Color Fusers Blog Hop: July 2016 - Part 2

Image
Welcome to the 2nd COLOR FUSE BLOG HOP!  Twice a month on the first and third Monday’s we’ll be bringing you inspiration through color!  July’s hops will feature three gorgeous In Colors. I almost went with a floral card, but I wanted to try using these colors in a different way. I haven't used BALLOON CELEBRATION much and it was calling out to me, so I gave it a try in a clean and simple way. I used bold black and white striped paper for a pop against the Peekaboo Peach card base.  The balloons are done with Flirty Flamingo with the black outline making them stand out nicely.  My favorite little detail though, is the pop of Cucumber Crush in the sentiment.  I love that unexpected bit of color at the end. I hope you enjoyed this unusual idea with the color combo for July.  These three gorgeous colors are must haves to work with!  Are you ready for more inspiration??  Let’s move on to the rest of the Color Fusers Design Team and see what awesomeness they have for us today!  Just ...

Peekaboo Peach Sunburst

Image
I have a super fun card to share today combining a couple of my current favorite products, SWIRLY BIRD and the SUNBURST THINLIT . This card just makes me HAPPY!  I love the cloud pattern from the SHINE ON DSP.   I just got this specialty designer paper and now I'm wishing I'd bought it much sooner!  It's so fun to use, the patterns are gorgeous!  This cloud paper is my favorite, I could use a whole pack of just it! I think that I've found a new favorite color combo when making this card.....POOL PARTY and the new PEEKABOO PEACH In color.  Aren't these just fantastic together??  The kraft cardstock works well with both colors too.  And the little touch of silver with the clouds and sequins makes this card perfect in my eyes! I used the SUNBURST THINLIT cut down to make a sun shape with one of the swirly stamps from SWIRLY BIRD in the center.  I went a little overboard with the small swirly stamp and created a background on the Pool Party card base.  I peppered some ...

Number of Years

My little guy just turned 3 years old yesterday, so I have a fun post for you today.  I made a couple of birthday cards with NUMBER OF YEARS and show how adding just a few extra details really makes a difference! I started out with the simple card shown at the top.  I like the way it turned out, but it could use a little something more. I love all the color on the card and the balloons give a fun whimsical feel.  This would be a great design for making a card quickly when you don't have time for more detail. In this second card, you can see a more finished look by adding a couple of extra details.  I added a little extra pop of color by adding a Crushed Curry matting under the designer paper and the white circle. I also added more color by using GORGEOUS GRUNGE to add a splash of Pool Party ink behind the number 3.  This is actually my favorite detail, it really made a big difference with just a small addition of color.  Lastly, I added color to the balloons .  I stamped the s...

Blackberry Bliss

Image
Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This month we are featuring the In Colors that will be retiring soon.  Today’s color is BLACKBERRY BLISS! For a little inspiration, I pulled out the BOHEMIAN DSP and picked out a Blackberry Bliss pattern. Isn't this too fun!  I love the way Blackberry Bliss and Bermuda Bay compliment each other!  As you can see, I ended up with two patterns from the Bohemian DSP.  The one I used for the background reminded me of sprinkles which is just perfect for a birthday card! To make the words from the PARTY POP-UP THINLITS really stand out, I added Bermuda Bay behind the die cut.  Even though the Hip Hip Hooray die cut covers most of the card, it still needed something.  So I grabbed the retiring set CUPCAKE PARTY . I used the coordinating BUILD A CUPCAKE punch to add a cupcake to the front of the card.  But I didn't stop there, there is a cupcake on the envelope and inside the card too! Did you notice that the sentime...
