See it Again Saturday

Image
Hello! Welcome to See it Again Saturday!!  This week's layout re-visit is the layout from yesterday.  When I made the French Twist card with Soft Sky and loved the simplicity of it, I decided to make another card.  For my re-visit with the layout I used the Dress Up Framelits. I really loved the look of Pretty in Pink with Soft Sky, so I used that as my accent color.  The dress frame is very lightly stamped with a Secret Garden flower in Crumb cake. I tied Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon around the waste and added a pearl necklace.  I added paper piercing around the top of the dress model in a half oval like yesterday's card, but added a different embossed edge.  I used the cross stitch embossing folder underneath the DSP this time. The greeting is stamped with Early Espresso and a punched flower with a pearl added next to it.  And that's it for this simple layout re-make.  I love how it turned out, this dress frame is so fun to work with.  I will probably try this same card

Flashback Friday: French Twist

Image
Welcome to Flashback Friday!! Today we go back to 2001 and the cute set French Twist.  I have only used this set once I think, but just can't part with it.  Here's a picture of the set. I love the whimsy of these stamps!  Today's card uses the flower cart.  I wanted something soft and pastel for spring.  Here's the card I did. I went with a simple layout.  The DSP is from Domestic Goddess (got it off the Clearance Rack!!) and matched perfectly with retired Sky Blue.  I adhered the DSP to the CS then used Scalloped border from the set of embossing edges in the Occasions catalog called Needlepoint Border.  You can see it better below.  The border added a nice touch to the card while still keeping it pretty simple.  Another subtle touch I added to the CS was paper piercing.  I have a close up for you to see. I adhered my focal point then used a template to paper pierce only on the CS around the top edge.   The image was stamped on Whisper White with StazOn Black Ink and co

All Dressed Up

I am so excited because I FINALLY got to try out my new Dress Up Framelits!!  I have seen so many wonderful creations done with these framelits and have really been wanting to get my hands on them!!  I started out with a simple, yet elegant design that I saw done by Chiaki Haverstick.  She did just a simple dress form and some floral accents.  You can see her card HERE .  This is my CASE of her design. I used one of the flowers from Secret Garden to stamp in Soft Suede on Whisper White CS.  I stamped three times for each inking to get the variations in color.  I also stamped on the Crumb Cake dress model with the same flower.  I added in Pear Pizazz Seam Binding that I found on the clearance rack and a Pear Pizazz flower under the greeting.  A simple yet elegant card...LOVE IT! Thank you Chiaki for the the beautiful design!  I loved it so much that I made another of this design with Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding and then made three more with other ribbons and a slight variation.  This ca

A Secret Garden Bridal Shower

Image
I had a last minute order on Monday for bridal shower invites, so I haven't had a chance to make anything new.  Well, yesterday I STILL didn't get a chance to work in my craft room.  Busy day catching up on cleaning and had a couple errands to run.  So today's share will be the invite I made on Monday.  I used Secret Garden since it was for an April bridal shower. The colors were to be in yellows and greens.  I chose to work with So Saffron and Certainly Celery.  The card base in So Saffron was embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper EF.  I added in the doily with Certainly Celery leaves and the Daffodil flower.  To make the Your Invited stand out, I stamped it in Soft Suede and punched it out with the Modern Label punch.  I also punched out a layer of Certainly Celery to back the greeting.  Both the greeting and the flower were adhered with dimensionals.  The flower was heat embossed in white and water colored with an aqua painter and re-inkers. The final touch on the flower w

A Soft and Pretty Annniversary Card

Image
Today's share is a card a did a few weeks ago.  I had planned on showing something new today, but got a last minute order for 20 bridal shower cards that needed to be done ASAP.  So, today's share is an anniversary card done in Soft Sky. I wanted to try out the idea of a card with dimension in a different way.  I stamped the focal point on Whisper White and adhered it to the Soft Sky card base.  I cut out a space with the Window Framelit on a second piece of Soft Sky then embossed it with the Lacy Brocade EF.  I attached it to the front of the card using dimensionals to make sure it was popped up.  Last I added my greeting.  I love the monochromatic look and softness of the card.  It turned out just as I planned!! Here is a second card done in the same manner with a different focal point.  I hope you liked the cards shown today!  Tomorrow I will try to have something new to show you! If it doesn't move...stamp it!!! Nicole Tugrul Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Sh

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge TSSC256

Image
It's Monday!! Time for a new sketch for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  Here is this week's sketch from Mary Jo. I wasn't too sure what to do at first.  I decided to come up with a Mother's Day card of some sort.  So, my first thought was flowers.  I used the Secret Garden bundle with soft pastel colors and was very pleased with how it turned out. The card base is Pool Party.  There are two layers.  There is the base cs then another layer of Pool Party that was embossed with the Honeycomb EF.  I tied a piece of Pear Pizzaz seam binding around the embossed layer before adhering it to the card.  I added two die cut leaves, one in Old Olive and one in Pear Pizzaz  Next I layered on the flowers that I made.  All of the flowers were stamped with Versa Mark and embossed with white embossing powder.  I used my Aqua Painter and re-inkers to color the flowers, starting light then adding darker shades for contrast.  I die cut the flowers then added pearls to the centers.

