Festive Flurry for CCMC281

It's Thursday and time for a new sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary. I thought of Festive Flurry right away when I saw this sketch.  And as you already know, I LOVE this set!  I am enjoying non-traditional colors on the Christmas cards too, so I used some bold colors for this card. I did an earlier challenge with Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush but  I went even bolder for today's challenge and used Melon Mambo with Bermuda Bay. The Melon Mambo card base looks gorgeous with the Bermuda Bay DSP and Silver Glimmer paper.  I did a layered snowflake for the focal point.  The bottom and top layers are Melon Mambo and the center layer is Bermuda Bay.  There is a dimensional in between the layers to make the snowflake pop. I added a Large Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the center of the snowflake, finishes it off beautifully.  Last component of the card is the greeting.  I stamped Christmas cheer with Melon Mambo on a strip of Whisper White,...

Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope you all have a wonderful day with your family and friends.  Today I have a challenge card to share, there is a new sketch at Create with Connie and Mary. I have been on a roll with Christmas cards, so I did another one!  This one features Festive Flurry and A Banner Christmas. I used Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush as my colors.  The Strawberry Slush just pops against the Coastal Cabana...love it!  The DSP is from the Brights Collection DSP pack and there is a strip of Silver Glimmer paper on the left side.  I added bling of course, Frosted Finishes Embellishment and Rhinestone gems. This was a really fun sketch to work with, I hope you will join along!  You can find all the details and more samples from the Design Team at Create with Connie and Mary .  Thanks for visiting today! Wow, Monday is here already!  That sure was a quick weekend!  Today we have a new Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Mary Jo at Technostamper, take a look. I have been really enjoying Festive Flurry lately, my new go to set for this time of year.  Today I used it for the challenge with Coastal Cabana as the main color. When I first saw the sketch, I could see a snowflake as the focal point.  I think this one turned out beautiful.  I made it layered with a little bit of silver embossing and bling to bring it to life. I also did layering on the card itself using Coastal Cabana and paper from the Winter Frost DSP Pack.  I love the bit of silver in the snowflake design of the paper that I used for the stripe on the left side of the card base.  I played off that by adding a bit of Silver Glimmer paper, the silver embossed snowflake and the Frosted Finishes embellishment. This was such a great challenge, I hope you will join me!  You can see cards ...

Festive Flurry for Try Stampin' On Tuesday #145

I have a fun and Sparkly Festive Flurry card to share with you today.  I made it for this week's challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday.  Here is a look at the sketch. Since Christmas is only a hop, skip and jump away I went with a snowflake card.  Festive Flurry is so much fun to work with so naturally it was my choice. I started out with a design of paper from the Winter Frost DSP Pack, but something wasn't right.  I happened to have a bit of Bermuda Bay paper out from the Bright DSP Stack and it just looked amazing on the card.   I was just about ready to scrap my original design too!  The design is pretty simple.  I used Glimmer Paper for the border on the left side of the DSP and for the smaller of the two snowflakes.  The larger snowflake is die cut from Bermuda bay, I layered the shimmery snowflake on top of it.  I added in a few rhinestone gems for added sparkle, the card stock looked too blank to me.  The final part of the design ...

A Color Challenge for CCMC274

I have a fun interactive card to share for this week's Color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  First, let's talk colors.  This week we are using Raspberry Ripple, Soft Sky and Very Vanilla. These colors are PERFECT for a snowflake card, sooooo it's a  Festive Flurry card yet again.  I am really enjoying this bundle, you can't go wrong.  The snowflake stamps are beautiful and you can die cut them to boot, what's not to love?!  I did an interactive card to mix it up a little this time, take a look. I wanted something unusual, and this fits the bill!  It takes a little work, but totally worth it!  I found a great tutorial at Splitcoaststampers that I've been wanting to try, so a color challenge was the perfect time.  For the directions, click HERE . The card has Raspberry Ripple for the base with a layer of Soft Sky and Very Vanilla added.  the Very Vanilla layer was embossed with the new Stylish Stripes EF.  Once the Soft Sky...

