Peachy Keen Jellybean!

Image
I used to love to say "Peachy Keen Jellybean" when I was younger so when I first saw the new Occasions catalog I smiled!  The Peachy Keen stamp set is right up my alley!!  I haven't had the chance to use the bundle much so I pulled it out for this week's Monday Lunchtime Sketch challenge. This sketch is perfect for the Peachy Keen stamps and Gorgeous Grunge. Putting together a fun yet fast card is always a good thing!  I had this card complete in 15 minutes flat...and that's with a fussy baby hanging out next to me in his stroller! The card base is Tangerine Tango with a simple layer of Whisper White. The right side has Gorgeous Grunge stamped with Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar.  I didn't want to over do it and make the card too busy, I wanted the greeting to stand out. Peachy Keen definitely stands out when stamped boldly in Tangerine Tango.  I must admit that up until the last week or so, I hardly ever used this color.  Now, I feel like I am using it

Scallop Tag Treat

Welcome back!  To all of you who stopped by during the Blog Hop yesterday , THANK YOU!  It was a great kick off for the new Card "Create"tions Collection starting tomorrow!  During the three weeks of the collection we will be sharing a small favor on Saturdays that compliments our cards.  I decided to do a favor to share with you today that goes with yesterday's Card in a Box. Isn't this fun!  I used my scraps from yesterday to put this cute little chocolate holder together. The holder is a piece of Pear Pizzaz cut 1 15/16" x 6" then punched with the Scallop Tag on each end.  I scored it in the center at 3". I added a square of Daffodil Delight polka dot DSP to the front before adding the greeting.  To make the white label stand out, I punched a 1 3/4" circle of Tangerine Tango card stock to place underneath. I placed a chocolate inside with a tiny bit of SNAIL to hold it in place.  Then I used Daffodil Delight 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain ribbon

Card "Create"tions Blog Hop!

Welcome to today's special BLOG HOP with the Design Team for the Create with Connie and Mary Card "Create"tions Collection.  I am super excited to be a part of the team, this is such a talented group of ladies.  If you are following the loop, you should be coming from Melissa Davie's blog , she is such an amazing artist!  I always get inspired to create when I see her work! For my card, I decided to go big and try something new.  So, I made a card in a box since I have seen so many cute ideas floating around.  I have to say, this is such a FUN design!  I know I will be doing more of these, they are really fun to create. Isn't this a fun, bright card!  I love the color combo of Pear Pizzaz, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight.  They are the perfect colors for a floral Mother's Day card. Here's a look from the top, you can see the greeting better from this angle.  I wanted the card to fold flat and fit into an envelope, so I attached the greeting to the sec

Make a Wish

Image
It's Thursday so there is a new challenge from Create with Connie and Mary .  This week we have a color challenge, take a look. I love this color combo, perfect for a masculine card.  I am always in need of birthday cards, so I went with that. The card base is Smokey Slate, perfect for the bolder colors that are paired with it.  A strip of Summer Starfruit embossed with the Arrows EF becomes the background for the focal point.  I love how the Summer Starfruit pops against the gray, the colors look great together! The focal point is pretty simple yet bold.  I stamped "make a wish" with Pacific Point on Whisper White and die cut it with a Banner Framelit.  I stamped the greeting a second time with Summer Starfruit and cut out the center.  I added that piece to the banner to add color to the greeting.  I first laid the white banner on the Pacific Point DSP, but it just wasn't right.  So, I adhered the banner to Summer Starfruit card stock and cut a slender matting.  That

Wisteria Watercolor

It's Wisteria Wednesday!  I say that because of the very Wisteria card that I'm sharing today. What do you think...did I use enough purple??  I started with blank piece of Whisper White which I just stared at for about 10 minutes.  My mind was as blank as the paper I was staring at!!  It was just one of those days, I am sure you can all understand that. To get things going, I grabbed Watercolor Wonder since I've not used it much.  Once it was there in front of me, things got better.  I decided to go with a pretty simple layout. The base card is Wisteria Wonder with Whisper White layered on.  The watercolor stamp is Wisteria as well.  For the greeting to stand out, I stamped it with StazOn Black.  I almost used Elegant Eggplant, but the black just looked better. The Petite Petal flowers are the perfect embellishment for this card.  For a pop of color, I used Elegant Eggplant card stock.  A small Wisteria flower and a pearl were added the the center of each flower.  The finis

Scallop Tag Card

The Scallop Tag Punch is quickly becoming a favorite of mine, there are so many cool ways to use it!  The tag closure card is just one of the wonderful ways and today I have another one to share with you. You may also be noticing that I have fallen in love with the Hardwood background stamp and So Very Grateful.  They have both been sitting on my desk and I can't seem to turn away from them!  I shared a card earlier that had a tag closure, you can find it HERE .  This one is slightly different.  I made the right side about a half inch of card stock folded over with the tag to give a little twist on the style. This little variation allows you to see inside the card a little more than the other. I made the interior subtle, the flowers are stamped tone on tone with a bolder greeting over top.  Done this way, the recipient can see the inside a little without it overpowering the outside. Per my usual, the flowers are colored with blender pen and ink pads for a soft look.  I love the sof