More Dreams and Dragons

Image
Today I have another Dreams and Dragons card to share that goes along with Flashback Friday.  I showed you a shadowbox card on Friday in Pink.  Today's it's an easel card in Lovely Lilac. This card features the castle stamp from the set.  I stamped with StazOn Black on Glossy CS and colored it in with markers.  I embossed the card stock behind the castle with Cloudy Day before attaching it to the easel base.  I added a couple layers of colored matting behind the castle to make it stand out.  There is a layer of Lavender Lace then Almost Amethyst, plus I attached it with dimensionals to add height.  The greetings were both stamped with Lovely Lilac.  I put the birthday greeting on a banner that I die cut using the Petal Cone Bigz Die.  The greeting on the bottom was stamped and punched out with the Decorative Label punch.  I added a couple extra layers of CS with the punch and popped it up on dimensionals.  Well, I hope you liked card number two made with my Flashback Friday set

See it Again Saturday

Image
Welcome back to See it Again Saturday!  I have another shadowbox card to share.  I did the original card for a customer workshop in February.  Here is the card and you can see the original post HERE with all the details. This original card used Blooming with Kindness.  I love the Saffron and the Celery card stock together.  I actually had two sets of card stock cut for the workshop that weren't used, so I sat down and made a couple new designs with the same card stock. This first one is fairly close to the original.  I changed the greeting to the Happy Birthday from Perfectly Penned.  I also changed the position of the flower on the inside of the card.  For this card I changed to Secret Garden for the flower.  I stamped on Glossy White CS with StazOn Black Ink and colored it in with markers.  For the greeting I used Feel Goods stamped in Soft Suede, there was a leaf stamped off in Certainly Celery first. Thanks for coming by and checking out my re-makes!  I hate to let cut card s

Flashback Friday: Dreams and Dragons

Image
Welcome back to Flashback Friday!! Today we journey waaaayyyyy back to 1996!  Dreams and Dragons is the set for this week.  I just LOVE this set!! I bought it before I had kids knowing that if I had a daughter I would use this set!  I am in the process of working on little girl birthday cards for the bookstore, so this set was perfect. I love shadowbox cards, and thought this set would be perfect for that layout.  The front of the card is Pink Pirouette, the back is Pool Party.  I embossed the Pool Party CS with Cloudy day EF, hard to see with this picture.  I used glossy white CS to stamp the images in StazOn Black Ink then colored with markers. Both the birthday greeting at the top and the greeting at the bottom are attached with dimensionals.  This is such a fun card that any little girl would love for her birthday!! I made another cool card with this set that I will share on Sunday.  Thanks so much for looking!! Don't forget....Sale-a-bration ends TONIGHT!  Be sure to get your

Today I have another doily card to share.  I love this look, so I am sure you'll being seeing more of it! I love how doilies make such a beautiful frame!  I wanted a soft card, so I used Bloomin' Marvelous and stamped flowers and leaves on the doily.  I also stamped flowers to cut out to add to the greeting.  The greetings from Feel Goods are just beautiful and they look great without having to add a lot to the design.  I stamped in Rose Red on Whisper White white for the greeting and stamped off to do the flowers.  The leaves are from the bird punch, I wanted them to be small but present.  The card base is Primrose Petals embossed with the Honeycomb EF.  And that's it!  A pretty yet simple card. Be sure to get your Sale-a-bration order in before time runs out!  We only have until midnight on Friday, so contact me or go to my online store to place your order! If it doesn't move...stamp it!! Sycamore Street Pinwheel Card

Image
With Sale-a-bration coming to a close, I wanted to make more cards using the FREE products to share.  This card uses the Sycamore Street DSP and the Pinwheel sizzlet. This card has elements of a card I did previously for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  I used the FREE Sycamore Street DSP for my pinwheel.  An orange brad holds it together and a piece of the FREE ribbon in Island Indigo is the handle of the pinwheel.  I stamped Happy Birthday in Island Indigo on Tangerine Tango and die cut it with a Bitty Banner Framelit.   Both the Island Indigo card base and Whisper White layer have been embossed with the Cloudy Day EF.  And finally, the grass is in Lucky Limeade embossed with the lacy embossing folder from Delicate Designs Folders.  It has really been fun using the In Colors in combination with the Sycamore Street DSP and the matching ribbons and buttons from Sale-a-bration.  I really hadn't used the In Colors that matched that often, and now I can't seem to put them d

A Soft and Subtle Easter

Image
Today's share is a card that kind of made itself.  I had an idea of what I wanted, then it turned out completely different.  I absolutely love this card though, and love that it just kind of "happened"! I had originally planned to use the embossing folder then add a few pearls to the design, a flower and an Easter Greeting.  Well, I ended up with something a bit different.  I wanted to try the whitewashing look that I've seen on idea boards so I just started out with flowers.  I used Almost Amethyst, a retired color, because it is a beautiful soft color for Easter.  When I tried putting just pearls and and the flower and greeting it was too plain for me.  The doilies were sitting on my desk so I thought, leaves, flower, doily!   I even ended up stamping the greeting on the doily, seemed like the only good place to put it.  The flower was fun to experiment with.  I embossed in white on Crumb Cake.  I painted the flower with StazOn white ink refill since I didn't ha

Monday Lunchtime Sketch ChallengeTSSC255

It's Monday, so time for a new sketch challenge!  Here's a look at the sketch Mary Jo gave us for this week. I am working on Easter cards currently so I used this sketch with Secret Garden to make an Easter card. This card just screams Spring! I love the brightness and the layering of Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango.  The card base is Daffodil Delight with a layering of Tangerine Tango and Daffodil DSP from Polka Dot Parade.  The second set of matting for the focal point is the Tangerine Tango with the Polkda Dot Parade DSP and then a layer of white.  The Whisper White layer has the flower stamped in Daffodil Delight and then I added the dimensional flower.  I first tried stamping Daffodil Delight on the CS but it did not show up very well, so I stamped with Pumpkin Pie.  There are three layers to the flower, all layers have a dimensional in between and then a couple little pearls in the center. I hope you enjoyed today's sketch!  Play along with us by going to Technos
