Masculine Botanical Blooms

Image
Let's take a break from Birthday Blooms today and look at a masculine version of BOTANICAL BLOOMS that I made. Using just the leaves from the set gives a distinct masculine feel when combined with the right paper and sentiment. I went with a sentiment from PERFECT PAIRINGS in the Sale-a-bration Catalog in Early Espresso. I paired it with neutral colors and paper from the GOING PLACES designer paper stack.  I also added in a little paper piercing since that was part of the challenge for this card for the March CREATIVE CREW on Splitcoaststampers. For the March Mini Session from Create with Connie and Mary I also gave an idea for making a masculine card.  I made a card set with BOTANICAL BLOOMS that I think you'll really enjoy!  To find out more about subscribing to the MARCH MINI SESSION, just visit Create with Connie and Mary ! Perfect Blend for CCMC270

Image
It's Thursday and time for a new challenge from Creat with Connie and Mary.  This week we have a color challenge, take a look. Aren't these colors great for fall!  I don't have a lot of fall stamps.   In fact I am such a Halloween fan that I usually just get those stamps from the new Holiday catalogs.  So I had to think in another direction. I decided that Perfect Blend would fit the bill.  Who doesn't love coffee or hot chocolate on a chilly fall evening?  Here's what I came up with, a clean and simple card. As I've said before, I am loving the simple white background with a pop of bright colors.  The colors for this week are perfect for this style of card.  Here's what I did. 1.  Used Whisper White for my card base.  Stamped splatters from Gorgeous Grunge with Cajun Craze. 2.  Stamped the coffee cup with StazOn Black on Whisper White and die cut it with the Deco Labels framelit.  3.  Stamped the coffee cup on Cajun Craze...

A Thankful Wreath for CCMC266

Image
It's Thursday and time for a new challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  This week we have a fall color challenge to work with. I have been into Halloween cards lately, but theses colors need a Thanksgiving card.  I haven't gotten any new Thanksgiving sets yet, so I went with punch art and simplicity.  This is most definitely a clean and simple card!  I wanted the wreath to take center stage, so I went with a simple Whisper White base card.  Here's the details: 1. Paper pierced the shape of the largest framelit from Apothecary Accents to frame the wreath. 2.  Made the wreath using the leaf from the Bird Builder Punch.  I punched out a bunch of each color of card stock so the building process would go faster.  I put just a dab of Multi Purpose Mono Adhesive glue on the back of each leaf and started layering on the card stock ring I made using Circle framelits.  This is the first wreath like this that I've done and the process wasn't as long...

Image
It's Thursday and time for a new Create with Connie and Mary Challenge.  This week we have a fun sketch to work with, check it out. Great sketch, don't you think?!  I had an idea right away to use Secret Garden,  check out the card I did. This card came together quickly, here's the details: 1.  Picked Coastal Cabana as my card base.  Embossed it with Mosaic Madness EF. 2.  Cut a strip of Wisteria Wonder and punched a scallop border. 3.  Cut a piece of Pistachio Pudding and paper Pierced a circle in the center then added Happy Birthday from Express Yourself stamped with Basic Gray. 4.  Stamped and die cut 2 flowers from Secret Garden.  Also die cut leaves from the framelits in Wild Wasabi.  Added them to the bottom left of the paper pierced circle.  Placed small pearls in the centers of the flowers. And that's it!  Short and sweet......quick and easy!  I hope you like it! You can participate in the challenge too!! Just go t...

Make a Wish

I have a quick card share today using Mosaic Madness.  I wanted to make a bright and cheerful birthday card, here's what I came up with. I paired Strawberry Slush and Daffodil Delight.  Here's the details: 1.  Card base is Whisper White.  I rounded the bottom two corners and added large scallop paper piercing around three sides. 2.  Used Quatrefancy DSP in Strawberry Slush measuring 5" x 3" with the bottom two corners rounded. 3.  Stamped a pattern in Daffodil Delight with one of the stamps from Mosaic Madness on Whisper White.  Then die cut a circle with the circles framelits.  I used the fourth circle in from the largest, measures 3 3/16". 4.  Stamped sentiment from Sweet Essentials in Strawberry Slush and added Candy Dots. 5.  Final piece is a paper bow made with the Quatrefancy DSP added under the sentiment. That's the short and sweet of it!  I hope you like my bright and happy card!! If it doesn't move...stamp it!! Nicole Tugru...

