Banner Blast for Try Stampin #149

Image
I am using sneak peak products for today's sketch challenge at Try Stampin on Tuesday.  Before I show you my creation, let's look at the sketch. I wasn't sure of what to do at first, but after looking at Banner Blast, I knew that a banner was the way to go.  The long rectangle at the top of the sketch is perfect for one.  Here's what I made. I love how easily this card came together once I had a plan in place.  I used Fresh Prints DSP for my background and added in elements with coordinating colors.  I added bling with Red Glimmer paper hearts which ended up being my favorite element.  Thanks for stopping by to check out my card today.  I hope you will join us at Try Stampin' On Tuesday and make a card of your own with this week's sketch.  You can find out more details about the challenge on the Try Stampin' Blog along with more great samples from the Design Team. You're Lovely for TSSC295

Image
It's Monday and we have a new sketch challenge for the week from Mary Jo at Technostamper.  This was a great sketch to work with, let's take a look. I used preview products from the upcoming Occasions Mini and Sale-a-bration catalogs for my card. I am really happy with how this card turned out.  I didn't want to do hearts and follow the sketch exactly.  I chose other elements instead.  In place of the hearts, I used the I think You're Lovely stamp and small flowers.  The stamp turned out beautiful, I simply colored it using markers.  After die cutting it with the matching framelit, I backed it with Real Red and free hand cut around it, just adds a little extra pop of color.  I added pearls and small flowers to complete the look I wanted for it. The DSP underneath is from the new Fresh Prints DSP Paper Pack.  I absolutely LOVE the designs in this new DSP Pack, so gorgeous. The last element of the design is the banner.  I didn't want to put a greeting there, the first

See Ya Later Alligator!

For this week's Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge I made a card using new products.  I just LOVE new stamps to play with!  First let me show you the sketch. I have used products from both Sale-a-bration and the new Occasions Catalog.  I am so looking forward to SAB, my favorite time of the stamping year!  Here's a look at upcoming products. I went with a color scheme of Soft Suede, Pool Party, Whisper White and a splash of Real Red.  The stamp is from the SAB catalog, a set called See Ya Later.  I divided the stamp into two pieces.  The image in the top left corner was colored in with my ink pad and marker. The bottom part of the stamp was used for the lower right image on the card. I like the greeting being separated, thought it worked well with the sketch.  The flowers are from the new Petite Petals punch in the Occasions Catty.  I did not use the coordinating stamps for the punch, I simply punched out DSP.  Speaking of DSP, the super cute ones featured on this car

Santa's Checking His List

Image
Christmas is almost here!  So for this week's color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary, I made a card with Santa's List.  First, let's look at the colors. I immediately thought of Santa's List when I saw the colors for the challenge.  I also really love the Season of Style DSP Pack so I used those two items as my inspiration.  Here's what I made. It's a very simple yet jolly card!  Whisper White is my card base with a layer of striped DSP on the bottom half.  Santa is stamped with Cherry Cobbler on the upper half of the card.  A strip of Silver Glimmer Paper and silver ribbon in the center add a little bling.  The greeting was the last to add.  I stamped "Merry Christmas" from Petite Pairs next to Santa using Black StazOn.  That's it!  A clean and simple Christmas card for this week. I hope you will join me and do a card of your own with this week's color challenge.  You can find all the details and more samples from the Design Team at

Be Merry

Image
I've got a festive Christmas card to share today that I made for the sketch challenge this week at Try Stampin' On Tuesday.  First let's look at the sketch.   Along with it,  we were asked to include a snowflake in our design.  I wanted to use the Be Merry single stamp, so I turned the sketch on it's side.  Here's my festive card. I love the how this card turned out!!  This stamp is so fun and easy to work with.  I started out with a Gumball Green card base for a pop of color.  The card stock is Core'dinations, I wanted the embossing stand out.  After it was embossed with the Northern Flurry EF, I lightly sanded the snowflakes with the sanding block.  Next a strip of striped paper from the Season of Style DSP pack was added to the left side of the card front.  I stamped Be Merry with Cherry Cobbler on Whisper White card stock and cut it out.  The final detail is the snowflake from Endless Wishes stamped with Gumball Green on Whisper White.  I punched it out with

Life in the Forest for TSSC293

Happy Monday!  It's time for a new Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Technostamper.  Here's a look at Mary Jo's fabulous sketch for today. I have been dying to dig into my new products, so today's card is a preview of what you'll be seeing in the new Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-Bration Catalog.  Isn't this just the cutest!  The clever little fox is from Forest Friends, a very fun new set to look forward to.  He has several buddies that I will show in upcoming cards.  The card base is Sahara Sand with a layer of Pool Party on top.  The Pool Party card stock is embossed with the upcoming SAB Embossing Folder called Decorative Dots.  I have a layer of Basic Black card stock measuring 3 3/4" x 3 1/4".  A layer of Whisper White was added over the black with trees stamped with Summer Starfruit.  A 1" x 3 1/16" strip of SAB DSP called Sweet Sorbet was added to the bottom.  Before it was added, a 1/2" strip of Summer Starfruit was added to

