Cheerful Tags for TSSC346

Image
It's Monday and time for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Technostamper.  As usual Mary Jo has an awesome sketch for us. I was still in holiday card mode when I made my card for today, so I used Cheerful Tags. The first step in making this card was the colors.  I turned to the Trim the Tree paper stack and chose two patterns to work with. The card base is Crumb Cake which is the perfect subtle base color for the deep Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green that are being showcased.  The decorative paper frames the Garden Green where the tag becomes the focal point.  I added a bit of the Cherry linen ribbon with a staple and placed the tag on the card with dimensionals to make it pop a little.  Lastly, a few sequins were added to add a little touch of sparkle and make the card extra special. So, now it's your turn!  Join me in this week's challenge and make a card.  You can find all the details plus more great samples from the Design Team at Techno...

Week One Blog Hop: Cheerful Tags

Image
The first official Blog Hop of the Holiday Collection is here!  Each of the Design Team members is sharing a card made with the stamp set featured in this week's projects for the Holiday Collection from Create with Connie and Mary . You should be arriving from Melissa Davie's blog , be sure to hop all the way around so you don't miss anything! My project for week one of the Holiday Collection featured Cheerful Tags and Trim the Tree Tag Bag Kit.  For my card, I used the kit and added in Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper. I love the heavy weight of the specialty paper so I used it as my card base.  I like the inside having embellishment, so this paper worked out great! I wanted to focus on the Trim the Tree kit, so I used it for the focal point of the card.  The base tag and the tag layered on top are both from the kit.  I stamped the sentiment and trees from Cheerful Tags directly on the top tag and it turned out nice and crisp. For a pop of color,...

Cheerful Tags

Image
Welcome!  It's Friday (already!) and today my first project posted for the Create with Connie and Mary Holiday Collection.  I used Cheerful Tags and Trim the Tree Tag a Bag Kit for my tutorial.  It's not too late to subscribe and join us!  Just visit Create with Connie and Mary for all the details!  I made a set of four tags to show you today using the same items, the Trim the Tree Tag a Bag Kit and Cheerful Tags. The Trim the Tree Tag a Bag Kit is SO fun to work with, these tags came together with ease!  For this set, I used the banner shaped tags in four different designs.  Here's a close up of each. I changed the colors and ribbons up a little with each so there was a lot of variety.  Each tag has a different ribbon and little extras to make them unique.  The first tag has a custom colored ribbon.  I need a green ribbon but didn't have the right one, so I used the white organza and Old Olive blendabilities marker to make one! I hope ...

Festival of Trees

Image
It's Thursday and time for a new challenge from Create with Connie and Mary .  This week we have a great sketch to work with. I made a Festival of Trees card with frosty colors inspired by the All is Calm Designer Paper. The Lost Lagoon card base has light stamping of the snowflake from Letterpress Winter.  I didn't want it to be too plain, but I also didn't want it to be too busy.  All is Calm Designer Paper makes up the next part of the design.  A polka dot circle and strip of Smokey Slate trees look great against the darker Lost Lagoon card. The Soft Sky tag was made with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  A few snowflakes and sentiment from Cheerful Tags are stamped directly on the tag.  The tree from Festival of Trees is Basic Gray embossed with white.  A sparkly star add just the right touch of sparkle.  The finishing touch is a bit of 5/8" white organza ribbon and a rhinestone. Well, I hope you feel inspired to join the challenge with me!...

Festival of Trees Treat Box

Image
Welcome back!  Today is the final day of preview week for the Holiday Collection and I have a treat to share with you.  Before I do, I want to share the link for today's FREE TUTORIAL and BLOG CANDY.  Just head over to Create with Connie and Mary for more details!! Now on to today's treat.  I really love the Tiny Treat Boxes so I made another one to share. These are just so stinkin' cute and so quick to make, I know I will be doing more!  The back of the box has paper from Trim the Tree designer paper stack.  Instead of putting paper around the outside of the box like the last one, I stamped instead.  I wanted a snowy feel and the beautiful snowflake from Cheerful Tags was perfect for the job.  I stamped all around the outside with White Craft ink then set it aside to dry while I worked on the rest. The treat inside the box is the same as the previous one .  I used the 1 3/8" circle punch and Trim the Tree designer paper to embellish the m...

Wondrous Wreath Flip Card

Image
I have a really cool card to share today.  I saw this idea for a Wondrous Wreath flip card on You Tube and just had to try it. Isn't this a gorgeous card!!  Sam Bracegirdle from Rubberdubber made a a couple of flip cards and videos so I gave one a try and had success! The card base is Pool Party 6 3/4" x 5" stamped with White Craft Ink and the Hardwood background stamp. The focal point of the card is the wreath.  It's three layers of color- Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Real Red.   I wanted a bold sentiment, so I used my go to "Holiday Cheer" greeting from Cheerful Tags.  To make the greeting stand out, I added a background made by punching a Real Red Artisan Label and cutting the center portion out. The inside has a Real Red wreath with the sentiment from Wondrous Wreath.  I kept it simple and clean.  The last thing to go on the card was a sprinkling of stars.  Yes, I had to add stars...couldn't help myself!  I punched out a bunch of Si...

As I have said many a time, I LOVE STARS!!  I combined several awesome star products to create this sparkly shaker card.  First, the Coastal Cabana card base was embossed with stars after I die cut a star from the center. I wanted the sentiment to show through, so the shaker shows through the card front.  To make this happen, I used two stars die cut from window sheet along wit...

Cheerful Tags Treat Box

Image
I've been using Cheerful Tags quite a bit lately and thought a treat box would be a fun project to create.  So, I pulled out one of the Tiny Treat Boxes and my Trim the Tree Designer Paper Stack. I decided to alter the box a little to make a treat that is more open.  The lid stands up as the back of the box and the two side flaps were removed.  Designer paper covers the inside along the back and all of the outside. The candies that go inside are also embellished with designer paper.  I used the 1 3/8" circle punch and added a piece on the top and bottom of each candy.  Once they went into the bag, I added a ribbon that I customized for this treat box.  The 5/8" Organza Ribbon from the main catalog can easily be colored to suit any project.  All I did was use a Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities Marker to color the center portion of the ribbon....easy peasy!! Once the treat was done, I added a greeting and a couple of gold shimmer stars.  The sentiment ...