Festive Flurry for Try Stampin #141

Today I have a fun Festive Flurry card to share that I made for this week's Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch #141.  First, let me show you the challenge sketch. Now here is the Festive Flurry card I made. When I first looked at this week's sketch I immediately thought about snowflakes.  I know this week the theme if we wanted was to be more of a Halloween, but I saw snowflakes and went with it!  Here's what I did. 1.  Bermuda Bay for the base card with a layer of Smokey Slate that was embossed with  the Northern Flurry EF. 2.  I added in a piece of DSP from the Winter Frost DSP Pack.  To hide the seam I added a piece of Basic Gray 1/4" Grossgrain ribbon. 3.  Die but a circle of Bermuda Bay using the Circle Framelits.  Stamped the smallest snowflake from Festive Flurry in Smokey Slate and die cut it with the matching framelit.  Added both to the bottom of the card. 4.  Stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Bermuda Bay and punc...

It's Thursday and time for a new weekly challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.  This week is a great sketch, take a look. I love this sketch.  I have yet to do a card with the punched out area, so I was happy to do one for this week's challenge card.  I went with a Festive Flurry card since this is Preview week for the new Create with Connie and Mary Winter Collection 2013.   I just love when a card comes together easily.  This card was just that, it practically made itself!  Here are the details: 1.  Bermuda Bay for the card base.  A layer of Winter Frost DSP comes next.  I die cut a circle out of the left side with a circle framelit. 2.  Added a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper measuring 1 1/4" x 4 1/4". 3.  Next I die cut a smaller circle of Smokey Slate card stock using a circle framelits.  I stamped a Bermuda Bay snowflake on Whisper White and die cut it with the matching framelit. 4.  Added the snowflake and ...

It's Monday and time for a new Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Mary Jo at Technostamper.  She has another great sketch this week, I took one look and knew just what I wanted to do! This sketch has so many possibilities!  I went with Festive Flurry since I got the new Silver 1/8" ribbon and needed a reason to use it! Isn't this set just great with the sketch!  I think these colors, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party are just gorgeous together and perfect for snowflakes.  Let me walk you through the basic details. 1.  Chose the new Winter Frost DSP pack as my starting point.  Went with Pool Party as my card base and Bermuda Bay as the accent color. 2.  Added a layer of the DSP to the front of my card along with a strip of Bermuda Bay measuring 1 3/4" x 4".  The silver ribbon was tied onto the Bermuda Bay before I adhered it to the card. 3.  Stamped two snowflakes, the larger one in Bermuda Bay, the smaller in Pool Party.  I fussy cut these because...

It's Thursday again and time for a new Create with Connie and Mary Challenge! This week I have a fun card using the new Festive Flurry.  Before I show you my card, let's look at the colors. And here is the flip card I made. This is my first card using the new Flip Thinlet and I love it!  So much fun and so much easier than the flip cards I have done in the past.  Here's the details: 1.  Cut a card base of Soft Sky with the Circle Flip Thinlet.  My card stock measured 5 1/2" x 6". 2.  I cut Whisper White card stock with the thinlet as well so I could add stamped panels to the card.  I didn't have any DSP in Soft Sky, so I made my own with the snowflakes. 3.  I cut two Wisteria Wonder circles using the Circles Framelits and added one to each side of the flipping circle.    I also stamped a Wisteria Wonder snowflake on Whisper White and used the scalloped circle die that came with the Flip Thinlet.  Added a bit of bling to the sno...

It's Monday!  Time for a new Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Mary Jo at Technostamper.  I have been busy the last two weeks with family and haven't been able to post much lately, but I am getting back into the swing of things with today's post.  First check out the great sketch for this week. I had such a great time doing this card, the new Festive Flurry snowflakes and matching framelits are awesome!  I am loving the snowflakes with the Silver Glimmer paper, so beautiful!  I used Bermuda Bay as my base card and Pool Party as my scalloped layer.  The top layer of Whisper White has the Christmas greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped with Bermuda Bay.  I die cut three of the small snowflakes out of the Silver Glimmer paper and added them with dimensionals.  I added the gorgeous Frosted Finishes Embellishments to the top of each snowflake for extra bling.  You really have to get these embellishments, they are just so amazing.  Here's a cl...
