Everyday Hero for CCMC457

Image
Time for another sketch challenge!! This week we have a great sketch for you at Create with Connie and Mary. Just like with the last sketch challenge, I used this idea to get ready for Mother's Day.  The stamp set of choice for today is EVERYDAY HERO. This is perfect for my Mom, she really is a super hero to me!  She'll love the bright bold colors and sentiment, a great way to say how awesome she is. The super mom is colored with watercolor pencils to get the bolder colors.  I added in extra wow factor with the stars from STAR BLAST EDGELITS as a backdrop, love the burst of Daffodil Delight!  And the sentiment is heat embossed in white on the Pacific Point to make it stand out as well. Lots of bold colors today!  I hope you enjoyed the inspiration, there's lots more where it came from!  Just go to Create with Connie and Mary to check out the cards by all of the Design Team. Perfect Mix for CCMC 455

Image
Get ready to be inspired!!  This week we have a great sketch challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary!! Love this week's sketch!!  It took me a bit to pick which set to go with, but eventually decided on PERFECT MIX. This set is just too much fun!  Lots of ways to layer the different kitchen items!!  I embossed several of each stamp and played around with the design. In the end, I liked the way Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral worked together with the neutral tones.  And the best part, I have a bunch of extras for later....BONUS! There's lots of inspiration still to be had, so go and check out CREATE WITH CONNIE AND MARY !! I hope you'll get your stamps and and get creative with us!! Dragonfly Dreams for CCMC454

Image
There are several bundles from the Occasions Catalog that I have yet to work with.  So for this week's Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge , I pulled out the DRAGONFLY DREAMS Bundle for my card.  But before I get too far ahead, let's take a look at the colors we are featuring this week. Beautiful combination, don't you think??  I wanted a soft watercolor look to go with DRAGONFLY DREAMS so I paired it up with products from the April My Paper Pumpkin. I used the card base and one of the watercolor papers from the kit.  Everything else was from my regular stash of products. The water coloring shows off all three of our colors this week.  I used my aqua painter and ink pads to create the look.  I also added color to the rest of the background, a little bit of Island Indigo.  I used that same color for the dragonfly die cuts and added a bit of Wink of Stella to each to make them sparkle. The inside of the card had to be embellished as well.  The stamps from the kit alon...

Cool Treats for CCMC452

Image
I've been on a break for the last two months, but I'm starting to post cards again since I love stamping so much!  I've teamed up again with Create with Connie and Mary for the challenges they do on Thursdays and this week we have a beautiful color challenge. So Saffron, Peek-a-boo Peach and Sahara Sand are gorgeous together, especially with spring starting.  I went with COOL TREATS and created a yummy orange creamsicle card. Peek-a-boo Peach is such a delicious color for COOL TREATS ice cream cones.  All of my family love orange creamsicle ice cream so this color combination was an easy one to work with. I created a melted ice cream background using watercolor paper and an aqua painter with the Peek-a-boo Peach ink pad.  A few die cut sprinkles add some fun and we all know I love sprinkles and confetti!  Lastly, the sentiment was stamped on slender banners to layer below the ice cream. For more ideas using these beautiful colors, stop by Create with Connie and Mary .  We...

Oh So Succulent

Image
Along with everyone else, I am in love with SUCCULENTS!  And Stampin' Up! is right in line with the trends by bringing us the fabulous OH SO SUCCULENT Bundle in the new Occasions Catalog. This gorgeous bundle is perfect for cards and 3D items as well, a dream come true!!  My first card has been inspired by the sketch challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary . I love this sketch and thought the succulents bundle was a perfect fit! I actually combined several stamp sets to create this card.  As I've said before, Stampin' Up! sets coordinate beautifully!!!  I pulled the small mason jar from JAR OF LOVE.  I love having the succulents in a cute little container.  Plus this supplied one of the elements of the card sketch.  Next, the succulents came from OH SO SUCCULENT.  Each one has an outline stamp and a solid stamp to add color and dimension.  And finally, the sentiment is from LIVE,LOVE,GROW. Did you notice the gorgeous designer paper??  It coordinates with the Succulent...

I've told you about my immediate love for the PLAYFUL PALS BUNDLE already, but this card really proves just how FUN these products are.  Get ready for some serious cuteness! Is this just too stinkin' cute for words or what????  I just can't help but smile with the little puppy pal! And where did I get my inspiration, none other than this week's sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary ! I saw the puppy on green grass when I looked at this sketch, didn't hesitate...just started working! One of the best things about this stamp set is that they thought of everything....including the cute little mouth for the animals.  No more drawing in a mouth with a marker hoping it will turn out right!  Before I get to the supply list, take a look at this fabulous PLAYFUL PALS BUNDLE to see all the goodness you will get at 15% off! Hello

Image
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, we had a very busy but good one!  I am back today with another clean and simple card.  This has really become my favorite style of card lately, especially with lots of crisp white! I used the Create with Connie and Mary color challenge that is still going on for my inspiration. I love these three colors together, a perfect recipe for a CAS card! I did a little stamping and a little die cutting to create this clean look.  The stamp from the new Sale-a-bration set HELLO was a perfect match to the GREETINGS THINLITS .  I also added a little bit of the WINTER WONDERLAND VELLUM STACK , love the stripes under the sentiment! And as you already know, sequins are always a great compliment on a crisp card so there are two gold ones added to this one.  I even added a couple to the envelope, couldn't help myself! As we wind down 2015 we have lots of new products to look forward to in 2016!  The Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-bration will begin on Januar...

Holly Jolly Greetings

Image
I've gone clean and simple today with a card featuring the HOLLY JOLLY GREETINGS BUNDLE. Sometimes simple is just the way to go! For inspiration, I used the color challenge from Create with Connie and Mary . They have a two week color challenge that I just couldn't resist!  I am really into using unusual colors for Christmas and Basic Black is one of my favorites to use. Even though the card is simple it still has sparkle and shine!  I heat embossed the snowflake for some shine.  Then I added in a gold glimmer paper die cut for some sparkle.  I also added in a few random gold sequins because as you know I believe sequins make everything look better!  And that's it!  An easy peasy but still happy and sparkly Christmas card! Sky is the Limit

Image
I'm taking a quick break from Christmas cards to share a Sale-a-bration sneak peek with you! It's so fun to get new stamps!  My pre-order (a perk of being a demo!) came yesterday so there was no way I could make a Christmas card with these beauties on my desk.  I went with a clean and simple card using the sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary . I thought of the airplane and cloud from SKY IS THE LIMIT right away when I saw the layout of the flowers.  It ended up working out quite nicely! I tried out a design from one of the new designer papers as well, but it blended with the Tempting Turquoise base.  So I looked at the left over pile on my desk and a strip of WINTER WONDERLAND VELLUM jumped out at me.  It made the perfect edition and kept the card clean with just the three colors. Now that I have new goodies, I will start bringing you more sneak peeks along with Christmas ideas this month. Tomorrow stop back to see the second set of wine bottle tags that I made w...
