One More Fabulous Shaker!

Image
I've been on a shaker card binge this week.....I can't make anything else!  I sat down with High Five and a shaker card idea came to mind immediately. This version is called a flat shaker, so no dimensionals needed...woo hoo!!  Skipping the dimensionals makes this card so much quicker and FUN! Again I paired Coastal Cabana with black and white.....I just can't get enough of this awesome color combo!  A variety of stars were placed under the vellum for the confetti.  I went through my scraps of Basic Black, Whisper White and Bermuda Bay and punched stars with the Confetti Star Punch.  I piled them up in the middle of the card then added a piece of vellum.  **TIP**  Be sure to add adhesive to the vellum and not just washi tape.  The washi can be easily removed and your shaker will fall apart! Once the vellum was in place I added the striped Stacked with Love washi tape to complete the shaker portion.  Now to embellish!!  "Your Fabulous" fr...

Cheerful Critters for CCMC342

We've got a color challenge this week at Create with Connie and Mary.   We are using Basic Black, Hello Honey and Sahara Sand.  I used a set that you may not think of with these colors, but I thought out of the box a little and went with Cheerful Critters. I kept the card clean and simple, especially with these colors.  The Whisper White cardstock gives a nice crisp background for the simple birthday card.   A black banner along the bottom gives the bunny a place to sit.  The shirt is paper pieced with Sahara Sand and the bunny is kept white except a slight bit of blush on it's cheeks. The party set High Five was used for some of the fun details including the Hello Honey arrows along the banner plus the sentiment "Party Time".  Last detail was the Hello Honey stars punched with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. So there you have it!  A crisp and clean Cheerful Critters card with this week's colors.  I hope you will join the challenge and mak...

A Strawberry Slush Birthday for TSSC341

Image
Welcome back!  I have a really bright and fun card to share with you that I made for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Technostamper.   I love this week's sketch, Mary Jo always has great ideas to work with! I wanted a bold and bright card, so I used a cute set that I've had forever but have yet to put ink to. Is this a fun birthday card or what?!  I combined About the Label with High Five to create a bold and bright card. The Strawberry Slush card base was embossed with the Lucky Stars embossing folder.  Next, a piece of Whisper White on which the sentiment and arrows from High Five were stamped. A strip of silver glimmer paper added a bit of sparkle, along with a few scattered stars around the card. The gift bag was stamped, hand cut and added to the glimmer paper with Tombow glue. The "HB2U" in the center of the package was made in two steps.  First, I stamped "HB2U" with Strawberry Slush on Whisper White.  I punched it out and trimmed down the...

A Fabulous Color Challenge!

Thursday's here already and so is the weekly challenge from Create with Connie and Mary .  This week we have three fabulous colors to work with. I love when we have color challenges and can play around a bit more with designs. I have been wanting to try out a shaker card and this was the perfect opportunity. I just LOVE all the new products with stars, so a star card was born!  Blackberry Bliss is the card base with stars sponged all over using the star decorative mask. Next I worked on the shaker.  I die cut a star from a 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" square of Soft Sky cardstock.  I also cut a piece of Whisper White just a little smaller.  I placed the star over top of the white and stamped my sentiment so it would line up properly.  I also stamped Old Olive stars across the Soft Sky.  For the shaker portion, I filled a small jewlry bag with glimmer paper stars and 1/4" circles of the three colors of cardstock.  I cut the top of the bag down to fit within my ...
