Bundle of Joy

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is BUNDLE OF JOY so we are sharing BABY cards. Lately I have been all about watercolor, so I did a baby card with a mixture of designer paper and watercolor. Bold color choice, don't you think?  Mossy Meadow doesn't usually jump to mind when thinking about baby cards, but I think this works! The bold polka dot pattern is a nice contrast to the soft watercolor baby buggy.  To get this soft look, I stamped the image with Mint Macaron first.  Then I added water to it with the aqua painter and layered on Mossy Meadow ink until it had the look I wanted. The buggy was fussy cut then added to a piece of watercolor paper that had the hearts from BIRTHDAY BLOOMS.  I stamped the hearts in Blushing Bride then added water to soften the images.  Lastly, I added a sentiment from COTTAGE GREETINGS.  This card ended up using 3 different stamp sets to create! How about the good stuff now....the Supply List s...

Occasions Catalog Favorite

Image
Welcome to the CREATION STATION BLOG HOP!  This month we are all about the new OCCASIONS CATALOG!  Are you ready for lots of fabulous ideas with NEW STAMPS?  I know I am!  The new catalog goes live January 5th so get your pen and paper ready to make a wish list! One of my favorite sets in the Occasions Catalog is PLAYFUL PALS which can be bundled with a set of thinlits called PYRAMID PALS. Is this too cute or what!!  I loved this bundle as soon as I saw it, brings out the kid in me!  I can't wait to make lots of cute animals and cards! I started out with a baby card featuring a cute little owl peeking out from behind the sentiment.  The giant "hello" happens to be a favorite of mine from a Sale-a-bration set called HELLO.  It's a fabulous set to compliment other stamps and is just as fun to use on it's own.  Here I combined it with "baby" from CELEBRATE TODAY to create a sweet baby sentiment. I couldn't wait to move onto the thinlits to make this ado...

Congrats Bear

Image
Last week I did a fun little fall card featuring the bear from THANKFUL FOREST FRIENDS .  I loved the design and a lot of people said it would be a darling baby card.  SO....today I have a baby version for you. Isn't this too cute!  I got my inspiration from the color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary. When I saw the colors for this week, I thought it might work for a baby card... the one I was thinking about doing already! When looking at the stamps in THANKFUL FOREST FRIENDS, I noticed that the stamp with a vine on the top and bottom would make a nice frame for one of the EXPRESSIONS NATURAL ELEMENTS .  To create the frame, I masked off the sentiment. A little washi tape covering the words kept that area ink free, just make sure you peel off the washi tape before you stamp!  Here's my image once the washi was removed. And now you can see the clear image of the vine only once it's stamped. This is a great way to get more out of your stamps! Just a quick reminder, ...

Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop: Bokeh Technique

Image
Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  For the month of May, we will featuring techniques, starting with the very popular Bokeh effect. You should be arriving from Mary's fabulous blog Stampercamper's Corner , wasn't her card gorgeous?!!  Be sure to hop all the way around so you don't miss anything, we have lots of great ideas for you! I personally LOVE this very popular technique, it's so fun to experiment with!  I actually did two cards to share since I was having such a blast playing around with different color combinations. Each card is soft and pretty but unique.  Let's take a closer look! Can I just say how much I love these colors together....perfect for a sweet baby!  On watercolor paper I combined Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party and Pistachio Pudding for a yummy look that reminds me of rainbow sherbert! Pool Party stars added with the decorative mask tie in nicely with the focal point.  The sentiments from Celebrate Today wer...

Something for Baby

Image
I have another card to share today, this one is for sketch challenge #179 from Freshly Made Sketches .  I thought this was a great clean and simple design to work with. I just got the Something for Baby Bundle and thought it would be perfect for this sketch.  The Best Year Ever Designer Paper from Sale-a-bration was the inspiration for my colors.  The card base is Coastal Cabana embossed with the Large Polka Dot embossing folder.  I added in a piece of the bokeh inspired paper with two of the corners rounded. A baby onsie was stamped with Coastal Cabana on Whisper White and die cut with the coordinating framelit.  A cute little duckie adds a splash of color.  It's stamped with Daffodil Delight on Whisper White.  I also stamped a duck with Tangerine Tango then cut the beak out to add to the Daffodil Delight duck.  Since Something for Baby doesn't have sentiments, I pulled the "Congratulations" from Guy Greetings.  I liked the size and the let...

Two cards for Try Stampin' on Tuesday

Image
Welcome back!  I have two cards to share today for this week's sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday .  Before I get to  my cards, here's a look at the sketch. This is such a great sketch, it can be used in soooo many ways!  I started out with one idea that morphed into another, so I ended up with two cards. This first card was part of my original thought process.  I wanted to do the bokeh technique for the top part of the card, but the colors I used looked more like a baby card than the birthday card I had planned.  So, I went with the flow and created a baby card.  I layered a couple of stars then added a sentiment. This second card is more of what I had envisioned.  I used the polka dots from Dotty Angels as my top layer in place of the bokeh technique.  The sentiment from Big News is nice and bold so this card works well all in Strawberry Slush.  I added just a touch of color with the silver ribbon and sequins. Well, I hope you feel in...

Flashback Friday: Bundled in Love

Image
Welcome to another Flashback Friday!  This week I am featuring a baby stamp set from 2007 called Bundled in Love.  Isn't this set just the cutest!  I have my Pop 'n Cuts base out right now for some cards I've been working on and decided to make a gift card holder for my flashback this week. I just love this little hippo!  I used quite a few retired items with this gift card holder.  Bashful Blue is the base cad stock.  I do so miss this beautiful color of blue!  I used Pear Pizzaz as my accent color of card stock and seam binding.  The DSP is from the retired Nursery Nest.  I stamped the hippo with StazOn Black on Glossy white and colored it with my Bashful Blue marker and a blender pen.  I used dimensionals to adhere it to my gift card holder.  Pretty simple!  Let's look inside next. I kept the inside simple.  Welcome Baby is stamped tone on tone  and Whisper White cs is added with Congratulations stamped in Bashful ...
