughter's birthday is around the corner, I designed a party favor for her Frozen themed party. Too cute, huh!  The box assembles very easily, so I know it will be no big deal to make a bunch. Stampin' Up! did me a real favor this year with all the beautiful products and colors that coordinate with a Frozen birthday party.   The All is Calm Designer Series Paper is just the right colo...

Festival of Trees

Image
It's Thursday and time for a new challenge from Create with Connie and Mary .  This week we have a great sketch to work with. I made a Festival of Trees card with frosty colors inspired by the All is Calm Designer Paper. The Lost Lagoon card base has light stamping of the snowflake from Letterpress Winter.  I didn't want it to be too plain, but I also didn't want it to be too busy.  All is Calm Designer Paper makes up the next part of the design.  A polka dot circle and strip of Smokey Slate trees look great against the darker Lost Lagoon card. The Soft Sky tag was made with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  A few snowflakes and sentiment from Cheerful Tags are stamped directly on the tag.  The tree from Festival of Trees is Basic Gray embossed with white.  A sparkly star add just the right touch of sparkle.  The finishing touch is a bit of 5/8" white organza ribbon and a rhinestone. Well, I hope you feel inspired to join the challenge with me!...

Lots of Silver for TSSC335

Now for the second card I promised today.  This one is for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Technostamper .  Here's Mary Jo's sketch for this week. For this sketch, I went back to Christmas and used Letterpress Winter with All is Calm Designer Paper. The card you see is quite a bit different than what I originally planned.  When I saw the layout, I though the pretty rectangular scroll frame would be perfect for this, but I just couldn't get it to look right.  So, I went with embossed silver foil paper and LOVE the way it turned out! The card base of Lost Lagoon has two layers of All is Calm paper.  Over top is the layer of silver foil paper embossed with the Northern Flurry embossing folder. Once the foil was in place, the last few elements were added.  The sentiment from Letterpress Winter was stamped on Soft Sky with Lost Lagoon ink.  It was punched out with a 1" circle punch and layered on a 1 1/4" circle of Silver Glimmer paper.  A b...

Letterpress Winter for CCMC323

Image
I know that it's October, but I have a snowflake card to share today.  I saw this card in my head clear as day after looking at the sketch for this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge. I just got the the Letterpress Winter stamp set (awesome!!) and was anxious to put ink on it! Now this is one of those cards that looks so much better in person.  The picture came out good, but in person the card looks amazing.  What makes it so spectacular (for me anyway!) is the Silver Foil banner embossed with snowflakes. Here's a better look at the elements.  The first banner is the embossed silver foil (love it!) then comes the second banner .  This one is the foil embossed specialty paper from the All is Calm Designer Paper.  To top off the banners is the gorgeous snowflake stamped Soft Sky with Lost Lagoon ink.  I fussy cut the snowflake and adhered it with dimensionals.  Rhinestones around the snowflake add a finishing touch. Since there i...