Festive Flurry for CCMC281

Image
It's Thursday and time for a new sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary. I thought of Festive Flurry right away when I saw this sketch.  And as you already know, I LOVE this set!  I am enjoying non-traditional colors on the Christmas cards too, so I used some bold colors for this card. I did an earlier challenge with Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush but  I went even bolder for today's challenge and used Melon Mambo with Bermuda Bay. The Melon Mambo card base looks gorgeous with the Bermuda Bay DSP and Silver Glimmer paper.  I did a layered snowflake for the focal point.  The bottom and top layers are Melon Mambo and the center layer is Bermuda Bay.  There is a dimensional in between the layers to make the snowflake pop. I added a Large Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the center of the snowflake, finishes it off beautifully.  Last component of the card is the greeting.  I stamped Christmas cheer with Melon Mambo on a strip of Whisper White,  then made it into a banner with

A Fun Christmas Tree Card

Image
Hello!  Today I have a really fun Christmas card to share thanks to Patty Bennett.  I am blessed to have her as my upline, she is just the best!  Not only does she inspire me with her amazing cards and projects, but she is super giving!  I am the lucky winner of a prize patrol package that contains all the supplies needed to make a card and Tag a Bag Gift Box.  I had a chance to make the Christmas card today and all I can say is SUPER EASY, SUPER FUN! Isn't this a cute card!!  Patty sent me all the things needed to make it.  My card is a little different from her original design.  She used Washi Tape for her stripes, I used DSP.  The card is quick to make and I love all the bling! You should see the Tag a Bag Gift Bag that she sent with the components of the card.  She printed on the bag using MDS!  She's so detail oriented and clever!  The other package holds all the supplies for the second project that I hope to complete in the next day or so. Thanks so much for stopping by t

A Birthday Card for TSSC292

Image
Happy Monday!  Time for a change of pace with today's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  First let me show you today's sketch from Mary Jo at Technostamper. Since I have been doing a bunch of Christmas cards lately, I decided to change things up a little and do a birthday card.  Here's what I came up with. Isn't this a really cheerful birthday card?  I am still loving Bermuda Bay so I used that as my card base.  I added Birthday Basics DSP and colors that coordinated.  The Deco Label Framelit is Pink Pirouette and the cupcake is Smokey Slate and Primrose Petals.  The greeting from Express Yourself (hostess set) is stamped with Basic Gray.  I just love the way the colors blended, what a fun birthday card! This was such a great challenge, I hope you will join me!  You can see cards made by other members of the design team by clicking on the links below.  Go to Technostamper to find out more about participating and to link up your card! Golden Stars for CCMC280

Image
It's Thursday and time for this week's challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  We have a color challenge for you - Night of Navy, Gold and Whisper White. I love these colors for Christmas, very elegant.  I decided to to gold embossing for my card and keep it simple.  Here's what I came up with. Here's the basics of my simple Christmas card. 1.  Night of Navy for the card base. 2.  Cut Whisper White 4" x 5 1/4" and embossed it with the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder. 3.  Ran the edges of the Whisper White layer through Versa Mark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. 4.  Die cut a piece of Night of Navy with one of the Apothecary Accents Framenlits.  I used the large Oval Punch to cut out the center so I could add a banner. 5.  The banner is a 1/2" x 3" piece of Whisper White card stock.  I made a banner end using the Hexagon punch then embossed the My Paper Pumpkin greeting in gold.  I also stamped and embossed three stars from MPP.  I f

A Christmas Tag for Try Stampin' On Tuesday

Image
Today I have a gorgeous Christmas tag to share that I made for today's challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday.  Usually we have a sketch to work with, but this week we are making Holiday tags and giving a tutorial so you can make one too!  Here's a look at the tag before I show you how I made it. This is super easy  to make.  I used the largest tag from the Chalk Talk Framelits for the tag base, done in Cherry Cobbler card stock.  The bow is made using punches.  The Extra Large Oval and Large Oval punches form the bows.  I have a couple of pictures for you, but you can see the specifics in the step by step tutorial for bows I did awhile back, just click HERE .  Punch two ovals from each of the punches plus cut a strip of paper 3/4" x 3".  Use the Hexagon punch or a square punch to make banner ends of the strip of paper.  Fold over the ovals and adhere the ends together.  I used a small piece of sticky strip since it has the best hold.  I stamped my greeting from End

Color Me Christmas for TSSC291

Happy Monday!  Today we have a clean and simple sketch for this week's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Mary Jo at Technostamper. I have really come to love clean and simple designs.  I used Color Me Christmas for this card, works so well with this sketch. The base is simply Whisper White with a 1 1/2" strip of paper from the Season of Style DSP Pack.  To add a little pop of color, I added a Gumball Green scalloped edge to the DSP.  The greeting stamped with Gumball Green adds a little extra color as well. Santa is stamped onto Glossy Whhite card stock with StazOn Black.  I used a blender pen and ink pads to color him in.  I fussy cut him out and adhered him to the card with a couple of dimensionals.  A super fun and super quick card! This was such a great challenge, I hope you will join me!  You can see cards made by other members of the design team by clicking on the links below.  Go to Technostamper to find out more about participating and to link up