A Baby Card for TSSC272

Image
Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Today we have a new Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge at Technostamper.  This week's sketch was great.  I took one look and formed an idea of what I wanted to do.  First let's look at the sketch. I love the banners on this sketch, they are so much fun on cards.  I used a retired DSP, mainly because I love it.  It was also perfect for the card I wanted to make.  Here it is. Don't you just love this DSP?  So cute!  I even used a color I haven't touched in forever, Perfect Plum.  Here's the details. 1.  Card base is Perfect Plum.  DSP from Nursery Necessities cut at 3 3/4" x 4 1/4".  Punched a border for the top and bottom of the DSP using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. 2.  Die cut a circle from Whisper White card stock.  I used the 3 3/16" circle from the new Circle Framelits.  It's the fourth one starting from the outside in.  Paper pi...

Simply Sketched for CCMC260

Image
It’s Thursday and time for a new challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.   This week we have gorgeous colors to work with, check them out. Aren’t these colors beautiful together!   I love the soft Crisp Cantaloupe paired with the brighter Cameo Coral.   I felt that these colors needed a flower, so I picked the Simply Sketched hostess set to make my card with.   I really enjoyed making this card, it kind of just made itself!   Here are the details: 1     I picked Crisp Cantaloupe as my card base.   Embossed it with the new Beautifully Baroque EF. 2        Picked the flower from the stamp set as my focal point.   Colored the image with markers and stamped it on Whisper White.   Die cut the image with one of the framelits from Apothecary Accents Framelits. 3        I added paper piercing around the flower using the template for my die cut from the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack. 4 ...

Flashback Friday : So Much

Image
Welcome to Flashback Friday!  This week we travel back to 2007 for the stamp set So Much.  I haven't really done a lot with this set.  I got this as the free set for a regional event in Cincinnati in 2007.  Here's a picture of the set. I had this in my pile of stamps that I was actually going to sell, but it's still here... and I'm glad!  I think it's a fun set to use in a more abstract way which is currently popular.  I sat down with it and had a card finished in no time, it sort of made itself.  I didn't have to contemplate much, I just sat down and started stamping.  Here's my card. I am loving the new Circle Framelits, so that is what led me to this stamp set in the first place.  I wanted to die cut the swirl of circles from the stamp set.  I am also loving the In Colors right now, so I went in that direction for a lighter feel.  The card base is actually the retired Cool Caribbean, reason being it was a card base ready to go fr...

Happy Mother's Day!

Image
A big Happy Mother's Day everyone!!  I hope you enjoy today with your loved ones!  I have a card to share that is a re-visit of previous cards that can be seen HERE and HERE .  This card uses the Dress Up Framelits and is a simple, clean layout. I really love this layout.  It's simple and clean with some fun elements.  One of my favorite elements is the paper piercing around the dress form. The dress form was cut from Crumb Cake and stamped with the large flourish stamp from Always Elegant.  Pink Taffeta ribbon and pearls complete the dress. The bottom of the card has needlepoint embossing below the strip of DSP.  The greeting is stamped directly on the DSP using Soft Suede ink.  I just love this layout, I am sure it will be re-visited again! Have a very Happy Mother's Day!!  See you tomorrow for a new Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge! If it doesn't move...stamp it!! Nicole Tugrul Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Flashback Friday: French Twist

Image
Welcome to Flashback Friday!! Today we go back to 2001 and the cute set French Twist.  I have only used this set once I think, but just can't part with it.  Here's a picture of the set. I love the whimsy of these stamps!  Today's card uses the flower cart.  I wanted something soft and pastel for spring.  Here's the card I did. I went with a simple layout.  The DSP is from Domestic Goddess (got it off the Clearance Rack!!) and matched perfectly with retired Sky Blue.  I adhered the DSP to the CS then used Scalloped border from the set of embossing edges in the Occasions catalog called Needlepoint Border.  You can see it better below.  The border added a nice touch to the card while still keeping it pretty simple.  Another subtle touch I added to the CS was paper piercing.  I have a close up for you to see. I adhered my focal point then used a template to paper pierce only on the CS around the top edge.   The image was stamp...
