A Dressy Little Favor

Image
Today I've got a cute little party favor to share with you.  I have seen lots of great examples of these floating around.  I am finally getting around to trying one thanks to Fran Kennedy's tutorial .   It was easy peasy to make.  Here's my version. I used Pretty in Pink CS embossed with the Lacy Brocade EF.  I added in some retired organza ribbon and some pearls to embellish the dress a bit.  I am going to put some chocolate miniatures in the center as a party favor.  These are super fun to make, so many ways this can be used! I will be trying out some other designs to show you in the future and come up with some ideas for goodies to put inside.  Check out Fran's tutorial, just click on her name at the beginning of the post. Oh, Whale for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge

Image
It's Monday already and time for a new sketch from Technostamper.  Here is a picture of the sketch for this week. I came up with a card really quick with this sketch.  I had Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP on my desk so I decided on a fun baby card using the DSP and Oh, Whale stamp set. I just LOVE this card!!  The Sunshine and Sprinkles paper is so sweet!  I used Marina Mist for my base card with DSP layered on it.  The Whisper White is embossed with the Cloudy Day EF and the corners are rounded as in the sketch. More DSP and a cute die cut whale follow along with the sketch.  I added in a greeting from Oh, Whale that was die cut with a Bitty Banners framelit. The final touch was die cut stars from the matching whale sizzlet.  I think the stars really make the card look finished.  I had so much fun this sketch!! I hope you will join in the fun too and hop over to Technostamper to link up a card you make using this week's sketch.  There are more great ideas from the other members of

See It Again Saturday: A Mother's Day Card

Image
It's Saturday, so time for a card re-make.  Today's card is a re-make of my boo-boo card from Sunday.  Here is the original card, you can see the entire blog post HERE . I just loved how this card turned out, so I wanted to make a second card.  I wanted a little something different, so I changed up the accent color.  Take a look. For the re-make card, I used Wisteria Wonder.  I added in punched flowers again plus a butterfly from Bloomin' Marvelous.  I love how the Wisteria Wonder compliments the Pear Pizzaz.  Thankfully we are keeping both colors for the new catalog!! I hope you liked the little change up of color today.  Be sure to head back over here for more card samples, there is a great sketch coming up on Monday for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge at Technostamper.  See you then! Flashback Friday: Let's Re-visit 2006 for It All Adds Up

Image
Welcome to Flashback Friday!! Time to go back in time to 2006 for the cute set It All Adds Up. I must admit, I thought this set was soooo cute when I got it, then I only used it once! Here's the stamp set.  So, I used it for today's card since it needed some love, plus I am having my baby boy today so I thought a baby card was the perfect choice. Isn't this too cute!  I used Marina Mist for the base card, embossed with the Chevron EF.  I added in a strip of DSP from retired Nursery Nest.  Basic Gray was used for the images and the greeting to contrast with the gray in the DSP.  To get a bit of dimension, I stamped the equation in gray, then stamped it in white to punch out the images and popped them up with dimensionals. This was a simple card once I figured out what I wanted to do.  Took me a minute to get the equation to look the way I wanted it.  Overall a fun flashback card for the day!  Baby Samuel will be here today, and boy am I glad!  Looking forward to being

A Pinwheel Thank You for CCMC249

Today's card is made using the great sketch for the challenge this week at Create with Connie and Mary .  Here is the sketch for the week. Since I've had the pinwheel sizzlet out this week, I made a card using it and more of the Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP that I am loving. I used Marina Mist CS as my base card, embossed with Cloudy Day EF.   The Whisper White CS layer is also embossed with Cloudy day, and blends in nicely.  I wanted to represent nature in the layers, so I added in layers of DSP from Sunshine and Sprinkles.  The yellow for the sun, green for the grass, and the blue with clouds for sky.  Finally, a fun pinwheel is added to the top of the layers and a greeting from Wishes Your Way.  This card is fun and looks like Spring to me!!  I hope you will join us for the sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary .  Just hop over to their blog for all the details and to add your card! More Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party

Image
As I said yesterday, I am LOVING the look of Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party together.  Such a beautiful look!   So...I did another card with that color combo to share with you today.  This time I am using Bloomin' Marvelous, was having withdrawls after using it so much during Sale-a-bration! This is a very simple card to put together.  I simply stamped with both colors using the flower in a random pattern on the card.  I added a bit of embossed Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party ribbon.  A couple butterflies and a greeting...and it's done!  I made two of these for the bookstore very quickly.  Perfect in my opinion for Mother's Day, beautiful colors and who doesn't love butterflies and flowers! Thanks for visiting!  Come back tomorrow to see what I made for this week's Create with Connie and Mary Challenge, it's a fun card! If it doesn't move...stamp it!
