Toil & Trouble for TSSC276

Image
Happy Monday!  It's time for a new sketch challenge from Mary Jo at Technostamper.  Here's the great sketch she has for us this week. As I've said before, I am very into Halloween right now (yes I know it's early!) so I used Toil & Trouble for today's card.  I did take liberty with the sketch, here it is. Instead of doing a square focal point, I used the Apothecary Accents Framelit.  I stamped the large image from Toil & Trouble on Whisper White and heat embossed in black.  Then I went back with sponge daubers and ink pads to add color.  The Old Olive behind the framelit is embossed with the Chevron EF and has Rich Razzleberry ribbon tied around it.  I attached my focal point with dimensionals, this way I could tuck a crow under the top right side just like the sketch. You can see cards made by other members of the design team by clicking on the links below.  I hope you will play along with the sketch challenge this week, just go to Te...

Toil & Trouble for CCMC265

As I said yesterday, fall is creeping closer and I am enjoying making Halloween cards!  I used Toil & Trouble for today's Thursday Challenge card at Create with Connie and Mary.  First, here is the sketch for the week. I took this week's sketch pretty liberally and turned this pretty spring looking sketch with a flower into this. I was inspired to do a Halloween card since it's Preview week for the Create with Connie and Mary Fall Collection 2013. Here's what I did: 1.  Picked  Pumpkin Pie as my card base and embossed it with the Houndstooth EF. 2.  Die cut a Whisper White circle then stamped the large Toil & Trouble stamp with Versa Mark and embossed it in black.  I added a hand cut circle of black card stock as a matting to make the words stamd out. 3.  Color was added over the words on the circle using sponge daubers and ink (emboss resist technique).  The colors are Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie. 4.  Added the strips of paper and th...

Emboss Resist in White

I did a couple more samples for the May Technique Challenge that my upline Patty Bennett gave our group. This time I did something softer with white embossing powder.  The first card is a birthday card, which I sent to Patty as her birthday is Monday. I LOVE how soft and pretty this card is.  I embossed with white then used Pretty in Pink on a sponge to add soft color.  The greeting is embossed with white as well. The next sample is just a little different, I used a different greeting and used a rosette instead of butterflies for embellishment. Thanks for stopping by to look! I have more emboss resist samples to share next time. Be sure to get retiring products before they are gone!
