Sheltering Tree Birthday

Image
I pulled out an older set for today.  It's not really THAT old, but I have been so busy with the Holiday catalog stamps that I've neglected some favorites like SHELTERING TREE . Doesn't this fall tree look amazing with the INTO THE WOODS Designer Paper??  It's like there are extra fallen leaves bellow the tree! The inspiration came from this week's Try Stampin' -or not- on Tuesday sketch challenge.  There is so much you can do with this sketch! Cajun Craze, Tangelo Twist and Hello Honey make gorgeous leaves!  With SHELTERING TREE being a Photopolymer stamp set, it's easy to place them on the tree. I hope you'll join us this week and make a card for the challenge!  For all the details plus more great samples from the Design Team, go to Try Stampin' -or not- on Tuesday. Happy Spring!

Hi Stampers!  I have a spring card to share today for the Thursday Challenge from Create with Connie and Mary .  This week is a really fun sketch, take a look. Since we are finally having beautiful spring weather here in Ohio, I decided to use Sheltering Tree for my card today. I love this set, the tree is so beautiful and can be stamped in so many ways!  I went with a Baked Brown Sugar tree trunk and Pistachio Pudding leaves.  I also used Pistachio Pudding for the grass. Along the bottom is a Pistachio Pudding banner with "Happy Spring" stamped in Pear Pizzaz.  I pulled the sentiment out of From the Garden since it was the perfect size for what I wanted on the banner.  I added "hello" in Blushing Bride over the tree, it adds a nice soft touch to the card.  Final element was several Rose Red flowers punched using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack flower.  As usual I added a pearl to the center of each flower.  And that's it!  A very soft...

Sheltering Tree for TSSC358

It's Monday and time for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge .  As always Mary Jo has a wonderful sketch for us, take a look. I used Sheltering Tree for my card today, it's one of the new sets I haven't had a chance to work with yet. I went with this set because of the way the tree fit perfectly on the Party Pennant die cut.  When I first saw the sketch, the shape of the focal point immediately reminded me of that die cut, so that's the direction I went in. There was a lot of ink on this week's card, which doesn't always happen.  I had started out with a Pool Party card base, but it was too much blue.  So instead, I went with a Whisper White card base and made a background of clouds.  To do this, I went back to a retired product from Stampin' Up that some of you may remember. I think I've told you all before that I am a hoarder, so I bet you aren't surprised that I held on to this stencil that retired probably ten years ago.  It's just such a g...
